[Dev Diary] Scenarios & Daily Quest update
Scenarios and Daily Quest adjustments: Dev Diary about the upcoming changes
Dear Settlers!
The new "Scenario" adventures will be introduced with the next game version.
Additionally, all Daily Quest rewards have been adjusted. The new version will be deployed on
March 17th 2015.
The Easter Event 2015 will be part of the same deployment.
The event will be activated directly after the maintenance around 09:00 GMT.
A separate Dev Diary and website news will provide details about the Event and its activation.
Let's have a closer look at the Scenarios and at the Daily Quest changes:
As a first step, four "Scenario" adventures will be added to the game.
They will tell a short story and ask for a problem to be solved by applying buffs to objects on the adventure map.
Scenarios can only be found by chance through Adventure searches.
The Scenario Buffs can be produced in both the Rarity and the regular Provision House.
A special tab is accessible while the adventure is running.
A dead forest has to be revived in the Scenario "Heart Of The Wood"
These are the first four Scenarios available:
Name: The Grain Conflict
Difficulty: Easy
Description: Two quarrelling towns need a mediator to lead the negotiations for a peaceful cooperation.
Both towns are in need of the wheat being produced in the middle of the island.
Name: Twins
Difficulty: Easy
Description: Two children, twins, are missing from a town nearby. Your are asked for help in finding them
because the town is near a very dangerous swamp and it's important for them to be found fast.
Name: Heart Of The Wood
Difficulty: Medium
Description: The rangers of a nearby town are calling for aid. A strange sickness has fallen upon the trees near their settlement. The rangers have done all they could. Can you help cleanse the trees?
Name: Riches Of The Mountain
Difficulty: Hard
Description: A friendly foreman got the task to prove the riches of the mountain and to establish a mining outpost. Help him with his task and he will share his profits with you.
How to play a Scenario?
Each Scenario adventure is connected to certain challenges that need to be solved before the time runs out.
To provide a better introduction to this new game element,
let’s focus on a Scenario called Twins. A step-by-step guide is available below.
- After the Twins adventure has been found via adventure search, open the Star Menu and locate it there.
Left-clicking on the adventure icon will bring up the confirmation window.
- As usual, this will trigger a special interface that will show up to the right
(in case you cannot see it, check your Quest Book):
- When the adventure map is loaded, check the Quest Book to see the current task(s):
- The first task will ask you to collect Bridge base materials that can be found on the adventure map.
After collecting all of them, return to your home island by using the “Return home” button
that is available next to your friend list:
- Now, open the interface of your (Rarity) Provision house (hint: press “P” on your keyboard to use a hotkey)
and switch to the tab related to the running Scenario.
While a Scenario is running, a special tab is available in the Provision house.
The tab will disappear after completing/cancelling the corresponding adventure.
- After all required objects have been produced, go back to the adventure map (see: point nr 2)
and apply 3 Auxiliary Bridges (from the Star Menu) on the highlighted spots:
- Completing this task will start the second one. Go back to your home island,
produce the needed items and re-visit the adventure map.
As a next step, apply the acquired items on highlighted residences to complete the sub-quest:
- The next Scenario task is related to Used Hammers items – they need to be collected from the adventure map
and converted (via Provision house) to a Rescue Party buff. After bringing the mentioned buff back to the adventure,
just apply it on the Suspicious Ruin object:
Almost all Daily Quest rewards have been adjusted. Some quests won't be available any more.
A complete list of all Quests would go beyond the scope of this Dev Diary.
