About the "shield icons above generals/marshals while moving across the map"
Just some small changes would be great..
That shield should have a colour depending of the general's status..
Yellow when the general is attacking.
Red when being intercepted.
Green when transfering/returning back to garrison.
(It would have been great to have those shields always on top so they could been easilly tracked (instead of hidden behind trees etc), but then that would be a performance issue.)

I'd rather have the colours coded to the various players on the adventures generals so its easier to see whos sent attacks and who has not. For example, red my gen, green player 1 gen, yellow player 2 gen.
This is just my own personal preference though :)

From what i see, both SmurfAsH's and jollyfog2012's suggestion can be done in one. Your generals gets colour coded by attacking status, every other player gets colour from set that does not have attacking status colours regardless of its action. Or we can have two-coloured shields, one colour as player colour, other colour as general status colour.

If I may wish there should also be information about the general's rank in the floating shield (Taverna,BHG,VG,MG...). This information could be shown with colour,symbol or animations on the shield.
