Back after long absence. Last time I played there was no pvp and max level was 50.
I see now there is even extension to main island but I have no access to it.
Could someone point the main differences since then, how to gain access to the rest of my island and what would be the best way to level from 50.
It would help if you said how long it's been since you last played, without this information we can't know what you need to know about.

Nov 2014, all loot drops where changed and weapons removed from drops. Some production chains were tweaked because of this.
Easter 2015 New fast blocking gen introduced.
Halloween 2015 New lootspot gen introduced.
To gain access to the archipeligo islands you need to send explorer to discover them, then you need a island deed which gets you access to the landing zone, to claim it you need to use a island storehouse. then you need to discover the sectors on the island and then defeat the bandits there. once bandits killed use a sector deed to get access to the sector allowing you to place a storehouse to claim it.
As for leveling up, the fairy tale adventures are the best way until your high enough to use the new elite troops on the ali baba adventures. FT's and ali's now drop mini quests for even more xp.
Is there any guide please on best unit combinations to defeat bandits on expansion island?
As I have just spent all my stocks of iron swords and they are removed from adventure loot, what is the best way now to get hold of them? Market seems unprofitable to buy them to continue running little tailor adventures.
you now have room to extend the whole iron production... conquer the extension isle, buy more licenses etc there are quite a few more iron mines in them hills
