I have started The island of the pirates adventure with following guide:

Just on the beginning there is 1 block to do. It worked but blocking general was dead in the end.
Did they changed anything in the game settings recently or this guide is not up to date ?
Blocks totally work. Can't say for sure about the one presented there though. Looks odd since it has normal general but requires 220 recruits, normal gen only takes 200... I'd look in Killste's thread her eon forum for (usually) better guides. IMNSHO.
You chose to do the version that use only recruits ( I guess you wanted the achievement). That block is not a real block ( the real block to last for entire leader fight must have soldiers at least), more like an upgraded version of an 1 recruit block to allow your MMA to bypass his area of influence and to reach the leader camp not intercepted.
Scratch that. According to simulator , the block should hold ~ 70 sec and the leader fight should be done in 20 sec, was your timing ok ?

I sent MMA right away after blocking general - so timing was ok.
One more thing - instead of regular general I sent Veteran (loaded with 74 recruits). But I dont think it would have been a reason.
I think it would be because what you said - no soldiers. I was going for recruits only achievement, yes. But then this guid is misleading...
If you sent a Vet you you could totally blow it. A Vet fights 2x faster so block only holds half the time. Always normal gen for block unless very special circumstances.Quote:

Awww man, you failed the block due a fast general. For blocks use only tavern generals.
All "fast" generals do BTW. BHG, MMA, Dracul, Grim etc etc etc, even the Master of Defense that supposedly is good for blocking fights is twice as fast as a Tavern general. Very annoying for someone supposed to block.
MoD's do block but you have to use different troop setups from the Tavern general block.Quote:
