Specialist not grouped

In all new and improved star menu specialists can be grouped by type. Well done. There are adventure specialists, explorers, and geologists. They seem to be sorted by name in these three groups. What is missing is a fourth group, expedition specialists. Now they are sprinkled (at least in my star menu) among other specialists. Marshals hang out with regular generals, and suppliers mingle with the explorers. They should make their own crowd.

Actually, there should be even more types. Can't confirm right now, but it seems there are only two types that make for instance "explorer supergroup": regular explorer, and all other advanced explorers. But there should be more than just two types: Experienced explorer, Intrepid explorer, Lucky explorer, Savage scout, Explorer. When some of them are named they should not wander out of their type group.

I have a problem with sorting of the specialists after update.
My geologists which have books on then are not sorted in any way -
every time I open my star menu I have to find the 3 fully equipped geologists to send them and not others on a search.
I have to click on every one of them, see how many books he has then click again on the next one and so on..

Before update the 3 geologists were the first 3 in the list.
Maybe it's not well determined how to sort them now - by number of books might not be good enough for everyone.
So I suggest in the default sort that they be sorted also by name - but NOT the name of the profession but the name we give them.

That way everyone could rename suitably them and sort his specialists any way he wants.

Maybe even sort specialists by name only - so I could make geologists be on top of the list - before other specialists.

In the Default order specialists are first ordered by their type (bought generals, tavern generals + marshals, bought explorers + expedition suppliers, tavern explorers, bought geologist, tavern geologist) and within those categories they are ordered by their name or if they don't name their type.

Order is alphabetical from left to right so if you use numbers 10 comes before 1 so if you use more than 1 digit numbers you need to use leading zeros (01, 02, ..., 09, 10, 11, etc)

After renaming the specialists visit a friends island to reload the star menu content in the new order.

You are right, it's something like that. But imho that only makes sense if you are working in the database as raw data or coding as a programmer - it is not how a player looks at and thinks about his specialists. A player is thinking functionality/purpose, not the original origin of the specialist. I need to think in terms of treasure short/medium/long/prolonged and I really don't care how in or what order I acquired the specialist.

i just thought all my mma;s would be together, my mg's would be together, my grims, etc. silly me for thinking bb would make things so simple!


i'd got used to the jumble that was the old star menu and knew which specialist was where, now i'm back to square 1. but hey... a new challenge, gotta relearn where everything is :)

That's what Type should do... i seriouslly hope that BB looks and changes this down the line because due to naming my generals are all mixed. To me Type should have been also ordering them by what kind they are. not if they came from tavern events or whatever. a MMA is a MMA wherever it came from.

fanfas is correct. bb's idea of a sensible sort and the players idea of a sensible sort is very very different...

renaming all specialists 01 02 03, is a bit boring. letting us name them in the first place was a bit of fun, which has now been taken away

gj bb, not as infamous as the total barracks/prov house fail, but still pretty epic in it own kind of way!
