Sure its easier to click such a button than to write something, but a lot of people already respond to posts with "+1" or "-1" if they feel they have nothing to say.. I think the whole point of not having a like/dislike button is so people will write something, add to the discussion with an arguement.
Like/hate doesnt add to a discussion, it doesnt allow BB to see what that person is thinking, which part of a suggestion/post they like (few posts are so simple).
Considering what the game makers are spending there time on (latest DevDiary), I doubt they listen much anyway, which makes such implementation even more pointless. I would prefer they acted on suggestions already being given & supported by people on forum... surely plenty such suggestions exist for them to stay occupied for a while yet. A like/hate button will not make more people come to the forum in the first place, which I suppose is the larger problem if you want any decent grasp on the "average player opinion".
Yes Kris' comment was somewhat condecending... but your own reaction wasn't much nicer. Don't complain if you can't do better, please. That won't lead us anywhere constructive.
