Celebration lookout not giving the correct amount of gifts

According to the description you are supposed to get 1 gift per celebration lookout. I had 5 from last years event and I always got 5 gifts, now this year I bought 2 more with gems from the shop. Well I am still only getting 5 gifts and I waited an extra day just in case, still only 5 gifts again. All 7 have the icon signifying they are all ready, but yet it's not the correct amount of gifts I receive. It's as if the game ignored the fact I got another 2 now. So glad I wasted gems on getting 2 more when I am getting ripped off. So what's the deal here? If there's not a fix for it I would like my gems back.
