The quest requires looting of 2k beans, i just added 4.5k plus prem from third thief and it registered just 1999 and did not complete. at about the same time this also happened to a guild mate so it seems it wasnt 'just one of those things'.

Yep, new bug. Refresh or hopping islands fixes this.
It does it with all loot and gather quests.
