Easter Egg Tree doesn't always work

BUG 1
From what I've seen, the intent of the buff is to offer a 2nd event loot slot provided the explorer doesn't have an equal or higher amount of native loot slots.

So I checked a couple of returns, and a number of explorers only returned with 1 eventloot slot
Both loots are from Lovely explorers doing a Short treasure search

(Correct) Expected:

Both explorers have the following buffs active:

I checked a complete return batch and there were multiple instances where only 1 event-loot-slot was returned instead of the minimum of 2.

BUG 2

Both explorers in the screenshot are Lovely explorers, which has a native skill to always return the highest amount possible of any loot.
This skill (and skills like it) don't seem to apply on the bonus loot slot. See the first image of a Lovely explorer.

Note: the Egg Hunt buff must be applied before you send out your Explorers. However, if Explorers are out on a search when the buff expires, their event resources upon returning will still be affected by the Egg Hunt bonus.

This appears not to be happening, the explorers I sent out before buff expiry that returned after buff expiry only returned normal loot.
(The NT: Egg Hunt as shown in the 4th screenshot above was not shown on the reports for these explorers)

I had heard about this but hadn't see the actual post so thanks for the link. I was suspicious that what I was seeing was something like this. However my situation, I think, is slightly different in that the problem seems to be caused by the end of the buff rather than the end of the event, but part of the same mechanism may be the cause of the problem.
