Collectibles hiding (in rocks etc)

All ready the first day I found a kettle hidden under the rocks

I can't be [ Removed ] to look for things that you can't actually see. Going to have to hover the mouse on every cm of the map. At least put them so you can see SOME PART of it. Ridiculous. Terrible implementation yet again

[ Removed ] There must be 100 locations on the map where you can't build and isn't obscured by scenery. Stop adding poorly implemented rubbish and fix the provision house, barracks and binder

But I think some of the comments are a bit harsh. Even if they are hidden it takes around 15-20 minutes finding all of them.

Inside the rocks? So that why I cant find the last little *beeeeep*'s !!!! I was about to give it all up.

For someone who is colour blind, like I am, finding these collectibles is a nightmare at the best of times, but this just takes the biscuit!

When I passed my mouse over the spot I could tell from the 'highlight glow' that the scarecrow was supposed to be in front of the rock, as a patch of ground lit up in front, so it's not a case of it being hidden behind the outcrop.

Something I just notice, please do correct me if this is a wrong perception..
I see many complaints about this from Northisle and Sandycove.

about the one complaint from Newfoundland I'm not sure if this is the same problem.

Fact is I had no funny or weird locations to look for the collectibles, found them all without weird problems.
I'm on Newfoundland.. Could this be server (world) related ?? just wondering :)

Hope all problems with this are resolved soon.

Just finished my second day of collecting collectables :)
All could be found without problems, no weird hideouts :D

It's even worse. Spent a lot of time (we're talking hours that I don't really have available) found 10 out 13 when I went to max zoom (you know the one where you can see what's being served for supper in the residences) and inched my way over the map hovering the mouse pointer over every millimeter. The ones I found where in plain sight, but I hovered over every rock and tree, since some people find them there. I'm on first name with every deer and all the woodcutters on my island. I have removed all my statues and collapsed walls and flowers so they are not a distracting element. Please tell me it isn't true that some people has found their collectibles on adventure islands. *sobs*

it happen to me, the same place,
now i can't find the last one for most 2 hours....

Collectibles on adventures are different quests, they will not count against your island ones.

If you play an adventure and it has find-able cauldrons you will get a sub-quest within that adventure which will tell you how many... 0/1 or 0/2 etc.
Any additional player/looter will also get the cauldron reward mails as long as they have accepted the invite before any player clicks the collectible(s)

When these were first released to the test server I diligently searched for testing purposes but NEVER found all the collectibles. I have sight problems and once the testing phase was over I gave up looking as I have now it is live. If I see a collectible whilst I am doing whatever needs doing I will collect it but I am not spending time actively looking for them.

Yesterday i found all collection items on home island, but didn't see the reward. What kind of reward should I receive?

There is no reward for finding all collectables on your island. The sole purpose of the quest is to show you how many you need to find.

And again a hidding collectible in a rock (or should I say mountain now ;) )

I did find it quite amusing that a lot of these pictures came from bug reports on the Test Server.
When will these actually be addressed, instead of being allowed to go Live like this?

Same here.. I hardly ever log into the test server and I've never looked for a collectible on there.

Oh and if that last place you posted screenshots of is where I think it its DutchDuty (sector 8), then I had one hidden in that spot as well. I would have taken a screenshot, but I found it as I clicked on it whilst attempting to scroll the map and so wasn't able to.

I really do not understand why to spend more hours to gawk to a screen. I hope TSO owners will be able to pay us eye doctor and glasses too.

In close future, people will stop to search for this almost invisible things, and do it on this way, If I find I will find....

It's become better lately. Not that many hiding and finding all collectibles in under 5 minutes. :)

Rocks arent the onliest place they can hide.

me too. i had a bundle of herbs.

that place seems popular for hidden collectibles. most of the complaints were about this spot.

Haven't had any hidden ones, but I haven't found all of them on any day yet, whether it be 8 the lowest number or 17 the highest number it's asking me to find.

Strange though the number of items varies so much, and also some days all the items are nearly all the same type.

2nd time i had 1 there now on live server also had kettles and flowers hidden in rocks numerous times

Spent best part of hour looking around island for cauldron on "witch of the swamp" was just about to give up, and zoomed right out and there it was right in bottom corner of the sea, not on the island, surely must be a bug

Hi everyone,

I too have found collectibles hiding in strange places: the now infamous rock-place in s8, just below the marble deposit - and another, scrolling horizontally across the map, into s9, mountain chain.
(sorry, have no pics to show)

It would be nice if these bugs could be sorted soon as it generates some frustration on players. I go over the map a couple of times and that's it.

I think this is a nice feature to get people interacting more and helping one another spot for collectibles BUT some of the places are just too difficult - which in turn wearies people and drives them away from the game. The sense of accomplishment (however small) is an important part of the game. It's what keeps many people going.

In short what I'm saying is: features like these should add to the fun in the game - not the frustration. ;)

Hi. Yesterday I was in adventure "Horseback" and found THREE bronze cauldrons. All gathered but when I returned home in collectibles I saw zero cauldrons. Is there anything else I've had to do in adventure for include cauldrons? Sorry for my english..
