Have you looked at the FAQ for help
yep durin tried all that. maybe its a win10 issue, hope so coz then I can try it out when it gets resolved :)
Too bad it uses chromium.
Comparing the system requirements with my PC - this thing is fat. :)
For anyone who may be curious about what exactly a "Slim Browser Version" is exactly, since neither the homepage nor the FAQ really explain it, and even the download page is a little sparse, here are two posts borrowed from .net that might help:

I tried it out for about 5 minutes - it did not seem to be able to load.
Not sure it would work for me anyway. I like to have lots of browser tabs open, Sim in one, notes and guides- other games ...
If it could solve the endless flash crash problem, then maybe I could be tempted, - but then it would have to work faster and more smooth than it does in my favourite browser.
Forgot to tell that I am using win 10
It is working ok for me in win 10.
I would like to be able to remove the vertical toolbar down the left hand side, it takes up too much of the playong area.
...you clearly didn't stated the publisher`s name, so windows smart screen is acting like this, could you fix this problem (error) ? Cause stating publisher`s name and fixing this problem could open many doors to lets say you putting this game on the Microsoft Store (which you haven`t do) allowing X-BOX players to login with their accounts.

Please run a quick update...
Got quite enthused about this until after wading through the FAQs I discovered that it's Pepper Flash. :(
Pass.
You only have to google "pepper flash" and read some of the tech forums that appear.
It's choosy which websites it wants to play with, often more laggy than normal, and worst of all, Google's inability to allow it to update in good time nor provide a path where you can force it do so manually. When trying to avoid a critical exploit, this is inexcusable. And Chromium + Chrome will never be "slim" until google stop loading them with spyware.
Nice idea, wrong choice.
Care to elaborate on that, why is Pepper Flash bad?
Please make sure to contact support if you are experiencing any issues with the Slim Browser.
Thank you!
ok my bad, i'm an idiot...
sry bb i missed 1 of the steps in the FAQ!
can u set it to open on the proper log in page so i dont have to click "already registered"?
trying to use it now but its hard for us half blind players, text is very small, so off to support as ravel suggested...
Chromium is the open source base of Chrome without any Google customizations and applications.
It doesn't have the flash plugin distributed with it so that's the reason why Chrome is also needed.
This thing doesn't work on Mac either ... I've tried Western (Mac OS Roman) and Western (Mac Mail) no idea what the difference is but regardless, none work.
working gr8, seams more stable, less lag and vsiting frends island faster, no limbo

The slim browser is not working for me. When i run the exe is running. I got a "strnlen" error (c++) which cannot located in msvcrt.dll. After installing (in test env) c++ redist package includes the net 4.0 framework the slim browser is still not working. It always ends to a "connection lost" picture.
Afterall, why do i need to install useless (c++) package to my computer in order for a non working "browser"?
Interesting, somehow it only installs and suddenly works only in Spanish...In browser I had English version normally, how do I change it?! Somehow I go on Spanish version and back to level 1..I logged in like I normally login on webbrowser...
Did that and made sure to login before downloading also...hmm
Also did that, anyway dont want to hijack this thread, will send support a mail.
I've been playing with the lightweight browser since it released and I quite like it. I've had much fewer problems than previous when I was running the game in Firefox. Flash does not like to run too many things at the same time it seems and I often had Flash crash on me when I loaded a website that had some kind of Flash content, which still seems to be most of them. Since I moved to the dedicated client, I have had no problems so that's good.
However, there are some things that need improving. The thing needs a proper process name. It's currently a handful of processes all called nw.exe. Please change that to reflect the actual process. It currently looks like spyware. Another problem is that the client defaults to full screen. That's annoying design. Let it remember the last setting like almost all other software do. I like to run it in a full screen window because I do a lot of other stuff while playing. TSO is a background game for me and having to reduce the size from full screen down to a small window and back up to a large window is unnecessary work. Not entirely sure about the design of the side menu either. The Ctrl + Shift + F to hide it isn’t really an intuitive command. I wonder if a simple burger icon in a corner would have been a simpler solution. Or just a hidden top menu bar that appears on mouse over. It seems like the design is to make good use of the widescreen format but the menu takes quite a lot of screen real-estate.
Another thing that is related is the log-in screen. Why does it always assume that I’m a new player? It makes much more sense to assume that I’m an old player so it should show the log in stuff first. Let the new players push an extra button to get to the screen to create a new account. The normal website has a big button labelled Log In and a bar at the top where I can log in as well. It uses a cookie or similar to remember my username so then it should be able to remember that I have an account and show me that screen first.
Overall a great idea. It runs better than the normal Flash version in Firefox on my ancient laptop. Just some small nit-picks to sort out.
Chrome uses the Pepper plugin and since September 1, 2015 it hasn't supported the NPAPI plugin that can be downloaded from Adobe.
Is there any way of starting it up without going to full screen? The moment I click to start the browser, I have to stop doing what I am doing until it has started (which can take a while), and then take it out of full screen before proceeding. It would also be good if it could remember I have played before, and perhaps remember my password like my old browser did.
I decided to try that slim browser. At the beginning, there is warning that Ubisoft uses cookies. Why? There is no reason for any application (outside browser) to use cookies since it already uses portion of hard disk. How does one delete those cookies or control them in any way. Also, there is no protection of any kind in this browser. With that in mind and Privacy Policy that takes no responsibility for other sites, this browser is possible security risk.
I cannot get it to work. Followed all the instructions. Uninstalled everything. Reinstalled everything. No joy. Back to using a browser.
The instructions don't cover all the bases. You have to adjust the package.json.defalut file too as that rewrites the package.json file after every game and the pepflashplayer.dll you use has to be the 32bit version found in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash called pepflashplayer32_24_0_0_221.dll. Copy that file, rename it pepflashplayer.dll and add the correct version number to the chromium-args section ie --ppapi-flash-version=24.0.0.221".
The 32bit file size is 17,423KB
package.json.default & package.json should be
{
"name": "The Settlers Online",
"main": "index.html",
"window": {
"title": "The Settlers Online",
"toolbar": false,
"frame": true,
"width": 1400,
"height": 900,
"fullscreen": true,
"icon": "img/icon.png"
},
"webkit": {
"plugin": true
},
"chromium-args": "--in-process-gpu --ignore-certificate-errors --ignore-gpu-blacklist --enable-webgl --disable-transparency --disable-device-orientation --always-authorize-plugins --ppapi_placeholder --ppapi-flash-path='plugins\\pepflashplayer.dll' --ppapi-flash-version=24.0.0.221",
"buildDate": "2015-10-02 11:04:06"
}
Have fun
The latest version of Flash is 32_32_0_0_445. Does anyone know the build date?
theres a final version of flashplayer released 08/12/2020
Dont worry too much about downloading it, apparently Adobe are going to block any flash content from running within their player on 12/01/2021. I presume this means the slim browser wont work. that dont matter either coz most of us have never got it to work after literally years of trying!
do u mean unity? that will (if BB can make it happen (HAHA)) appear 2 months after flash stops working
He means the new downloadable client that will be deployed next week. Unity version will not be here until spring/summer
there is a toggle on toggle off for the bar
the new downloadable client is based on adobe air, once you install it the game runs basically the same as the flash version except it opens a new window when you launch the game in the browser.
