I did this adventure last night it took about 3 hours because of my current troop levels i could not strictly follow the army makeup guide however there a a couple points. first of all there is couple more camps to worry about 1 includes ambush so i took 3 generals an use third army to reinforce the other 2 due to losses. all in all a good adventure which pay out over 5,000 exp 1100 swords an 300 bows plus some rescources . so allow to lvl up 2 places, only thing was only got 10 building licenses, BAH. i use the experience general which i got from the easter eggs. in total i took 650 troops 0n this little party. good luck an watch the northern sector

You probably attacked the leader camps which, as indicated on the guide, do not need to be attacked and can be skipped. This is why you got more XP (5000 vs 3912), and lost more units. It's up to you, but I strongly prefer doing adventures faster and with less losses / less xp. This tends to work better in the long run, except for a few specific conditions where you get a mayor XP-boost with a minimal amount of extra troops (Old Friends for example).

I did it on SidV's block version, no bowman and only lost 411 recruites.

We are looking at different adventures at the moment, but we will try to keep the setups simple and risk-free.
The blocking method works most of the time, but we do not want to risk a faillure with this trick. I/We will take a look at Horseback and maybe i/we will come up with a great plan to play it with minimal losses and without the risk of blocking.

I know you have lives outside settlers blah blah, but I'm more important than that. On behalf of everyone I'd like to demand more adventure guides from you, or I will go on a PR campaign on trade tab to get you black-listed for being selfish :)
