Sorry to disagree MOD_Daz but BB refers to them as the UK servers during events and the moderation team were recently making statements such as these in June:
And, how do you explain the recent Guy Fawkes night gifts?
Newfoundland = UK1 and as such we expect that our community manager should be putting as much effort into recognition of our local holidays, celebrations etc as the German ones clearly do. It's little wonder there's not much going on as our server has an identity crisis.
Furthermore, I'm curious to know why you think the UK should not be represented when there's a good player base and many other country specific realms?
To clear out matters once and for all:
These are the servers for Europeans who speak English. As a result, it should not come as a surprise that a lot of our players are UK based.
Yes, during events, we might sometimes be associated with UK, but the main reason for that is to differentiate between us and the US servers.
It would help if members of the community team were all reading from the same script. We are getting different stories from different team members. All I can see is that you have come up with a rational by which you can justify not giving these servers equal footing with the other servers. If you think you are thinking we are buying this obvious white wash then all you are doing is insulting our intelligence.

So BlueByte recognises Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Germany, Ecuador, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Holland, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russia, USA, Uruguay, Venezuela but not the UK. The German servers encompass Switzerland etc, why are they not referred to as International German?
If a server has no national identity then it has no focus or recognition of any regional customs, traditions or holidays and this is evident in Newfoundland and I imagine the rest of the International English realms. One only has to login to the German servers and look at the news archive to see how much is going on there and it's all based on local occasions. Example, in BB's line of thinking only the German servers celebrate Mother's day and Red Nose day, server anniversaries. The hundred or so lumps of coal/gunpowder and a drillplan on Guy Fawkes night was poor. There was not even a single thing for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee/royal weddings which were massive events in the UK in 2012 and in many of the 53 countries of the Commonwealth along with attracting international attention. Yet two Settlers Online players getting married in Germany makes headline news on all servers in BB's opinion.
Either officially assign the International English servers as UK and recognise UK holidays and events OR recognise the true international aspect of the International English servers and start by celebrating a lot more of the local holidays and customs of the biggest playing countries. Such as: Australia Day, Norway's National Day, Burns night/St Andrews day for Scotland, St George's Day for England, St David's day for Wales, St Patricks Day for Ireland, Mother's day in general, Red Nose Day in the UK, Waitangi Day for NZ... The list of possibilities is endless.
The halfway house that BB currently perpetuates is not good enough and it could improve things easily with a bit of direction in its thinking.
