Does it mean we will get new geologists able to find those deposits, or will those new mines be buildings like the granite pit ?

All the news looks to be good news, especially for those who have been sitting at level 50 for a rather long while :)
My main concerns from the posted information would be about star coins, namely:
While star coins are disabled, will the shop category still be available? (basically, can we still get 100 extra gems a week?)
Will players retain their star coins until they reach level 75 when, presumably, they can spend them again?
Just really hoping there will be no 'Star coins will be converted to gc automatically' quick fix...
I think they should make star coins loot drops and give experience until you reach the next level cap.
what possible reason could there be to restrict people from spending their already earned star coins?

You've been buying them with star coins? I thought 1500 star coins was a joke, but then I don't buy premium apart from the one day a week I can get from star coins. VLT is 600 map fragments in the adventure section of the merchant.
Yeah adventures with star coins is pretty horrible as the coins sold as nukes are worth 2-4x more in trade where you can buy the advs too.
For the shop removal note that the temporal removal was edited out from the original link and is uncertain in the forum comments too. Also it has been said (or rumored ;)) in other forums that they would disable the shops to block the one day premium and nukes for too fast progress so half of the servers would not hit the max lvl fast again at least without gem premiums and benefit to BB.
Star coins should be put in loot for all lvl50+ adventures, ie Alibaba series and some more to come.
i can't blame BB if they make them available again at lvl 75. Starcoins were introduced to replace xp at lvl 50 and we get xp again. So they would need to come up with new stuff again, when people reach lvl 75. That wouldn't make sense :)
Tho i will be disappointed if we can't spend them anymore. I will have a large amount that will sit doing nothing for a while
Personally, I think it would be cool to have to get to level 75 without the epic buffs - a lot of us got to level 50 even without premium, and it was only once we reached that tier we started getting bored.
So for BB to introduce the extra levels only to have us buff kill our way through a lot of it seems pretty pointless IMHO. What will people do once they have reached Level 75 so fast? I'm guessing the forum will again be full of players complaining that the game has become stale and boring, as I previously have..
Whatever BB decide on this, I'm totally looking forward to all the new content as it's been a long time coming. This time though, I'm going to venture into it more slowly and enjoy it while I can :cool:
I hope all they mean is that the conversion of xp to stars will stop as by default you are getting xp again.
Surely no need to do anything as the game mechanics *should* stop the conversion as you are again allowed to get xp.
Would allow people to still spend the star coins they have earn't, until they run out, or hit 75 and start getting more again.
If they keep the rate of increase from current levels, you´ll need hundreds of millions of XP to get to lvl75. That´s anything, but fast, even with premium. If they just seal the epic items, we wont be able to buy them for years to come. No point of doing that. Especially for kill buffs.
However people would whine when others can buy nukes and one day premiums and others can't. They might just auto convert star coins back to xp and nothing have a word about it. No one could then whine that I can't use my star coins and no one can whine that others can buy stuff.

Well, on the thin information we have to go on, this is what should have happened years ago and was asked for again and again in this very place.
I would welcome it with open arms IF it had followed on from a specific point in time.
It looks like BB are belatedly coming around to returning to the core Settlers game we loved, but the interim messes they've created are not going to make this easy.
The star coins topic has already been aired quite well, and any transition is going to be messy and probably please nobody, perhaps the least objectionable path would be to retain them as loot from adventures, and maybe lock out their use on the newer adventures?
Guild Quests, have got to be rebalanced. Nothing has ripped apart guilds more than these. The constant spamming of the same few adventures, especially when unavailable to obtain in the shop, the "out of level" quests where Level 46 players are expected to pay resources they cannot actually produce until Level 48 or higher are two of the most destructive. There should be an "opt-out", where a player passes on a quest and does not get ggcs as we can't all be chained to our computers 24/7.
So many bugs to address, some so old they are probably starting school!
With the expansion islands, does this make the shotfirer redundant? If so, can we have the old graphics back on our islands please? The new ones look horrible, square mountains and the complete loss of all detail in the lake south of "Golem Island" just to accomodate a grotty 1x1 tower which leads me to the 1 thing that really has to go. It's a failure, it does not work properly, it isn't PvP by any stretch of the imagination, and has no part in this game. Give it up as a bad job please, and make adventure loot worthwhile again. We're going to need it for the new levels. When I bought a year's premium, I expected the benefits to last a year, not to be taken away after just 7 months. :(
There are a lot of quick and simple fixes for these concerns about star coins. How about giving XP and star coins from level 50, with fairy tales giving XP and beans. That way everyone wins.
More items in the shop is always a good thing if people find they are good value, which is not true for a lot of items (500 beans for sandman's powder?)
The loot for most adventures was given a nerf last November which meant most were no longer worth doing, especially the laggy co-op ones. This could be rectified by adding the chance of a rare building that players would be tempted to grind for.
how bad is the exp needed going to be? it is already quite bad the progression scale makes me feel sick, im lvl 43 and looking at the scaling for the levels to 50 is horrid ...
imagine how bad the Exp scaling is going to be 50-75 adding more grind makes for a boring game where people quit you can kinda tell many have quit during the time ive been here and i bet thats because of the exp scaling . (ive stopped playing a few times for this reason)
BB what % of new people actually stay these days? this can be a dead slow game how you have set it up.
i can already see how empty the Trade office is and global and all chats since i last took a break
please dont say more exp scaling and higher exp rewards from adventures is balance and content more grind isnt content we all know thats lol.

I had a long break from when I got to level 45. When I finally wanted to get to level 50, I used Nords and BK. To give you an idea, 1 BK or Nords a day will get you to level 50 from level 49 in a month. That's 805k xp. I'm also feeling kind of wary about what kind of XP will be required for levels 50 to 75, but I think the point is that BB want to keep long term players interested, the kind of players who have already been around for 2 to 3 years, and especially the players who buy premium. If it takes them a month to level up, that probably suits BB really well!
I think a lot of people get bored of the game around level 35 though and it is a lot slower to hit a new level. Do adventure. Kill off troops. Build more troops. Do adventure. Rinse, repeat.
they toke my experience and give me 200k star coins. they promisse me rainbows and unicorns. they put back experience and they wont let me lvl up with star coins. they are robbing me!
[ you remove money from the economy and turn into comercial paper. later, you put money back and dont alow people to convert their comercial paper into money again. you'r stuck with all that comercial paper and cant buy almost nothing. its a scam, a plain sight robbery! ]

Super laggy there so not had chance to see much... level 60 to 61 is over 9 million xp though... kind of ballpark expected area.
I think the star coin issue is a big topic at the moment. How will these be obtained when the new levels arrive? A small trickle will come from scenario's but that's about it.
I Buy Instant's, gems & 1 day token every week atm using starcoins. Obviously that wont go on unless I can earn loads of star coins from now till launch so again can we have clarification on what's happening with the star coins.
The general theme seems to be based on German forums and sites that star coins will be removed for good as in possibly never brought back in the same form. The items will be removed or moved to be gained other ways such as loot or etc. BB Orowa said short summary might be posted this or next week about gamescon so it might have better info.
