I have had some success with people using this workaround:
1)open facebook in one tab and open the game in another
if that does not help
2) close the facebook tab and reload the game
if either of these 2 options work, please post here and let us know
Still got issues logging in also as already stated started last week for me stops at half way using firefox or ie orchrome makes no difference at all same problem takes a few hours of trying to log in the bar stops at the second loading screen and will not go past the girls feet in the bunny costume will you at least please let us know you are aware of the problem and that youy will try to fix this

I have different guess about those problems with login into game server, which gets stuck at 40%. Nothing with ubisoft login as I was hypothesizing. Nothing with Facebook login, as others suggested. Nothing with 64bit OS, which by these days everyone is on. As you noticed lately the chat in game is rebooting happily at any moment it can. Last few days even more then first few days of this event. Just every time you see the process for game server login at 40% is hitting "1%-2%" CPU speed (crawl speed), just terminate the flash plugin with task manager and reload flash.
My guess is, the game server login process needs to chat with chat server before letting new players in and I think there is some issue. Heavy load of some kind?
So another day another log in issues where still taking so long to log in it has been like this for over a week
It does not matter which browser I use still the same it get to the ladys feet and then nothing just sits and sits and sits
even with refreshes it still does not move what is play if you can get in!

Beyond a joke, just wasting time in a futile effort to play the game. Unable to log on today despite trying all suggested ideas. Wasting premium time and how do BB expect to get any new players when you cant even log on.
Same here, logged off, rebooted, logged back on froze at login screen on both slim browser and web browser.
same will not log in and they wonder why players quit when u can,t even log being going for week fix the bloody thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have it to slow Loading time.
For a hole day I can't log in .... using Chrome version 73.0.3683.103 (Official Build) (64-bit).
does it give the error popup?
try logging in through voucher section on the homepage.
try opening a few tabs and spamming login on them.
Been trying to log on for 4 hours now and stuck at about 1/3 across loading screen
If stuck refreshing can work better than just waiting.

This is known issue that BB are currently working to fix. Please read the community update that was recently posted.

Another possible workaround that has been known to work is to open and close facebook in a seperate browser tab. For some unknown reason this has also been known force the game to load. Don't ask me how, this is just something that other players have noticed and works for them.

This login problem completely ruined the Easter Event for me as I was on holiday and only had my laptop. The game was taking so long to load I couldn't spend hours waiting so had to give up, or rush what I had to do when I finally got in. I lost all my Easter Eggs at the end as a result because I couldn't get in during the small window they left us. The extra quest was stuck in my Quest Book unplayable, so it was a complete nightmare. Loads of time and effort completely wasted.
This issue has gone on far too long. The workarounds don't work for me as I use a Mac and there are no instructions for Mac versions.
This issue had to start sometime, probably after an update, so whatever was done during that update must have broken something as I can't see all the browsers changing something all at the same time to cause this. They must know what they did just before the issue started, so work backwards from there to find the problem.
It's simply unacceptable and I'm rapidly losing interest in this game now as the number of bugs keeps rising, with this login one being the most disruptive, at least for me.
The game really needs more feedback on what it is doing during the loading process, a simple loading bar does not really give anything away other than "its stuck".
If the players were reporting that the game was getting stuck loading a specific file then it would probably be an easy fix, but until they put more tools in the hands of the players for diagnosing this issue, they are unlikely to make much progress unfortunately.
the horror of sunday, no settler!!! the network shows that the download is stuck or broken!!! never seen it to recover!!! usually it should start loading the game after 250MB download approx 2.5min, but today the download took longer and many refresh, still no luck getting in
