Any updates? We are now at 4 weeks after this updte on 3/17/21
"Unity Test-Server: You will soon be able to take a first look at the Unity version yourself. We are currently planning to give you access to the test server within the next 2-3 weeks."
:) well said
1350 this is the number of days what is passed since Adobe announced the end of flash. Just saying, no pressure guys...........
the new unity based game can´t even handle the test server, how will it handle the real world game with all the players logged in?
this does not bode well for the unity version…
new delay in 3, 2, 1…
The Unity Test Server does not have the same capacities as our live environment, there may be longer loading times or decreased performance. In the first hours of the launch, we saw a lot more players than we expected. We were working on our server, so access should be much easier now.
you see?
this bothers me some, because that's twice you've said it, and it just sounds even worse the second time around…
you weren't expecting players to test the game they've been waiting to play for months now? :D :D
this is why i said the game wont be able to handle the "real world" environment, because of remarks like these.
time will tell i guess...
It's server capacity, not Unity functionality. Live servers have connection capacity related to the usual traffic, so does test server. Servers can get overloaded by "too much" traffic. Overloaded test server (at first launch) says nothing about performance of live servers. They should do just fine as with Flash. If Unity demands more traffic then Flash, which I assume it does, capacity of live servers will be increased. No need to worry ....... :)
Performance testing is part of the testing that should usually be done before application goes live, and, originally, the test server was provided for that exact purpose. So you're wrong on 2 levels ;)
1) test server should naturally have higher capacity than live servers to verify what is the amount of resources needed for live servers to work properly before they have any chance to fail
2) it also shows they fail at executing usual testing strategy, if they cant even provide enough resources for players to do functional testing, let alone load testing.
It says ALOT about the issues that can be there few months from now.
They didn't do performance testing this time. They just wanted to show you that they really are working on Unity and have some work done so that the scaremongers stop creating conspiracy theories. :) Obviously not everybody will be satisfied and some scaremongers will continue.
may is practically out the window, and the new launch date appears to be june now, since the summer event is in june, which means, yet another deadline missed by BB, what a total shocker :D :D :D :D :D
and people thought that cyberpunk's launch went sideways :P
this launch timeline set by BB looks a lot like a mexican soap opera :D :D :D …being that the only difference between the two is that the soap actually runs :D :D :D :D
…i must say, BB's programmers must be the worst in the world. i just have a question, do you guys look for the worst or are they just atracted to that company? :)
maybe the covid virus did,,, so that there fever at work at BB
Please - pretty please wait - don't implement anything until you have a version that actually works.
I don't know what you fixed- I don't know if you implemented the fixes to the test server. But if you did not, how can you know they works??
I do know that when I last was online on test, it was not a well working version. If you put that mess online you will make people stop playing.
I also know that I have not been able to log on to test for around 3 weeks now.

With the quality of support you will shut out players one by one, when their island data is corrupted, and they are told that it is a known issue, that it is already fixed or that they must reset cache. Only thing I did that can have caused my problem is to sell settlers in harbor.
I don't think you will find many players that are so keen on this game that they will set aside 2- 4 hours a day to sent out specialists. Or put up with the time differences between server and game, and the zone refreshes and the ..................
The "live version" is different from the test server - it will contain updates.
you said this in chat also problem is then who has tested the new version who has spotted the new or old bugs that have meant to have been fixed yet havent? because you dont have the staff to have thousands of hours of testing done thats why you have relied on us the players to do that... but we cant if it is not uploaded to the test server first so we can play it... the test version still has bugs that have not been dealt and I can pretty much guarantee come the 21st I will be here saying you didnt fix it etc etc
I feel similar way about untested "live" version. I actually expect lot of bugs for first few months, so not looking forward to it. The fact of i"live" version not being seen by any players amplifies that feeling. There was too much non-functionality in what we were able to see and I don't think "live" version will be much better then that. Which will probably result in my very reduced playing after bugged Unity version goes live. In my mind there is no doubt it will be bugged.
If that was an attempt to show that they are working on it, I am even more scared. They have had more than 2 years and that is the best attempt :p
Sadly nothing to be thankfull for - they just keep on misinform us, and then they place a bomb on us by making a downgrade of the game to a bugged unity they told us would be fixed before release.
