We seem to enjoy another "smart" design decision - one of the event resources is collected bellow some level, the other - above it. Now, with all troubles with the client change it seems that there are not new starters. Will you offer some cake dough in some other ways or like some of the previous events - whole branches of the quests will stay useless because of designers' overwhellming themselves?
Unplayable
This is the first event I have missed in years this event serves no other purpose then an attempt to line your pockets and gives no concern to you player base should of been held off until it was running smooth
could we please get a game that is working BB_trafffer
Will there be any performance fixes during event or are we min of 3 weeks from next update?
I'd have preferred that time was spent on sorting out the game to make it actually work properly and be playable than on this event (which I've never liked anyway).
Everything is still either crawling at about the speed of plate tectonics, it still takes several clicks to do anything, and/or it's still freezing. And I have a fast computer and fast internet connection so the issues are not at my end. It's maddening, makes the game virtually unplayable, and I won't be trying much longer.
As for the event, I logged on yesterday but the event apparently hadn't started and there was no event window. I've logged on today but I would have to use gems to open door 1. Not happening. I'm not happy.
Event going fine for me so far. Not having any problems other than the minor 'Irritations' I posted a week ago & which no-one read because only the complaints about connectivity, lagging etc seem to interest anyone who uses the Forum. Why am I so different? Newish PC, broadband not especially fast but then I never had problems with Flash or the Client when they were the subject of all the complaints. ???????????????????
Please don't abuse me for this post. I doubt if I'm the only one who feels this way but it is running a risk of abuse just to say so.
Turned of my Festival Hall. This has stopped being fun and become a chore, and that is not why we play games; be they online or in real life.
There are always alternative sports/games and I already play several. I will login each day to keep my gem pits running and in the vaguest hope that the company can get the programmers off their back sides to do some work to fix this.
It is a travesty that BB/Ubisoft have been allowed to destroy a great game.
Yesterday a member of my guild tried to make a petite cake. No cake and lost candles and dough.
Today I lost 500 candles trading for dough in the Provision House seemed to work but then no dough and candles gone.
Yesterday I put up a trade for dough. It appeared in my history as sold but no dough. Today now also gone from my History.
Refresh did nothing :(
I have checked my star and nada.
woohoo after what seemed for ever and checking constantly dough is now in my star but dare I make a cake :D
Yes, I agree. I liked this game. It was quite fun, even though it's taken me a very long time to get to level 52 - and now I've stalled because I'm not risking any adventures. But now it's too much effort and it simply isn't fun any longer. It's extremely frustrating, more repetitive than it was, and has become very boring.
Because of this never-ending and disgusting lag I lost again 100 gems ... instead of selecting normal upgrade, the lag made me click on instant upgrade.
This game became a terrible disappointing joke.
just to have some more stuff :P
after x years playing, most is just fluff anyway and in the category nice to have
Please remember to donate your balloons - they don't count if you keep them in your storage. I can see enough balloons in our Settler storages to reach the goal!
FFS feed the hamsters powering the server farm the lag is horrendous, zone refresh ratew makes everything so damn hard !!
LMAO I'm having that deja vu feeling again ( Look back to the feedback in last years event ) Well I give credit where credit is due Trafffer you at least did not copy/paste.
I find it very interesting that in BB towers you can see things you want to, but can't deploy the unity version without so many bugs despite months of preparation and help from testers. I did not believe this donation bar representing anything like real life when it was first created. Last year watching you present the case with `data' was some what amusing especially when you consider if your figures were correct, with such a huge player base how could you afford to lose so many with the debacle of your switch to unity with so many bugs? Now you expect us to believe with a game in such a state there are enough players playing to reach 200 000 000 balloons after four days of struggling play. All I can say is you obviously owe a lot to the hacker of the client as in four days with unity I've not even got to my first personal target and I am seriously considering turning off the FH altogether. As that is the last thing left in the event for me as ` adventuring is no longer an option with jumping generals and no functioning retreat button'. I might just be popping balloons rather than donating them!
Hi, I produced 500 dough from 1000 candles, but I not see the dough in storage house, it's disappeared. No dough, no candles, thumb up for the game :). I refresh the game log out, log in but still nothing. Help
Are we genuinely being told that someone in that office took the time to check all the accounts/servers to see how many balloons are in stores? ''If'' they did then the time could have been better spent working on more important issues - there is a long list of these on the forums.
it is a simple script
Of Course, everything made in provision house goes to star, my fault :)
BB you need to STOP with the hundred of quests to complete an 11+ adv!! I'm glad you decided to retire misty cake from the quest chain - that was not a great quest but neither is an 11+ adv. This event is already a struggle for lower levels (and that's without throwing Unity into the mix!). At least if the quest was to complete a lvl 9+ adv that would give everyone a fighting chance - that would add a scenario and some easier and more abundant fairytale maps with loot spots. As it is, any lower level player needs to rely on a loot spot that only a couple of advs can provide, neither of which are quick to complete and they are therefore priced out of in the trade office. Assuming they even make it in to the trade office! I know the whole point of this event is to encourage community spirit but that would more likely be achieved if lower levels at least felt they stood a chance of completing at least one of the quest chains.
Also, please stop giving useless generals as rewards - I have never once used a field medic general and I very much doubt I ever will. Even a regular geologist would have been of more use and I haven't used one of those for years! Can I suggest for the next anniversary event, BB show some community spirit and perhaps take a vote on which big ticket items they give as rewards in the quest chains before the event is implemented so that players at least have an incentive to complete the quests.
lol
I really love this game and I play it a lot. After the change I found my large bag of positivity and another one of patience, and applyed it to this game.... however they are almost empty now. I always go all in on events and I have tried to this time too. However the game functions so badly that I just cant do what I normally would do.
Last year I did all the rounds and all the quests, manageing to get the scoutpost. This year, with 4 days left I am currently at round 5 and in the quest chain for the scoutpost Im not even halfway. lvl 11 adv are almost impossible to do and I got really frustratet two days ago, when I realised that finishing rounds and questchains will be impossible... (And that the few guildies that actually did finish.. did so by using the old client.)
The fact that it refreshes all the time makes something as mondaine as sending out explorers and accepting the mails they return with, a very difficult and time consuming task... and I have entirely given up on all alis.
Sorry for the ranting, Im just sooo frustrated.
Pleas please give me back my game... I really miss it.
I'm not going to comment on how impossible it is to play this event without using the old client as much has already been said about that and I'm not sure BB are taking any notice. Focusing my feedback solely on event, +1 vote (x 1,000,000 if I could) to get rid of that awful 'complete an 11+ adv' quest. I could just about understand if you absolutley had to include it just once towards the end to provide a certain level of difficulty and therefore feeling of attainment but there are so many of them that it makes that quest impossible for so many players.
Also, the sheer number of quests in the quest chain (the one that gives you a scouting post at the end) along with 10 whole rounds of the celebrathon quest - it was doable in 3 weeks last year even for those that could only play a short while per day but to do them all in 2 weeks requires a really intense level of playing. You either need to decrease the number of rounds, remove the quests that send explorers on searches or increase the length of event to 3 weeks again next year otherwise players will very quickly realise they won't get through them all and give up as the rewards generally aren't worth it until you get to the end.
You also really need to have a proper look at which players are still active and have been active for a while. There are a lot of dead accounts on the servers and a lot of new players who give up really quickly - the level you have set for players to receive dough is still too low - It should be in the 60s.
Finally, I think rewards have been mentioned above. I am grateful BB give us freebies in events but I think you need to reconsider what players actually appreciate. Field medic generals, even for low level players, are not useful but just add to the clutter of star menu. Anyone who has been playing for a couple of years will most likely have a few scouting posts - I had 3 before this event and I didnt 'buy' a single one. I could already use it once a day if I really wanted to, a 4th one is really not necessary and just takes up a lot of land to build it. However, I do want to say thanks that the most useful reward (old school barracks) was given after round 5 of celebrathon - this makes it fairly attainable for almost everyone - low levels, casual players etc.
Perhaps when designing next years anniversary event BB, look at it from the perspective of the average player - if you're not sure who that is then maybe do some sort of poll or survey to find out. My guess is it would tell you it's a player at a mid - late 60s level who has been playing for a few years and maybe spends one or 2 hours a day playing. Consider what they would find useful and where to draw the line between challenging and just plain impossible.
Before you do any of that though PLEASE FIX UNITY!!
You’ve talked a lot about the challenges, but the deep truth, it is possible, has to do with the existence of a program that has stirred a major international storm. Yes. This is the Pegasus program. Let’s play with this idea a bit. If you rule out all possibilities, no matter how depressing, you get the truth. What is the truth in this case? Money, money, money. Unfortunately, nothing else matters, so only users get annoyed.
I don't actually mind the lv 11+ addy quests over and over but celebrathon chain and scouting post chain do start to get annoying when you need to do a venture, then a scenario, then lv11+ and so on.
Fully agree about the rewards, stop giving us field medic general????
Didn't BB say they redesigned the event calendar since it's gonna be 2 weeks only? You call this a good calendar? 50 arquebuse/500 adv tools/500 mahogany planks on a special door, this is a joke, not to mention the other doors.
The dough stuff is a non-issue since you can just convert candles into it. Any high level players will get more than enough candles from explorers to make enough cakes to last the event (If they could actually send out explorers at the moment). The scouting post is still useful for players that don't have them, but no players who still need the scouting post are going to be high level enough to actually reach that part in the questline.
The funny thing about this event is it really shows how stupid the switch to the broken unity client was, we get a nice big progress bar showing that about half the players have given up the game vs last year, this doesn't even take into account any adjustments BB made to try and make it look like more people were playing.
Dear Settlers,
During this Event, you made the impossible possible and displayed the perfect example of how a community can come together to achieve even the most challenging of goals.
The second week's target was, under the present conditions, perhaps aimed a little bit high - but taking into consideration the number of Balloons you all still have in the game, we are sure that this goal was doable under normal conditions; you made it up to an amazing 80% of the goal!
To reward the efforts you made to make this event a happy celebration, we decided to hand out the full "Community Goal 2" Reward to all players who were active during this event!
We also want to inform you that the Adventure Bookbinder was noted as "Can be obtained once during this event". However, this was a remnant of the Text of 2020 and he did not make it into the Event of 2021. Instead, you got one of the lovely Balloon markets for your Island!
Thank you
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Thank-you too.
ty for the gifts. very nice :)
How did the number contributed this year compare to the number last year? That will give an insight into the state of the game
Phase 2 last year seems to have been 1.500.000.000 balloons and if memory serves me right this was achieved
