I told i have way different experience about leveling, mainly the lv50, because i was level ~45/48 pretty fast with adventures during the xmass event (so 5-6 weeks), I think my statement still valid, players leave not because of the leveling progress but because of more serious issues, stability, support etc others said if they leave from leveling then above 50 because till lv50 you can do easily then it became harder and need more grind, if between 1-10 became even more easy progress then it became more "shocking" the leveling afterwards (for that player who would leave because of that) and also more lv80 player became less active because reached the leveling goal so not sure if worth to make it more easier, that was my opinion.
If the game is exciting (forum/in game events), server is stable, you can play from anywhere, there is a solid customer support then leveling factor is a less important (personally i also like the guildfest event concept, just maybe with different reward but that could activate the players to do play, and collaborating event which makes it more fun)....
Other than that yeah, adding map fragments maybe make sense to the new players, but example in the guild often the higher levels already have too much and give free adv's to the low level players.
The rarity provision house is available at Christmas event. So you should have never encountered the same problem as someone starting in spring. I ended up having to buy one from the merchant because nothing but constant problems with map fragments. I am near 60 now but can't get YWC from the merchant because I need map fragments and now tomorrow they have a venture season which again requires map fragments. I would much have preferred to spend gems on generals but that lack of ability to generate map fragment is just a constant source of frustration.
You have right, i not experienced this issues, simple reason because the older players in most of the guild give you adventures, i do not see any sense to craft map fragment, rarity provision house is busy with crafting manuscripts (and grill steak buff if i have too less).
I am sure if example you ask then you can get YWC, also you can discover the TO (trade office) option where the players sell for other things, after you have YWC, simple you can sell the first/second/third thief adv in TO for other YWC from the YWC's loot so you can make YWC and you will never will out from it. (on sandyc. the players buy 2nd thief example for 10 YWC)
The non ali adventures (which also not rare like misty cake etc) the higher players often donate if you ask them because they can get via adventure search (what also an option to you if you buy more savage explorer for gem and send all of them for adv search between the events to prepare to the next event).
However most of the even favoritize the YWC (football, easter, xmass, anniversary and i guess halloween too), and makes it the most rewarded adv if we think to reward/time ratio, even now with 100% for ventures, still doing YWC because give better exp/rss compared with time and invesment
BTW you cannot get venture type adventure with mapfragment, only excelsior give it with crystal which not tradeable

Cheats and Programs
Any type of macro, script, bot or other program that can change the way the game interface works is strictly forbidden and could result in an immediate ban.
In regards to third-party extensions (like Chrome), we highly recommend users don't install software that can interfere with "The Settlers Online". While they may seem beneficial, they can jeopardise the security of your data, such as your login details. Both BB and cipsoft mods have stated ambiguous comments on this - BB has firmed this up multiple times after that that third party software is forbidden.
So as long as the in game rules cof conduct are not modified, they stand in my opinion - if they chose not to enforce em, is a different discussion entirely

Also they will not get extra resource or buffs etc, it has quality of life improvements, you should know if you tried, it is not a hack tool...

I also use client for buffing, sending explorers, I spent more hundred euro only just in the last few weeks for gems like many other player as well (https://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/shop), who want to cheat would not spend into a game because he knows he will lose it...
So what is the point to ban players who's really care about the server and support it as well even so much server issue, problems?
I am here with a longer break but still from 2011, never used cheats but client yes.
Then go ban me because I had less time I used for self buff my buildings with my own buffs, which created by own rarity prov. house from my own rss or sent the explorers what I bought with money and ban all client users then check how many player left when you start a coop adv, using Trade Office etc
I think to most of veterans who currently still active and help to new players from their own gathered rss and advice....
No one would use the client if the BB ever would fixed the pain point problems because:
- if i come online i do not want waste more than a half hour just to do a daily routine as buffing buildings, sending explorers after the work I have some free time (which maybe fun when u have 10 explorer and 40 building but not when you have 200-300) and so on...
- players love this game because they can do a chill adv, or talk with others, do a coops, expeditions, guild quest, pathfinder quests or participate to the current events, not to waste time each day with boring things then after they wasted (probably) half of their free time only because with the repeatable routine mechanism, lack of creative bulk/batch features/improvements...
That's not fun at all at higher level....

With regards to the migration, in the past I used an old university email to create my account as well as a mobile number from the country where I was studying. Since I moved back to my home country, I do not have access to the old uni email, nor the mobile number. I still have access to my tso account since I remember my password.
However with the forthcoming migration, I fear that if there is an authentication required via email or mobile number to log in on the new servers, I will not be able to do so.
Is there a way for me to change my account's email address and mobile number to ones that I can access? If there is a need to prove that it is my account, my uni email is my name and surname, so I can send a scan of my ID, and i believe cipsoft can also verify payments I have made when buying gems.
I have invested considerable amount of time and money into this account and I would be very sad of losing it because of migration to new servers. I do not know the future process of accessing my account when the migration occurs, but changing my account details to my current email add and phone number would make things easier in the future.
I hope CIPSOFT can help me to sort out this issue.
up till now, all cases i have heared with account issues that go beyond the regular ones you can fix with the online tools, cipsoft points at BB and shrugs shoulders and says we cant do anything, go there- and ubisoft doesnt help - which is logical as it doesnt serve their interests to do so anyway
So people lost accounts and no one seems willing to put in the effort to solve it

I lost mine too, with ~3-4 year progress, they said cannot do anything, I had facebook login long ago when the server was started, ubi said they cannot recover it, because i was inactive during they had the migration in 2014 september or maybe when they had the facebook migration, however maybe you can mail directly to Cipsoft (you can find their email address on their website) maybe you have luck,
If you get no help, then just create a new one on Sandycov and we can help (if your account was old like mine, then now easier to catch up than 10 years ago).
Moderators - what a wonderful contribution they make to the game. Selflessly giving their time to improve the experience of players. Helping and supporting, explaining rules and player bahaviours to ensure a suitable experience of the game for all who choose to play.
Years of experience has shown that the positive contribution of non-employees (i.e. unpaid volunteers) provides a valuable addition to the game.
I'd like to see moderators become a part of the game again - providing their valuable yellow text chat in global channels, and in whisper, to provide all sorts of information and updates.

Have you tried changing your email address via Ubisoft's account management? It's linked in your profile on the TSO website (My profile > Data change). If this doesn't work you can also try contacting our customer support and explain your case. Maybe they are able to help you.
To change either, you will need to confirm that it is really you, through the other authentication method. So if you have lost access to both, you can still log in with the login details, but you can no longer change anything on the account information
BB has been particularly unhelpfull in sorting these issues
