Here's my feedback :
- The quest chain looks the same as other quests in your Quest Log.
- There is a time limit of two weeks to complete it.
- The only in game notification of this time limit is in the change log.
This is what will happen :
- Quest vanishes from customers Quest Log on the 14th of March.
- Customer files a support ticket saying that the quest has vanished.
- Support respond saying there was a time limit to complete it visible in the change log.
- Customer responds saying there was no time limit in my Quest Log.
- Support respond saying customer was made aware, there is no issue.
- Customer feels a little bit stupid and a little bit cheated.
Here's how to easily resolve it before it happens :
- Add a timer to the Quest Log in the next maintenance update.
- Start the timer at 2 weeks.
Everyone who is complaining it's too hard and it's going to expire too quickly gets an extra week and you avoid annoying your customers by giving them a clear in game notification of the time to the quest being removed so they don't start it if they don't like the idea of a time limit.
Too difficult..? I think not.
Having been attempting these quests (level 45-50 tier) for the last few days, i've found the hardest one was actually the first one. Waiting 2 days to repeat a chance quest with a time limit that is ticking away while friends and guild members are trying to rush through them and not wait for anyone falling behind isn't the way online games are supposed to be.
Some expectations are a little too high, like waiting for 250 settlers to be produced (60h), 170 titanium bars to smelt (25h while buffed at level 1) etc.
I'd enjoy it much more if there were more little quests, even for buildings that people don't run often. As for adventure quests, limiting certain troops is more challenging than a luck based reward that might not even happen after doing all the adventures you are able to.
Positives from these quest chains are more trading, and more people doing adventures. People with a lot of resources are able to sell for a reasonable price again.
Haha yeah math-teacher wont be happy.
There are 2 slots for granite. The chance a slot gives granite is 12.5 + 25 = 37.5% But with 2 chances, you cant add it up.
The chance you find granite:
* granite in 1, granite in 2 -> 0.375 * 0.375 = 14 %
* granite in 1, no granite in 2 -> 0.375 * 0.625 = 23%
* no granite in 1, granit in 2 -> 0.375 * 0.625= 23%
added up: the chance at least 1 slot gives granite = 60%
Other way to calculate: Its 1 - change(no granite) = 1 - 0.625^2 = 61% (difference due to rounding)
37,5% is 3/8, so in the other way it's 39/64 chance for granite (60,9375%).
:P
>Find 600 Granite from 'Bandits Nest' loot - chance of granite from adventure is 33%, total average losses = 900R, 198S, 300C
not counting, that in first day, none ov my 3 explorerrs brought home granite, so that was 1 day wasted already... so im not so sure its physically doable, even if we spend gems like crazy...
Plus i dont own the Bandit nest adventure so need first find it...
Yes the bandit nest quest is nasty :s I noticed something interesting though, BB_Dantesama's maintainance post states "-(Will keep you updated regarding the crisis quest)" which for some reason wasn't copied onto the front page news.
I'm wondering if it will be giving us more time, or perhaps a change to some of the quests.. I'm wondering if I should hold off completing my second bandit adventure until we get more news on that.
Edit: I just realised it's a 2 day adventure, so there's not much point in waiting :p
first go at bandits nest - no granite returned and the delightful jumping general bug ruined the end of the adventure.

following killste's guide - my 50cav general got intercepted by the camp you block, my veteran made it to the leader camp before the 50 cav got to the "blocked" camp it was intercepted by. my veteran (and the troops got killed), leaving ~16-17 rangers (Appears in my mail first), my blocking general killed the camp it was blocking (appears in mail after vet attack - it is a 3 minute block), and finally my 50 cav (once released from intercepted camp after its destroyed) goes to kill the remaining rangers.
If I'd sent my generals in the wrong order my veteran would have been intercepted and instead my vet made it into the camp before I could consider recalling as it jumped 3-4 times into the leader camp before my cav made it to the camp they were intercepted in so failed to recall either.
not impressed....
my friend has done bandits nest 4 times and not hit granite... it needs to be complete adventure <bandits nest or whatever> and get granite OR complete the adventure 2x's.
In theory the game can stop you completing the 36-45 quest chain (Four winds) from the very first quest, if you're incredibly unlucky and don't get granite from the long treasure hunts at all... doing quests by chance/luck is unfair... this means that some people have absolutely no chance of completing this event quest no matter the time/resources available to spend...
