Crystals as collectibles

I'm generally in favour of the idea be something for collecting everything. I do it for OCD reasons mostly.

However, I'm much more worried about the devs messing with collies. Every event that has them there's something off with them.

Furthermore, I think what we need is more reasonable uses for the collectibles we already have, rather than even more of the collectibles, even though crystals would naturally be immediatley useful.

I think it would be a good idea to add 1 crystal occasionally to the collectibles and perhaps have the knowledge that one day you may find 2 or even more (doesnt matter if more is extremely rare) This is actually how banners work for me , I might find one if im lucky and then extremely rarely 2 or 3. So I think my situation is very similar to ClownSolo's . This would make a boring task a bit more worthwhile.

My opinions to some of the other points raised here:-

The speed at which the game is played is dependent upon the time that people have to play. Some have so little time they have to prioritise others do not. Currently collectibles are last on their list apart from a quick look for banners .

The collectibles ARE and should be the rewards we can do good things with them. But the rates we find them all need to be adjusted. A main reward at the end sounds nice and maybe it could be 1 crystal but I would far rather have the extra 'zing' of having to find it.

They have balanced everything around the current fixed numbers and adding even one more way would mess things. Remember that the crystals allow you repeatably to get gems and large amounts of exp. Even a single crystal per collectible spawn as complete reward or clickable item would mean players could get 100-150 extra gems a week for "free".

(The math: ~3 spawn per day, 7 days per week = 21 crystals. With the machine there's ~30% chance for letter parts + small chance for more crystals which makes it around 10 letter parts. With those you create 3 mini-quest chains that each reward you with 50 gems.

having a few crystals spawning on your isle or maybe on an adventure would be very nice

I was just saying the reasons why the suggestion will probably ignored as they also have indicated the same themselves. They are running a business and unless someone proves that the above math is incorrect even the small change would have a significant impact to their business plan.

You are calculating from the perspective that every collectible quest gives you 3 crystals, as far banners for example, if i collect 1 banner a day it's alot allready, most of the time theres no banner in sight at all, so my estimation of 10 banners a week would per definition also be 10 crystals a week, now your math with the excelsior bot is also wrong, your suggesting that to receive the 2 crystals there is a 33% chance while it is clearly not, I have spnet 500 gems on the bot in one go and got a total of 8x2 crystals and still need to complete the long letters quest, which by the way you also imply that you get 3 of them which is just blatantly absurd.

You math shows that you get all the good stuff every spin, while in reality it's just a mere 10% to get or a snippet or the x2 crystals

I think you should re-read what I wrote. I calculated it so that if you get a single crystal per spawn it totals to 3 per day. I also did not say any percentages for the double crystals slot reward, only for letter parts. If you are having statistically a bad time it does not mean the system needs a change. You can go to test server and use 100k gems and see what the percentage looks like for map parts when you roll 99 every time, or maybe check the French forums as they have had the patch for like 2 weeks.

You say you get 3 "Collect All" quests a day hmmm, maybe thats why I am so low on banners, am able to get me 1 quest per day.

Anyways, Isuppose your right, some are extremely lucky and some are extremely unlucky

Collect all happens every ~8 hours or so. I know some people often manage to collect everything before going to work, at/after work and before zzz.

I agree with lulu....
the more bb give us the more some players want. chillax and enjoy ur time on settlers, there's no rush. if bb give us more crystals the excelsior stuff will be done in no time at all and then e1 will be moaning they got nothing to do again. if u wanna get to 70 asap and finish all content ur playing the wrong game!
