i think not gen teleported directly to block camp and killed it....after gen destroyed the camp he headed for the next one i retreated him and did a refresh...camp was gone and so were the troops he had.....so not visual only m8
And we haven't even got to the 2pm, er no, 3pm, er 4pm bit yet.
I committed to never paying hard cash for gems to play this game a while ago when "support" displayed their "don't give a toss" attitude, but I would be actually annoyed if I had paid for this nonsense.

you should have done nothing and waited it would have been fine. i've done it 50 times at least never lost troops.
I do not understand why you keep doing maintenance in the middle of the day when you know most of the people who play the game will be playing. Im not sure how things work in Germany or even if the people there care, but to keep doing this at peak time over here is just pathetic.
No matter what silly gifts you give us at the end it still means all uk player again are loosing another 4 - 6 hours of game play. i cant log in to get my collectables, i cant send out my explorers, i had 1 hour left on an adventure which now ill loose. i have 3 hours left premium which ill loose...
I have paid good money for gems to play the game, so the least i expect is some warning that the game will be going down. As always though BB do not care about the players in any way. if they did they would not do this in the middle of peak time.

maybe they dont want to pay their employee 3x the usual rate for burning the midnight oil... also this is an international server so no matter when they do it it's going to be some1 primetime. not everything centers around the UK.

they shouldn't pay their employees anything seeing as they cant get it right in the first place. and no if they do it at night here in the uk it is still night in the whole of europe give or take 1 or 2 hours. so again that is not peak for everyone
Yeah.. gone are the days of staying on an adventure to watch a block. Now I find it's better to send the block then go back to my home island and check out the TO (or whatever) and then head back to the adventure a few minutes later to find all is as it should be! ... thanks BB! :rolleyes:

Maybe BB can inform us a little more about the bugs or improvements they are fixing during the downtime.
i have been playing for 3 years and i see a alarming increase in the unplanned maintenance. Please stop this from escalating out of control if it is not already to late.
Seems to me like BB is not caring about mines depleting or adventures form reaching there time limit or building running out of buffs.
I do not care if there is a planned maintenance for one whole day if announce more than lets say 2 days in advance. Right now it is every time, Fix --> new problem --> new fix --> different problem --> different fix.
I work in a complex technical environment and if i was to do it even once this way there would be a thank you without flowers.
I know that the people form support and all the mods are working very hard and are committed to this game but i do not think that they can solve this situation.
This is pathetic to the highest degree. Someone's playing a bad joke on us. I didn't have time to login this morning so now i cannot login till afternoon and who knows how much longer they will extend these so called improvements that they are doing for weeks now. The stupid gifts we get do not cover my island loss (my gold chain is now running unbuffed, explorers idling, mines down etc).
Just pathetic, they cannot do their things at maintenance time or in yesterday's downtime.

Guys, guys... they're hotfixing the hotfixes and we're also back to the futu... i mean beta. *Sigh*
I agree, we're back in the future, but PvP is in late alpha/early beta now and they need to hot-fix the optional add-on and all the bugs it brought. Thumbs up for their effort!. One thing for sure - play TSO over weekend, no way for the devs to decide on any deployment at that time!

They figure that most of the important people, who pay for the game, will be at work earning the cash they need to play!
Now I have paid for a small amount of gems for top ups etc, so I am a paying player... But since the introduction of PVE and all the bugs I am very unwilling to part with cash for bad decisions by the designers... Not when I can play World of Tanks for free!!!
my suggestion. in the next few days they will do another 100% gem sale.. if you realy are unhappy with the way we are treated " DO NOT BUY GEMS" that is the only way they will listen.
they control what you can and cant say in public ( just like the old days) you cant have an honest opinion. And they are happy to take your hard earned cash without giving any real customer service. or any guarantee of game play. Waste of space programmers or code writers need sacking. dont create the problem in the first place just before an event, then you wont be spending the next three weeks trying to fix it. simples
So, shortly before the shutdown I saw a message, apparently from Ravel, that someone had pasted into NorthIsle's G1 channel.
I don't remember the exact wording but it contained a message about how they knew it was going to anger/frustrate us but that there was going yet another Hotfix maintenance in an attempt to make sure that everything was in order before the BB offices shut down for the Christmas Holidays.
However, there was no hint of apology for this ire/frustration... and there was me thinking that it was against the code of conduct to say things that would intentionally anger other players.... so, can I get an actual slap in the face with that, please? (It probably won't annoy me as much as the metaphorical one!)
Letting off some frustration aside, though, I do have a serious point to make here:
Given that Blue Byte knows that shutting down the game for unscheduled hot fixes causes anger/frustration... and given that angry/frustrated players don't tend to spend money on the game... how on earth is is sound business policy to keep rolling out events (and other updates) that are riddled with bugs that usually have been identified on the test server week/months in advance, that warrant all these hot fixes we've had lately?
I mean, why on earth would anyone consider making long term term investments is such things as 360 day premium, gem pits or endless copper mines in the current climate where we can't even be sure the game will be playable the next time the developers introduce an update?
TSO's lead designer has, apparently, already publicly admitted that their goal is to "keep (us) addicted and make (us) keep playing".
Well, heres a hint, Herr Weidemann, we can only "keep playing" if we can, you know, actually log on!
As someone who only plays during my lunch hour at work this is greatly inconveniencing me as 2 days in a row I haven't been able to enter the game. During the Christmas event this is just not on.
heres my suggestion to all of you lot moaning - shurrup, delete the game and move on - what is your moaning achieving? just pages of negativity - really - who is twisting your arms keeping you here, you dont like it- walk away, if you do like it, then suck it up and have some patience - honestly - [removed]

if anybody buys gems after the way they have run the game and introduced known buggy code they need thier head examining....
only the very stupid would buy gems the way the game as it has been for the past 2/3 months......
like the saying goes "a fool and thier money are soon parted"...lmao
the weekly maintenance use to be done around breakfast - lunch gmt long ago, They moved this so it ran overnight back in 2012 after many complained. Even though not everything centres around gmt/uk these servers are directed at Europe and the appropriate time zones. So it makes perfect sence to do the maintenance out of prime time for the servers.
Im sorry but encouraging players to leave the game, clearly u do not support this game.

i love this game - but it is that - a game - not worth getting stressed out about, and if its causing enough stress to make people moan about it, then yes you should leave - its not making you happy anymore :D
