I'm confused.com because C3 can be taken out with 270MM for no loss. All the EvilJ guides numbering is the same https://prnt.sc/i63te0. Wondered if it was a numbering mix up?
No it's correct.
Almost every camp can be taken out more cheaply or for no loss by not using Mary. I've listed the cases where I thoguht it might make sense and had a go at those. 35MSw loss for 5670 XP extra + posisble prem is "reasonable" to me. There are several more camps like that on the map. next one is C6.
Some slackers have only tested very low additional losses or no losses. I went for everything one could reasonably do. Someone even crazier can do a guide where they clear absolutely every camp with Mary but it won't be me.
I don't use evilj guides or maps, could you please say which camps these are, as in which troops they hold? thanks :)

Updated mine .. you are looking at the wrong camp ... the 50/50 camp at start yes 20 MS and 160MM works well ... the camp with 160 Mounted Bowman is killable with 215 MS and approx 58MS losses .... as shown in the guide both the old version and updated version this isn't worth it unless you also have fast learner 3 and prem.... and even then it may still depend on how many YWC's your explorers find per day/week, current queue in elite barracks, whether you are after loot or xp etc for whether this is worth it to you.
No specifics from me - just a general comment that I have found lots and lots of use for Mary and am collecting much more experience on many adventures because of it. I trained her with 3 books in charge and improved accuracy (and of course max experience bonus) and it's amazing how many adventures I've found where she can hit with small or no losses, or perhaps with a lead in first wave by another general to weaken the camp. The more I look the more I find. Great general if you spend the time hunting the special opportunities.

I have made a guide for the Cutter adventure. It is a little extreme but it uses Mary with the Fast learner and Bounty hunter skills. Max tested losses is 112 Mounted Swordsman using the first aid skill. And I get over 260k experience and 90 star coins. With the elite barracks at level 6 and some good buffs you can pretty much do the adventure over again all day and not go through all your trained Mounted Swordsman.

there really isn't any need for a guide to using mary since you can use any existing guide and just substitute mary into it.
if mary can take the camp with acceptable losses thats what should be done. BTW don't forget you can do a sacrifice 1r MMA hit to make it more economical or even burn up those extra recruits you've been earning with a 265 recruit vet or 285 maj gen.

How do you "just substitute" Mary for MG? She has 70 less units, that's a big difference. Sometimes attacks fail horribly if you are 5 mm/am short.
You will have to sim to get the best army composition. And that is what we do. We do the simming for you and we tell what camps have good xp.
Budgy, could you make your 2 posts from previous page into one with all your remarks for Evil Queen chain in them? I'd prefer to make a link to one post (given that there aren't many camps in total).
And also, please write what skills your Mary has :)
with generals having skills your general may be very different. Its best to run the various camps yourself in a sim to find the best combinations of troops.
about the ONLY real point of guides is the blocks and starting locations for generals now.
If a 200 troop general can take the camp....so can mary. that's the general rule. Losses are of course expected to be higher then a MG/MMA/vargus/etc and its if they are acceptable or not if u use mary.
Mary is powerfull enough that in two places in Young Woodcutter I let her get intercepted and take down 2 camps at once with only one of those needing an 1r MMA before(or risk lossing a few mounted marksmen).
Mary can take out every L camp(from evilJ guide) in woodcutters except the very last one.

Thanks, there's one version of ToK (unskilled + skilled Mary), but I've added your post in spoilers with other skilled-only versions, ToK is quite confusing, so it's good to have at least one version for those who use Wiki's camps numbers.

After some chat, we discovered the reason for this misunderstanding.
Unfortunatelly, using the guide starting from land zone makes it a completely different camp, so that's the reason for losses.

The proper block (Evil, corona) with 106MS + 60AM lasts 320s (Tavern), 170s (MOD - or 180s if 1MS less) or 160s (BHG) - all versions are safe, even BHG, but ...
Aggro zone walk is around 40s + fight 52s = 92s needed block, and Tavern with 148MS would go for 100 seconds, so leaving a slight margin (8 seconds) for Vargus or Major with Conf. Leader-2 (like required). Horseshoes increase that safety margin even to 13s (Br.) or 15s (Plat.).
So the block holds and you don't need to re-assign troops for the next sector, since 148MS is the proper block for Camp15 :)
Sure it's easy to mess up, if someone uses Vargus without Conf. Leader-2 and forgets to re-check the times or if you don't use precise placement, but more of a flying start (with flag count).
For now, only VLT + HLT, other three (BLT, Sons, CLT) with just 1-2 attacks and not much XP.
Skills for Mary Christmas: Master Planner, Annex-3, Charge-3, Overrun-3.
Naturally, Charge-3 needed only if Cavalry used, and Overrun-3 if fight against a Boss unit (no such fights so far).
