So my island look like global warming hit it overnight and everything is flooded. I experienced the connection issues mentioned previously. On top fo that there are a bunch of things that don't work anymore.
Provision House & Rarity PH - broken
Can't send explorers/geos - no pop-up once selected.
Building Menu broken - no pop-up once selected
Concert hall broken - same issue
And the list goes on.
Tried Chrome and Firefox, same results.
Clearing cache and running a cleaner did nothing to improve things.
Trying to be patient but........

I can now log-in to game using a VPN. I don't know the reason why but happy I can.
Windows 10, 24 gig ram, 2 gig graphic card, Memory Cleaner working in Background 24/7
Before comments about the latest upgrade I would like to mention that I like the Graphic Tweaks to the appearance of the screen, trashcan instead of cross in mailbox,
rearranged Items when choosing an item to trade to a friend to name a couple. There are more, subtle but appealing.
The upgrade for ME is a nice improvement. The Explorers can be sent out a lot faster, yes small delays but still much faster before. Buildings open cleaner.
Island scrolls a lot smoother and clicking is more positive than before. Yes I'm comparing to Day 1 Unity.
Generals open cleaner but there is still problems with Generals swapping when loading troops or sending to attack or ticking Generals to send to adventure.
Generals still can't be retreated once 1st fight begins or lot of Generals sent for attacks in one go.
Mailbox is still the same and I have to reload every time I open mail as I get WAIT BOX many times.
There is a Green Dot above my lower avatar but not any of the other players online. Guild Chat does not show history often or no text at all for days.
This is main way of knowing our Guild Friends are online so we can support or help them. NEEDS TO BE FIXED PLZ.
In the Guild Members Info area, tabs don't work. For Guild Admin this is a drag.
Apart from a lot of players not able to load Game (Big Issue really), the latest upgrade has made a big impact to gameplay movement for me.
Lots of small hotfix upgrades will be good for players to see changes happening.

Every time I play the game after the maintenance process on 4 Aug 2021, "Connection to the server has been lost..." take me out the game.

I have try to play both under Windows and Mac with Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
Chat no longer works. Combined with the fact that I cannot see who's online and who isn't, trades for star menu cannot be done.
I was wondering if the devs tried to logon as normal users and do some basic tests prior to release the "update".
I strongly believe that this update was done just for the show. Nothing really important changed ... at least for better.
Why can't you reverse to the client version and have the test servers do their job ?
Yep, VPN works to get in but why can you only access it that way?.
Tried Japanese server.. wouldnt let me in.. U.S server and was straight in there.. tried disabling once I was in.. but straight back to no connection.

OK, so that sounds like i better can stay away from the game....
Its now safe sleeping till i log back in again, wich i hope will be soon, but it depends if its a game that can be played or that its unplayable, at this moment its the last...
I'll keep checking here for more updates, hoping for the messages that the game is back...as in really back as it was, not this less then accepable game it is now....

I can't build anything, can't send explorers or geologists. My provision house only has copper on every tab. My whole island won't load - just patches of blue everywhere.
I can't finish quests.
It's 100 per cent worse and I've persevered with not being able to get in all day.
No chat windows at all.

Just moved oil from star to mayors house, then I had enough oil to upgrade marble mason, clicked upgrade, it started then a zone refresh took place and stopped the upgrade, waited for another zone refresh for it to restart but it did not happen, tried a refresh and it still did not restart, now I do not have enough oil to upgrade that building and no more oil in my star, where has my oil gone
Just to chip in with a few data:
Using older gaming laptop with Win 7 and Chrome ......... if that helps anything.
Game loads slower then before update, especially buildings on the island take longer to load.
Star Menu generally works a bit faster but micro freezes and lag still happen, so by far not hassle free. Also picking different gen/exo/geo still happens sometimes, and even the click-through to objects below still happens occasionally. Lag and freezes happen in game in general, but seem to be more frequent when Star Menu is opened. That's for critical issues - still a lot to do.
Obviously other bugs were introduced (like gray stuff in Star Menu, Quest Book not accessible etc.) and dozens bugs from the past still persist, which I will not detail on as they have been reported by others elsewhere multiple times.

Well, at least the UI scaling annoyance is fixed :) But the speed improvements are not noticable here, better luck next time :D
As explorers started to work better. ie sending them out, now ALL chats gone. Great!
Still begs the questions why did they switch to unity when they did with such a broken version of game? ( There is no way on earth that this level of bugs and issues came as a `surprise'.)
Why they did not have a back up solution to reverse the game back to client as a safety net? Basic computer skills always tells us to `back up data' before making changes so if all goes bad we can roll back... Does that mean BB does not even have `basic' computing skills?
As others have said other game companies managed to port their games from flash with barely a hiccup. BB has delayed, delayed and delayed then messed up with first a `interim' client, to give them more time to make the port to `their chosen way forward, to ensure the game into the future'. Fixed the client for some at the exclusion of others. Then switch from the working client ( for those still left ) to this pile of `rubbish', oh and they are working `hard' to fix it, as if we should be grateful for something that should have been done months ago. And working hard means we fixed a few issues and broke some more, like they always do.
Just a suggestion, but before you use the term `improved' you may want to keep in mind a base line of performance based on the last version of the client game that was playable. Perhaps less broken is more appropriate till you reach that level or maybe that does not fit the spin?
Performance: Performance of the UI is less broken ( I shouldn't tempt fate, but you couldn't make it any worse Although some would argue not being able to log in maybe worse )
Performance: Fixed a lockzone issue when accepting books ( Not really got the bookbinder working properly though have you? )
Quest: Fixed the level requirement for the quest “Gold Deposits” ( Really you fixed a quest ... one quest? Working hard, yeah right )
UI: UI scaling settings will no longer reset after restarting the game ( I'm thinking if basic game setting parameters were not tested and stable, what hope for the rest of the game )
UI: Fixed the tooltip of Marshalls while traveling ( OMG There are no words ! )
Yeah your working hard, my dog's fast asleep on the couch and is burning more calories than BB devs are putting into saving what's left of TSO by the look of it. Can't wait for the next update, what will they deem important next time ... we stopped the deer walking on water ... we corrected the quest one last time to Cousin `Theador is scrounging again' You will of course need to allocate an extra five seconds between clicks to accommodate these updates plus reload seven times and clear cache 132 times or in the latter case you won't be able to use the tick box as it will be greyed out.

- TSO is a free to play game
- It pays it's way ONLY when players buy gems
- When Adobe announced the end of life of Flash 3.5 years ago, Ubisoft/BlueByte seemed to give their focus to replacing TSO with the next generation called Settlers Alliance instead of commencing a migration when all the resources and talent to do so was available.
- Ubisoft/BlueByte were caught with their pants down when it seems Settlers Alliance failed dramatically in the first user testing and ultimately went belly up. They then had to draw up a last moment plan for what to do with TSO.
- The marketing spin presented to us late last year was how much Ubisoft/BlueByte was investing in us by giving us not just one, but two solutions to continue playing! (a.k.a. "We left the migration way too late, so we need an interim bridging means to limp along while the migration progresses).
- All of the bright sparks who did the Flash migrations for everyone else had long since moved on to the latest technologies and were not interested in base-rate contracts working in ancient technologies (not a selling point on any CV!), so Ubisoft/BlueByte had only the dregs and cheap, "still wet behind the ears" coders to work with. (This is rather evident in what we see in the poorly considered functionality of the ported game. It would seem that even the project management and in-house testing had NO idea of the playability criteria for the game).
- The client solution needed licensing and who knows how much money paid to Samsung, etc for the enabler to to play a Flash game via the client. It would seem that 3 months was agreed as we were supposed to be on Unity by Easter. This would have been a tough fight to have with upper management, and whoever was managing the migration project was probably backed into a corner and forced to agree to an absurd timeframe to "control costs".
- Easter came and went and more licensing and money was required to be directed to Samsung to keep Flash going for another few months. This would have required a screaming match at board level about the poor return of the money spent so far. Whoever was running the migration probably had to sign in blood that they would get the game playable with just the one more extension of licensing to Samsung.
- As the end of the further extension to the client licencing approached the question from senior management was probably as simple as, "Is it coded sufficiently so that it is playable?".... The operative word there being "playable", but neither management, nor the poor sods doing the coding could actually quantify what exactly "playable" meant.
- The coders who have obviously never played the game were probably quite proud of all the code they had written and how close things looked (not played) to the original game. They would surely answer, "Yes, it's playable!"
- The team in charge of managing the migration had already signed in blood that no more extensions of licensing for the Flash client would be required/allowed. They could only respond, "Yes, it's playable!" (With their fingers crossed behind their backs!)
- Senior management would then have directed, "Well put it in and make it start paying for all this expense then!"
- So in it went and within days we had a 100% bonus gem sale!

Probably augmented to the: It either moves to unity or we pull the plug on the whole thing now which gets us to this piece of [censored manure] which they hope to emergency fix to a playable POS before the next management evaluation which might still see the plug pulled and all of us circling the drain

What I see and have seen from BB is totally alien to me. Bad decisions compounded by even more bad decisions and even worse implementation. It is extremely hard for me to watch this, and believe what I am seeing from within a good business setting, I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. Your right though PharTing, this is not really the fault of the coders ( well not all of it ) But those charged with making the decisions and showing leadership to the team. I concluded a long time ago that within BB these people who are pretty poor at their jobs must be `untouchable' within the company to still be doing such a poor job time and time again. I am still surprised that Ubisoft, as the publisher have not stepped in to give these people a bit of a shake up though, they are being tarnished by association, but there again I hear they have their own issues ;)

I have spent more time in the game this morning than I have since the switch and the zone refreshes are still a problem. I estimate one per minute and definite pause each time.
Nothing here has changed with the last game update. There is virtually nothing that works as it should. I'm sure the people sitting and making these updates have not understood what it's all about.
I'm getting so tired of this game and the bad excuses they come up with every time something goes wrong during their so - called updates.
It's simply bad still for game provider.
Maybe I should try support ;) I guess their answer will be a usual. Clear browser and bl.a bla. bla. Case closed.

I can't delete buff messages from friends. I can select them all but when i want to delete it nothing happens. Also not after a relog. Also after one hour or less i get out of memory screen and then i have to relog again.

looks like we have gone back in time to Noahs Ark
only my mountains are above water
buildings load slower than before
cannot access and buff building
normal building seem to work fine when they are there
geolists and explorers are now impossible to send on missions
for me the update has made it worse on firefox
I started Storm Recovery for quest and everything succeeded until i had to demolish stones with dynamite. 2 stones i could destroy but the other ones don't show the dynamite but instead a window with a heart and other stuff where the dynamite supposed to be. I played Storm Recovery many times but now i stranded. The adventure is still active on my island and i will try again to demolish the stones tomorow. I logged in and out but nothing helps.

sSnce the maintenance I have been unable to play.. I go thro the usual 2 loading lines ok.. but this is what comes up as my game..
