Maybe if they had offered something unique as a prize rather than stuff you could get from normal play with less hassle? A special. one off never to be repeated building maybe?

Where is my [ Censored ] granite from searches?! This is bull...
Unneeded,
peck_ed
Seriously? own 500 longbowmen? Get something with 30 % chance of gettingfrom adventure that itself costs [censored] loads of resources? and on top of that : you get less of a reward ( id rather silo than watermill) in the end?
ps. 3. Buy 4000 resources, sell (not produce) 100 baskets. Reward: 200 sausages <-- i believe it says sell 4k items and produce 100 baskets.
Anyway, it looked like a decent quest/event , but if you have a life, and want to play the game, you cant do it all in 2 weeks.
edit: took my 3 explorers 3 !!!! days to bring me 10 granite..how the hell am i suppose to catch up with all that now?
wojtasson,
Profanity is unacceptable.

It is very difficult to do quests starting with outlaws....i would be willing to do one adventure in this quest line. But 3 adventures right before easter is way to taxing. BB thank you for taking the time to make up this event though, I am currently doing the 3rd quest (watcher in the tower). I have enjoyed playing the first 3 and now i will just try to help my other guild members who have vet generals and can complete these adventures with supplies that they need. :)
Just do what the rest of us did and delete the quest little red X....it's not for everyone I like the SANDBOX feel and dont want to have to build buildings i dont want or need just for a quest ....
Sry BB I'm passing on this one, people out there who have vets and fast scouts and who built titsmelters and xbow/dam swords, I wish u all the best.
I deleted the quest as it's beyond my abilities (still stuck at lvl 50 since christmas, 50 Darkcastles installed and proud of em)
Dezy.............
sry bb -- all that resources/time needed just for 500 gems..... its ok ill pass ty...if i want a silo/w mill i can just go buy them, much cheaper than trying to fullfill the quests
whose the planner for these things? you really need to have your HR evaluate their suitability for employment...
2 weeks to complete a questchain where you need to find a bunch on granite on Bandits nest?!?!?! Granite is only a 33% drop. Bandits nest is no where to be found on the TO and you cannot even buy it with gems, you need freakin 200 map fragments. thats 600 to make sure you get the granite !!! thats sending out 200 scouts in 2 weeks or selling your whole stock to buy the freaking fragments on TO !?!?!?!?! What where they thinking !?!?!?!?!?!? [ Censored ]

i would add
8/10 for idea of the event quests
1/10 for execution
Thats not correct. I had started an adventure Before i got to phase 2 from the mine, but it said i completed the quest when i finished the adventure.
Thought better warn those doing this quest where it says PRODUCE 250 SETTLERS it doesnt mean out of bread it means wait until they arrive. Leave yourself time for this as even with a love potion gonna take a while
Okay,
so I haven't had a single piece of granite in my last 10+ adventures.
Not gonna blow like 3000 coins on Bandit's nest only to find my streak just increased by 1.
I can buy a watermill cheaper than I can do Bandit's Nest.
If the quest was merely completing the adventures, I would be tempted to do the quest - despite the stretch this thing is on my budget.
But given my luck, I might be spending 20000+ coins (which I don't have, anyways) before I get the required granite reward.
Well, if the quest did not have a timer, it might actually be possible.
The timer makes things worse since I don't have time to play 24/7. I can play on the weekend, and the odd 15 minutes during the week.
As today is already the last day of the weekend, I cannot even churn up the troops for BN, much less complete the adventure.
My next chance is in 6 days, close to the end of the quest.
Like it is, I call it "Poor design. Yet another FAIL".
Soz.
Good idea, poorly implemented.
On another note, to be constructive:
1. Quest lines should be FUN, not HARDCORE WORK. As such, tremendously reduce the difficulty level.
With this, I mean: If you want people to do adventures, okay. Even an adventure like Outlaws ist OK.
But putting in adventures that are extremely difficult to obtain by normal means (such as Bandit's Nest or Motherly Love) , and then also putting in constraints on how to complete them, you're overdoing it.
You should have done some of the easy-to-obtain adventures that are abundant and not in high demand, such as Victor the Viscious or Sons of the Veld and then been done without any form of constraint.
By putting in these "special" adventures, you're introducing an element of chance that shouldn't be there (if you had the adventure before the event, cool - otherwise SOL) - and not everyone has 1000 map fragments sitting around, either.
If you really want people to do these adventures, then at least make it like the Christmas adventure that they are obtained as part of the quest (and re-obtained if failed).
2. Quest lines should reward those who are dedicated, not those who are LUCKY.
TSO usually has only a moderate element of luck, but a big element of tactics and strategy.
I (probably others as well) have quit other MMO's because I tend to be disproportionately unlucky.
If you do not want to lose players over stuff like this, please remove the element of chance.
3. Quests should be possible for everyone.
The way the quest is currently implemented, you pretty much must play a few hours every single day in the 2-weeks period to have even a remote chance to complete it.
Please think of the working people with family (e.g. those who are most likely to pay money for the game anyways) before putting some stumbling block in their way.
EITHER - dramatically reduce the amount of time consumed in the quest
OR - remove the timer of the quest completely so that it can stay there for a couple months without forcing us to engage all the time.
I'm all for new things since I think there's too little variation in this game, and I'm also all for a challange, since I think most quests are too easy. After looking at this quest chain I decided to complete step 4 (I'm lvl41) since the granite reward made the loss in previous steps worth it. I will do bandit nest at least one time since I've never done it before and I might get lucky. But there the fun stops for me.
If it was a longer timeframe or not random for the last adventure I would probably do them all. But I'm not going to build a LB maker and produce 500 LB men that I just will use as cannon fodder instead of cheaper bowmen and which I would barely be able to fit in my 2000 residence limit when I might not even get the final reward due to the random factor.
As for PVP that's not a valid argument since we know neither how it will work or when it will arrive, and for most players that don't buy gems licences is a very limited resource.
For lvls 16-25, last task is: Pay 500 pinewood planks, mine 150 stone (?). Reward: 100 bronze swords...
You will have to earn that 150 stones through short treasure search, not mine them. So make sure your explorers are not doing anything before this one.
Hope this helps.
I am an ex-game developer. One of the fundamental rules of developing a game is to not have progress determined by random factors or chance - by including granite drops from explorer searches and from adventures in the quest chain BB has broken this fundamental rule. That is simply unforgiveable from professional game developers.
The error is compounded by the short time limit on the event, making it even more amateurish - a time limit on a quest that is effectively random as to whether it can be completed!
I have cancelled the quest chain and I suggest anyone sane does the same, because the resource cost and frustration of doing repeated tasks without any certainty of success are simply not worth it.
Wish BB could consider extend the deadline time a bit so we can enjoy the game without having to stress to complete this in time. Otherwise I like the challenge :)
Well i am level 37. First 3 quest i done quite easely now i am doing quest Allience i will spent/loose a lot of troops and as i know for next quest i need to done advanture Bandit Nest. Omg how can i rebuild my troops soo fast if event last only 14 days?!?!Well be more realistic devoleper with this time limiting and level demanding. Hope for better version of next Events.
I have to have a 2nd thought about completing this quest. Still trapped on Strong advice. My explorer have not found any granite, and yes I'm doing it rigth. I even bought a 2nd explorer, what a waste of coins.
Why was this never tested on test, as the other events have been.
Once again BB has come up with something that isn't worth the cost.
Please BB.make a good story, that's worthwhile the resources we use.
It should be at least 25% turnover and the involved adv, should be possible to fetch free of charge somehow.
Thanks for nothing.
Nettopp_Naa
And the only response from any representative of BB is "Don't do (insert rule). No feedback, no reasons. I'm under threat of a ban for saying BB don't listen .... why?
The worrying thing for me is that having quests dependent on specific drops from specific adventures (chance/random) is such extremely bad game design. How can it be that a professional game developer could allow such awful design to come out? Such bad design should not even get through a first meeting, never mind be published like this. It makes me very worried for what else will come in the future when this can happen.
I started reading this thread to find out a little more about the sub quests and apart from the first page all I have read is a series of moans! I only got as far as page 6 and then gave up. Seriously ppl if the game bugs you so much why are you still here playing??
FYI so far each adventure that require me to find granite....guess what.....I got granite first time.
Having a quest requiring a specific drop from an adventure is not as bad if there is no time limit on the quest chain itself. The 14 day time limit discourages a lot of people who do not think the can acheive all the steps in the time.
One of the subquests listed for Levels 36-45 on the first page of this thread is incorrect. It should read:
4. Have your friend buff 50 of your buildings with solid sandwiches, finish Outlaws losing maximum 500 recruits. Reward: 300 granite
ill get stuck on phase 4 of that event. Outlaws in less than 500 R, would require me to kill off the millitia..which is ok, but i wont have time to build them all in time, and then building 500 longbowmen for another part of that event. If thats your idea of "making" us spend money on gems - to make things happen faster - then you failed with 500 gems reward. (not mentioning watermill and silo)
Im trying, but i know at the very begining, this quest is for people, who pay gems to speed every single queue in productions.
For levels 46-50:
5. Produce 20 crossbows, get 1000 granite loot from Motherly Love (37% chance). Reward: 700 coins
Unless you are willing to risk the chance for granite drop on Surprise Attack, I think that's the last quest worth doing :S
Step 5 for Levels 36-45 lists the quest conditions as
5. Train 120 soldiers, Find 600 granite by completing "Bandit Nest". Reward: 500 coins
However when I started this subquest the 120 soldiers was already complete. So it's either a translation error that should actually read "Own 120 soldiers", or (and I think more likely) it's to train 120 soldiers but you are already credited for how many you start with. Speculation though.. so to leave it as Own 120 soldiers is probably best for now?
Just wondering if anyone had completed the required adventure during this event and not found granite yet? thats 2 ppl now who told me they found what they needed first time! Have they raised the granite percentage just for this event?
I completed outlaws last night with granite as a reward, now waiting for a general to heal so I can attack the last sector of bandits nest, ( this adventure will cost me 637 recruits, 170 cav, 60 odd soldiers). If i dont get granite then I guess im equipped to give it one more go.
spent about 250 baskets on the quest which requires me to buff others with 175 baskets, none counted towards quest so far so I guess I am out at this stage.
This step isn't too bad because you can begin the outlaws adventure from the very start, and only complete it when you get the subquest. Militia isn't always needed depending on your generals; Tage's guide in killste's mentions sacrificing bowmen/some cavalry in the last sector if you're aiming for under 500 recruits.
lvl 36-45
4. Get/Receive 50 Sandwich Buffs + Complete 'Outlaws' with max 500 Recs lost • Reward: 300 Granite
i can confirm that you can kill all the camps before taking the quest , just don't hit complete on the adventure quest, and you will get credit for completing it when you will receive the quest
been trying to find out this and all i see in this topic is whine whine and more whine, and besides a few actual information post, nothing that deserve time reading
Having trouble with the Outlaws portions of the lvl 36-45 quest (I also have the same requirements for "The bet" side quest - complete outlaws, losing fewer than 500R). I finished it doing just that, kept very careful notes (as well as all of the battle reports) and only lost 483R, but that section of the Four Winds quest is not listed as complete. I have accepted the adventure rewards, and I have already completed the 50 sandwich part. Relogged a number of times and waiting on a response to my support ticket at the moment. Has anyone had similar trouble with this quest? Or any suggestions?
