When trying to login in Chrome with a Uplay account i get a # added to the site in the adress bar and can't log in, when i try Internet Explorer i can log in to my Uplay (or i couldn't post this) but nothing happens when i hit the "play game" button :(

yes I can log in but not get to the island, now it works in Firefox again, but stil not in crom and explore
I'm back in the same sitioation again got server error and then can not get into the game again, can log in and press play, but after a long period of time where it just stands with the different tips I get the message Refres your Broser ,
and it does not help to erase all cokkies and history, and then open cmd ipconfig / flushdns
Eckhausen, can you confirm that your are getting the error described here?
Otherwise, it might be a different issue and I will have to ask you to send a ticket to support describing exactly what the problem is.

Same problem for me this morning as eckhausen: "Press OK to refresh your client". Cache & DNS flushed three times. Using Chrome. Seems OK until I try to visit an adventure zone.
edit: Seems fine now - nothing changed, just started working for now.

I'm not sure I can help you, since your have problems on all three browsers. Seeing that the issue is resolved now for the other players, I would assume that you now have another problem (maybe introduced by the problems the game earlier). The fact that you have the problem on all three browser might be explained by you trying to get online while the problems with the game still existed.
I couldn't find out if you tried the steps given by BB_Ravel again after the situation was resolved so just to be sure I'm going to assume you didn't. For now lets see if we can get Firefox to work again.
Do this steps exactly in the order given:
- Make sure you are not logged in
- Close all Firefox windows except 1 (make sure it is not showing something related to the game)
- Clear cookies and cache (Please follow How to clear cookies and cache: Firefox)
- Close all your Firefox windows
- Clear DNS cache
I don't know which OS you are using, but if it is Windows 7 you can do this
Go to Start, type in cmd in the "Search programs and files" field and then a pop-up will open.
Type in ipconfig /flushdns and hit Enter.
Unfortunately I have a Dutch Windows, but the end result should look like this

The part I underlined should say something like "DNS cache has been cleared"- Open Firefox
- Go to the login page ( http://www.thesettlersonline.com ) and log in
- Press "Play"
- If that still isn't working go to http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/play then click in the navigation bar and press CTRL+F5 again

I have the same problem, the map is not loading and i have done all the tips and hint BB_Ravel gave me, and i have tried to loged in on to diffrent computers with out any luck . i have done all the tips that have been posted on this qoute to. the map simlpy dosent load 100% if let it stand loading i get the Message : "time is idle out" i have done what i can do and the promlems is not gone?:mad:
i have been waiting to get connetected for five days now, my map is not loading, and People in my guild can not visit my land either, it seems like i am locked out from my land since the map is not loading 100% , it sucks big time that the support is not working a little bit faster
I have had a similar problem since tuesday now. :-(
I have tried to login by using chrome, IE and firefox...all with the same result.
At the best I got in to "approve" a completed daily quest before I get the "connection issue" with the man swinging the hammer on the server.
I have tried changing password (tip from support)
flushing dns cache (in the command window)
delete flash memory
reinstall flash
empty all browsers memories
delet flash memory again
flushing dns cache again
Pinged 300. got ok for 299. 1 lost.
Anyone have any tip? (haven't got a new suggestion/reply from support for the last 24 hours after trying ping etc)
[edit] Seems like there is more players with the same problem and that is not on my side based on the latest reply...but still appreciate if anyone has any tip.
Well i need react too. I have big same problems to connect game. Only 2 things help me to connect. Logout my win 8.1 and log old Xp win start mozzila browser - no problem, or start some Linux os.
In my win 8.1(chrome) is 1:20 chance to log in. I try today mozzila on win 8.1 but i click on login withy facebook, fill the acc and pass and nothink happen, in settlers homepage still unlogged.
I have the same problems also. Nothing that support asked me to do has helped. Then I made new account and tried it in Firefox. Game started, but menus were broken and also the appearance of the game (couldn't start Build menu...). Then I have tried to relog, but after that I couldn't load the game again. Also I have tried with some web proxy sites, but without success.
I am using Windows 7 and newest Flash version. Don't think there is anything problem from the client-user side.
Also it is not logic that game has support only Mon-Fri, 09-17h... Ubisoft, sell the game to somebody else, who will make this game without bugs finally, because it is never ending story.
I got the same issue for a couple of day's now. And the maintenance of today didn't fix it.
Support just say's it's a known issue and they are trying to fix it. In the mean time I got this unhelpful tip:No link to a site with information how to actually do this. Luckily some of the information can be found here.Quote:

1 week and the problem is the same. I feel sorrow for the people in the support.
Should we make contest about this bug and make a picture, or just make some costume for Carnival Special? Maybe we should find cheap hammers on ebay and send them to their CTO (chief technology officer) :P
I'm having the same issue (ddinc, Ozzymandeus, sleiN13, CZ_Lisa), and I'm on the Primacom ISP. Are you guys using the same thing by any chance, or a different ISP?
It's worse than that MFluffums, it doesn't work on my PC but it does work on my laptop. So it's not your internet connection that is the problem, its something on your pc.
From New Zealand only minor problems... maybe regional issues?
CAUSE PROBLEM found: today I got suggestion from support that it might be some technical issue with this game and ISP (Internet provider) and this is true. What exactly is the problem, I do not know. I have tried from 2 ISP in the same time and it worked through T-com, but not with Amis.
I will keep updates if I will know more.
P.S. Trace route went well and I have sent it to their support. You can have yours if you open your Command prompt and write and hit Enter button after writing:

P.P.S. It seams I have jumped to conclusion that ISP is the problem. It is NOT!
If somebody of you with the same problem, gets his problem solved, please reply here (my still isn't).
It might have to do with the provider...but how can I do anything about that?
The strange thing is that the game worked one day and suddenly not the next day...without me doing any change of the provider or any other updates.
It's still not working for me relaiably, sometime (ones every couple of days) I can get on for like 10 minutes, after that is time's out and I can't get on anymore.
I Don't think it's a ISP thing because I can get into the game on my laptop that uses the same internet connection + sometimes it also works on my pc.
Really sucks that after such a long time it still isn't fixed.
having issues the bluebyte screen loads then it goes to the settlers screen the loading bar fills but then it just sits on that screen wont load any further
When im trying to load island it says that i have problem with connection which actually fully working. Deleted browser cache and other stuff, but still same problem... Anyone had something similar? Thank you!

Since yesterday afternoon I can't get online at game. I get both Bluebyte and Settlers loading screen. Then I got blue see color (loading map) sometimes I see Tip of the Day message and right after I get " Connection to the server has been lost" image (a builder with hammering server). Sometime it dissapears and I got blue screen or I get "Please click OK to refresh your client.". I did every step of "[HOWTO] Issues you can check and solve yourself" but still same result.
I use Chrome for game but Firefox is same.
When I was writing this I tried Firefox again and I login for 10-15 mins and game kicked me out again.
Anybody have any idea?
PS. I tried with other computer (chrome) it is working.
I have same issues. I see Tip of the day and get connection problem error.
Tried on 4 different computers and 2 laptops with internet explorer, firefox and chrome. Have 3 broadband connections, one with sky, one with plusnet and one with BT. None of them work!
Had no problem getting onto the test server though.
Unfortunately I can only suggest that you try the things suggested in this thread.

Please provide them with detailed information on where and how the game fails to load (provide a 3rd party link to a screenshot if you are able to) and what you already tried to fix it.
I have tried with brand new laptop (from a friend) and it worked on same ISP it did not worked on my computer (so ISP is not the problem). I have done all suggested things and it did not solved my problem. It has now passed over 1 month from the time I have made a ticket to support, but the problem is not solved and there are no new news about it.
I have already lost few hundreds of gems and new event is around the corner, but still there are no news about when the problem will be solved!!
From your post it's obvious there is nothing support can do for you since the problem is your end. As you say a borrowed new computer from a friend worked, so what have you got on yours that they don't have on theirs which could be preventing you from logging in. Have you tried fixing your registry. Have you tried re-installing your browser, have you tried re-installing the OS.
I am on Northisle realm 2 but can't get it in English today - only German. Is this a bug???
