I have been getting the same problem with this "connection failed" message all day.
I had this issue before as well and had to wait a day. I am now on premium time and would like to be able to use it as a day lost cost gems.
Can't login, tried reboot, clear cache and another browser. Keep getting white screen (static14.cdn.ubi.com)
Any suggestions ?
problem solved, turned modem powerless and it works again

since just now i have the 'blank load screen' as well. i have tried switching the modem on/off, clearing cache, different browsers. nothing works. (it seems i can load the game with IE, but i can't drop resources into mayors office) i noticed that i couldn't drop the resources from my star menu into the mayors house (not a deposit refill duh). after a refresh the game wouldn't load anymore. i'm using Crome.
ohh yeah, pictures on the homepage won't load either..

My last attempt at login was apparently during unscheduled maintenance, and shortly before my workers were due to stop working (24 hours since previous login).
This morning I am trying again, as many people above I only get a blue screen, and nothing else happening.
Server Newfoundland.

a) Cleared Browser Cache
b) Rebooted machine

d) I have left the game in this state for up to 2 hours in the hope that it is some sort of log jam.
The only one that seems to work
e) Try again several hours later.
I have PAID to PLAY because I felt there was substantive support behind the game.
In practice this is proving to be a falsehood. Its the kind of bug that has me looking to other games.
Not been working all morning for me either. Get to 'play now' screen and message pops up telling me I haven't got FlashT player installed. Er. yes I have. And it was fine last night before I logged off. Sometimes get background images, sometimes don't.
Other games working fine so assume no problem with the FlashT...
Gonna be really annoyed if I have to rebuild all my gold mines, they were due to sleep from today.............
Update - Finally got in to play!!!! 10.55BST. Don't know why it happened but not a good thing on an online real-time game.....

Hi all I have just signed up But I have a problem getting into the game.The first two pages load fine then It gets to a page that says tip of the day, at the bottom of the box it says initialising login,then it just sits there. any ideas

Yes, still the same problem - gets to "loading Map" - which flashes a couple of times (as normal) then freezes
I try to connect since over an hour to the http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/homepage server without success.
Since you are able to post in the forum I'm assuming you were able to log in. Which would suggest you could connect to the homepage before.
Can you provide a screenshot of the problem you have, or at least a more detailed description of what is not working for you.

I could log in and connect to the home page. When I press "Play now" I get connectionfailed display.
If you are able to, try and see if it happens in another browser as well.
If that works, but you don't want to use another browser, you could try clearing your browser history (for a howto see http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/t...-clear-cookies).

I finally simply logged out and logged in again and then it worked !!
I should have guessed something because my initial log in took some time;

White screen appears when pressing "play" button after login and game do not loads at all!?!

When you have problems loading the game, due to a connection failed message, a white screen, the progress bar stopping, only the ocean showing (no land nor buildings) or something in between, go back to the homepage and try if logging out and then logging in again helps you.

By blue screen I assume you mean a Blue window. A blue screen which should have white text is a Windows error message telling you something has gone very wrong with Windows which needs to be attended to before you try logging back into the game. Failure to do this could result in your computer needing expensive repairs.Quote:

My problem with "freezing" during loading was fixed in a curious way.
I started having a problem with Facebook displaying the first part of my timeline.
Looked around the web for ideas and found a suggestion that it could be a CHROME issue along with a fix (CMD + Mac) (CTRL + Windows) and it fixed my Facebook problem (it seems permanently).
The next time I had problems with Settlers freezing during map load I tried the same trick and it WORKED !!
Now I'm no techie and I can't tell you why it is a problem with CHROME but it is definitely a fix that works for me.
Tried IE, Chrome, FFox and my sons tablet with no joy!
I assume you can't load the game. but it would help if you gave some details as to why you can't.
Do you get a message? or does the loading stop somewhere? something else?
Okay, I've done all the normal stuff - rebooted the pc, cleared the cache, not stored screename or password, different browser etc etc etc etc
But I still cant login? I was ok on my laptop after maintenance but now I've had a break & tried logging in on a pc, it wont let me in. If I'm lucky I can get as far as the status bar, it goes up to 100% & then stops dead. I even had trouble trying to get into the forum. It's as tho the Settlers site has gone on a major go-slow & refusing to move.
Anybody else having issues/got any suggestions that havent been tried & proved useless before?? (yeah, you know the one's I mean - the type we keep getting palmed off with as if it's our fault the game wont load rather than admitting the game might have a bug :p )
Wow, maybe my little rant worked. Finally after two hours of getting angry, it finally allowed me in lol
loading stopped before getting on to game screen, second page...
home now seems to work so have been accessing, but Irked!
and thats it, it dosent do any more!
