Still no fix, are u guys aware of this? Its really annoying playing like this....
since the last game update i get freezes that last up to 30 sec when trying to apply buffs. seems to only affect firefox. any fix?
Hi
I am using Safari Version 11.1.2 and i literally cannot play Settlers on it anymore, when i attempt to scroll around the map after about 10 seconds the screen lags and thinks i have clicked on a building nearby to where i am attempting to drag the screen, I then click away into an empty space on the screen to attempt to maybe scroll somewhere else and nothing happens, the screen is frozen. I have moved to Chrome and this works fine.
For the Chrome users out there... I've found a little trick which is helpful. Sometimes the game seems to be stuck (typically when I open another window that has flash running but I didn't know that) and to fix it I just drag the window down to detach it from the Chrome session and then push it back up. Seems to slap the game back awake. This saves me having to refresh which I don't like doing when I'm on my mobile data.
Hope that helps a little.
OK i solved problem by installing fresh win10 (was using win7 before) and now runs smooth, even better than in chrome...
It seems to me that since approximately the surprise "database maintenance" performance issues and other 'flaky' game problems have shown up. Unfortunately not all are able to be clearly documented so descriptions might have to do. But I have noticed an increasing rate of things like:
Sending explorers, except you notice you get no confirmation message/sound and they are still in the star menu.
Moving an item from the star menu to the storehouse. You don't get a confirmation, the item in the star menu is often grey, and nothing happens.
Going into the provision house/barracks and about just as soon as your able to queue something the target window "resets" and you haven't queued anything at all.
Clicking on a collectible to see sparkles that don't stop and the collectible is never collected.
Ongoing freezes which clear themselves, others that don't.
Collectibles quests: I track carefully when they are due. Sometimes...
The quest shows up auto-pinned because it was pinned last time - or -
The quest shows up, but I have to go into the quest list and pin it - or -
The quest shows up, but there is no quest in the quest list - or -
The quest doesn't show up, but if I refresh it's there
In all the above cases a refresh seems to make things ok. Also continually clearing the browser cache (at least a couple times a day) also seems to help.
This seems to have started about when the database refresh happens AND it's very important to point out about the time that Chrome released the latest and greatest (which I use) and changed Flash default play settings. I use Chrome pretty much exclusively. I play other Flash games and I am not seeing the same scope of issues beyond the nature of Flash which I've been used to for years. Settlers has much more pronounced issues in these areas.
Anyone else seeing similar things?
Merged
Yes
I would almost say what doesn't cause a freeze
Generals landing on home island, first a message there's not enough landing space, the game freezes and then you hear them all land. Apply buffs at fast speed, finishing quests.
On adventure sometimes the generals stop walking, going back to home island and back seems to work, but we all know that's tricky when multiple generals attack.
I've also seen a weird pop up saying * there's a general without garrison *
Yep having constant issues lately and seems to be getting worse..the games performance is now simalare to zynga/facebook games constant lag causing the game screen to freeze or clicking stuff and sitting waiting for it to open is getting beyond a joke the game used to flow ..
Hello, i have been suffered this issue, last night i could not even log-in, today everytime change switching screen from land to adv map it's freeze forever.
As the newer browsers get better the performance of flash gets worse and worse - its a dead technology
getting this pop up alot when the game freezes too
https://prnt.sc/la8qe3
I had a new one last night....
My before-bed collectibles dropped at 22:08 exactly on time. I got the New Quest flag and everything. I even saw a few pop up on the screen.
I was tired so I decided to use the Spring Park. Once I activated the buff I got the hour glass spin,spin,spin,spin........
Then I noticed on the side of the screen one of the collectibles had a blue flag bouncing on it so I figured the spring park worked and just closed the window.
THEN I got a "New Quest"
Collectibles!
And all the collectibles bouncing blue flags were gone.
And the spring park was in cool-down. Seems it refreshed the collectibles destroying my markers by doing so.
I decided to refresh. That is taking longer and longer it seems (and now I'm up to about 10 refreshes per day give or take)...
After the refresh I had the bouncing flags. But 1/2 the time was gone. So it ran out before I could find them all.
And of course I still don't have the spring park for another day.
It's very difficult to enjoy the game when things behave that way. I know Flash has it's attitudes at time and I'm used to that but these new behaviors are recent and escalating.
Continuing along (and I wonder if all these types of issues are related to posts about pumpkin fields loosing refills) - I keep seeing more things happening, but at least maybe a pattern? Events - defined as an explorer coming back, or even worse a "you have a new quest" notification. These seem to have the effect of wiping out anything that is in the ever worsening buffer of what is going on in your kingdom.
Example that just occurred but that I see more and more often: Queued 850 recruits. Hour glass spin, spin, spin. Close barracks. Opening barracks. Recruits showed queued. Started queuing some bowmen. Hour glass spin, spin, pause, pause.... explorer returned. Barracks re displayed and now empty - nothing on order.
Just left everything. Waited. Waited about 10 mins. Nothing. Queued another 25 recruits just to see what happened. Hour glass spin, spin, spin. Close barracks. Another explorer returned. Opened barracks. Now 875 recruits queued.
So it's like the request goes to the server.
It hangs somewhere in the ozone.
An event occurs (which I assume has higher priority).
Your buffered request is then lost (sometimes) or if it managed to make it before the event, is now active. But your end might not receive the information for a while - perhaps not until a refresh or the mysterious 15 minute automatic zone refresh they have talked about.
Things are behaving more and more asynchronously when they behaved much more linear before. I suspect server load and the proper scaling up not being done before what should have been known as an increased load.
I still wonder what the "database maintenance" was a few weeks ago...
Another example - posted "as it happened"...
Collectible time - showed up on time.
Got the New Quest notification.
Quest was in my quest list.
Pinned it.
0 / 31
Saw a barrel - clicked - sparkle, sparkle, sparkle...
1 /31
Click on herbs - sparkle...
pause
game hung
0/0
barrel back
Herbs still there
sound and 2/2
both barrel and herbs gone
All is as it should be, but you could just feel the pain of it desperately trying to process my actions and send the updates for the display.
I really don't know where this issue should go so I'll put it here. This one I haven't seen. The game was acting up (like it often does now) with not sending explorers for minutes after the request, spinning hourglass, etc. I tried to put some items up for trade. The first listing was ok. The 2nd one I got the hourglass. I waited and waited. I finally closed the window, waited a bit and opened it again. No hour glass, no 2nd listing. So I tried to list the item again. While the hourglass was spinning I saw something alarming in the listings appearing and quickly refreshed the game. This is now what I have in my trade office sell tab. Notice that the next offer would be 6 gold. Notice also there is no way to cancel the existing lines. I'm scared to try and list anything else and I really don't know how much gold might have gone out the window.
While I was typing this and had the trade office/sell tab up, the hour glass started spinning on it's own again. I logged out. Cleared the browser cache and went back in (I hate what all these refreshes I must do now does to my mobile data). It still looks the same as the below image.
I wonder if it will always be this way now?!?!?!?!
http://prntscr.com/ligqee
Edited: I noticed lots of sales at prices I didn't think were right so I went into the sell tab again to delete them. The 1st deleted ok. The 2nd stayed there but made the empty listings vanish. I was able to delete the 2nd listing with another click.
Seems I've made a lot of noise on this thread already....
Struggling to find much positive about the game lately I have to point out that it seems since the last patch I'm having fewer problems the kind of which I've listed above. I do clear both cache's more often (but not every game session) and some other "tidy" type things on my system but player Diwata does not do these things as often and has also seen some improvement. There wasn't any specific mention about it so I decided to point it out.
Click - nothing, click again, nothing...then the game responds....
Happening alot this morning, logged out. Cant log back in.
For me it comes and goes. Re-sending explorers, picking up collectibles twice, re-queuing items in the provision house, etc. And on adventures things just sometime stop working. At other times it all works pretty smoothly.
I have noticed that when the game is really acting up a quest will often appear soon. It's like quests have so much priority now (I think they changed that a while back) that it cancels anything you have done until the quest can get itself established.
I have game issues. Had to send out explorers and geo's 3x this morning to get them to go. Had trouble sleeping buildings. Loading gens. Changing maps. Seems to be worse when I have completed a quest. Have stopped doing the shard quests as it effects game so much. Gift tree doesnt work mostly...and no it's not my cache as I clear it regulary as support ticket advised. Went through the long list of things to do to get better game performance. All was already done btw. Hardly ever get the 100 gems each week even thou I've never missed a single day. I tend to leave game running as logging in can take ages. Unlike any other game that starts within a minute. Oh and did a ww with a no loss attack to complete a pf quest..but sadly it didnt complete it. sigh Did I mention that I've stopped using the excelsior as it jams up after 2-3 rolls and doesnt show me what I'm getting. At least it's not taking my gems now without telling me coz I'm not using it. Would like some of these issues fixed before new things get added. Seeing too many players leaving coz the game not running well.
cant log into game ... get into the box with tick box and advice messages , then it goes to connection to server is lost ......please wait while we try to resolve issue. then i get please click to refresh client .. then amessage .. the settlersonline.com sent an invalid response and cant reload game
The word performance does not apply to settler...
With a 16CPU, 32Go and SSD PC, this game take more time to launch than a real time free 3D game like fornite...
The official system requirements is a joke !

My actual settlers online flash processus take more than 1GB RAM...
Where there is a will, there is always a way
1 prob might be having a fake version of flash. there is a lot of fake flash downloads out there that look like real flash but they r full of malware.
So uninstal flash using Ccleaner or simular and go to the real adobe site and get the real version.
Flash should tell u when there is an update. But several websites will say flash is out of date and u need to update it. those r the fake flash players.
Its part of the reason why flash is being withdrawn too many fake versions around.
But adobe have a habbit of putting in malware on the real version as well to gather ur data to sell it. Its why its free lol.
Chrome does the same. it has malware and spyware built into it by google.
My internet security wont even let me download chrome cause of all the malware and spyware built into it.
The main reason for freezing and lag is due to flash player not the game.
Some browsers work fine others dont.
I used to use cometbird. never had any probs with it in the game no lag no freezing. But then they stopped upgrading it and now is not compatable with the latest versions of flash. then i switched to palemoon which worked great but now that wont load the game at all. So now using firefox.
Prob now is firefox has switched to using webassembly which is the replacement for flash, HTML5 and JAVA so its not really compatable with flash anymore.
Chrome and edge have also switched to webassebly hence their probs running flash.
The main prob with flash is its not capable of multi tasking. so if u have more than 1 tab open that uses flash ur going to get lag and freezing.
Flash uses a lot of CPU and RAM. so the more tabs u have open running flash the more ur PC has to cope with and usualy ends up with flash crashing.
Sometimes it might even lockup ur entire PC causing a blue screen crash or just freezing the PC so u cant even move the mouse to reboot. only option then is pull the plug from the socket to shut the PC down.
Thats another reason why flash is getting taken offline. Its not adobe decision to remove flash they were told to get rid of it.
After the latest valentines update.
I am trying to rebuild buildings (wells, mines, wheatfields)
After 4th or 5th building, I notice a major slow down.
It takes around 12s for the free areas to be highlighted, so I can place a building.
After I place it, everything runs ok again.
Same on 2 machines:
opera 57.0.3098.106 on Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS (x86_64; Unity) (16Gb, Intel Xeon E5 8 core), flash 32.0.0.101
windows 10 (32 GB ram, i7 3.60GHz)
internet explorer 11.471.17134.0, flash 32.0.0.114
and
firefox quantum 60.5.1esr on windows 10 (32 GB ram, i7 3.60GHz), flash 32.0.0
And I did clean the browser cache and flash cache.
I used (http://pch.custhelp.com/app/answers/...h-player-cache) for flash
As another post asked, I'd like to know the source of your information. Can you explain to me why I play other online games that have lots of moving Flash parts and effects and I run it on the same equipment and the performance is fantastic?
Amendment: After closing all browsers, changing locations thereby going from one network link to another the performance is now back to at least as poor as it was before.
Hello folks,
We're very interested to hear about anyone who's still experiencing latency issues after the hotfix that was deployed earlier today. Please provide as much information as possible e.g. screenshots, reproduction steps and even video if you can!
Thank you!
i still have some latency when i try to transfer generals on ali maps; this never happened before this week.
it still freeze when an event happens (when many explorers came back).
and i feel is getting worse because right after the server started and there were few players, was less obvious.
screenshot
Spoiler
reproduction steps
- log in and load the game
- try play as usual
Still having the same latency problems I had yesterday after the update, hotfix doesn't seem to have solved anything,
Game freeze when trying to build mines and other buildings.
Merged
Game slows down a lot for me as well when trying to "drag" a mine from the build menu to its actual construction site. Major lag moving generals, too...
Also have a strange problem that the place where I'd normally click a buff for some buildings appears to have been moved. It's harder to aim the buff on a mine, can't figure out why (needs to be offset rather than in center of the mine).
Same problem. Trying to build mines is really difficult, there is massive lag.
Anytime i try building anything it takes a long time to start showing the green spaces and deposits, whatever fix you deploy did not fix anything for me.
Same here; select mine from menu wait 30 seconds place mine on deposit. Oh and try not too move your cursor while waiting or mine disappears and you have to start again
For me its worse now then before the hotfix...click something takes a few seconds to open try to move you can see the animation just freeze ...infact its sluggish no matter what you do
To build something is still laggy, somewhat better than before fix but still way worse than before problems started. Havent adventured so dont know about that.
Having serious problems entering the game
Building 1st iron was ok, 2nd lag went insane
Did they actually fix anything?
