I've managed to confirm, that if you need to aquire 600 granite in Bandit Nest, or any other adventure, if you get more then is required, you finish the Sub-Quest in Four Winds.
I've done this 5 times now, at great cost 3 x buying from shop and 2 at great gold cost, no granite, joke that luck is bought into completing a timed quest chain....... just to inflate the cost of an adv so it matches your valuation in mf via the shop? Same with sticking Pirates as only adv to do with guild quests.... not great really..... completing four winds is pointless for me now as could have bought a watermill at same cost & 5 nobles for the 500 gems.....
yeehah, finished 4 winds, the 26-35 one :-)
only had to do dark priests twice, otherwise got everything else in 1rst attempt
it is too hard to finish this quests and the watermill plus the gems are not enought as rewards ....i finished the nest and i got the granite...but at the end there is also the Old friend ...this is aa special one...how sure they are that there will be enought of them for all of us????
I think there must be a change in this senario
Why wasn't this tested first? It is the most dreadful set of quests ever and will lose more players than gain. BB - epic fail
So I am doing the quest and expect to finish it but I am doing it for the fun of it and because there is no other challenge for us Level 50 players but......
I have now completed 5 Motherly Love adventures, 7 if you include the 2 loot swaps I managed to secure and guess what..... yep that's right I still have zero granite. Based on chance I could go another 7 times and still not get granite so at the moment I am down roughly 1,650 Cav - that's 66,000 hoses plus recruiting time in the tavern. Really BB, that's got to be pretty impossible for anybody that is not seriously hardcore or has spent a lot on gems so it begs the question as to why bother putting so much development time into something that will only be achieveable by so few?
Just thought I'd add an update where I'm at. Thats now 3 bandits nests and exotic logs every time! Phew this is draining and to add further insult I hit level 37 and opened 2 mysterious adventure boxes to find an "Outlaws" and Victor the Vicious", wow, really? I can see why ppl sell theirs now!
Oh well at least the rewards from B.N. are decent, I just want those 500 coins on offer for the reward of subquest 5, the remaining subquest rewards are poor!
If I do not find 600 granite doing bandits nest do I have to do it until I do? That could take forever if you are unlucky in adventures as well as 33% chance.
Its impossible to get Granite from Bandit nest and where do we get the adventure buying it 3 times is enough and from old friend how do you exspect people to complete these impossible quest im getting fed up with this game now
I agree some of these "goals" are unrealistic if we are expected to get resources from adventures at least alter them so we can get those resources if not all at once at least some and not after endless replays of the same adventure. I have friends who have done their respective adventures 5 or more times without getting the resources they require that is un acceptable especially as most of the adventure trails contain at least 3 or more adventures.
The do care, of course, but not necessarily about the same things that you and I care. Strictly speaking it may well be that you and I also care about different things :)
My point is, posting on this thread is not complete waste of time. Some messages do get delivered.
Well said, Mostly everyone that has posted has a valid point in some way or another and as this is an untested event im sure bb will welcome all feedback on the matter. In the whole a great idea with plenty of subquests to keep u going for a while, just poorly implemented with the timeframe and requirements of granite in adventures. Ok I guess I better crack on with my 4th Bandits Nest attempt, fingers crossed :)
I finished Bandit Nest 1 time and got 600 granite, the reason why i say that it's been confirmed, is that one of members in the Guild that i am a member in, he had to finish Mohterly Love and recieve 1000 Granite, he recieved 1300, and he completed the sub quest in Four Winds.
I agree that the timescale is too short, especially if you dont have the adventures already and they are not for sale in the general market place. I did Pirates last weekend just before this started and now I am stuck. Pointless
I am level 47. I have just finished the Four Winds Quest. I did not have either of the two adventures Motherly Love or Surprise Attack already in stock. The players I feel sorry for are those that have single player adventures to do. I had a damascene swordsmith because I had to build one to do an earlier quest which was an irritation at the time but has now paid dividends.
The timescale is fine for me but I've been going at it quite ruthlessly. At lvl 40 I've managed the last half of SFTR, Outlaws, Bandit Nest x2, and Pirates. (I did use two drill buffs, but they're only 120 coins or so). We're not even half way through the event yet.
My main worry was what would happen if I didn't get granite on my second bandit nest. 200MF each nest is a lot for levels 36-45 to be gambling for a 33% chance half way through the questline. It would have been better nearer the end of the questline (as well as being a cheaper adventure), or otherwise remove the granite condition and just award success on completion.
Weapon buildings.. meh.. I've just built 3 longbowmakers with the intention of pulling them all down as soon as I've produced my 250 longbows :p I'd love to see weapons taken out of loot drops so that these buildings are actually meaningful, but I think that's been discussed a million times already.
Overall though I do like the idea behind this, it's good to have a long-term (2 week) challenge. It's fresh and different.
Starting my fifth Bandit Nest later. If this one doesn't yield granite, I'm pretty sure I'll just give it up. I like the idea of the quest line, but it's pretty clear huge tweaks are needed, to avoid making it prohibitively expensive doing it.
I am 46 and just finished the whole quest line. I was 45 when I received the quest so I am in the 36~45 quest range.
I think I am pretty lucky to get granite in my 1st run of both bandit nest and old friend.
I did about 4 witch of the swamp after bandit nest and got 2 old friend.
Now I have 1 extra old friend I can sell.
update: just sold old friend for 900gc
u lucky son of gum
I get tit ore from my first Bandit nest. Started 2nd and hope for better result - making this adv. with one BHG only realy sux :/
BTW - my February granite:elogs record was 8:14 for elogs... is the granite:elogs ratio realy equal?
I also only have 1 BHG.
I just follow this guide for the block.
http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/t...l=1#post201196
except I clear camp 10 first with 153R47S in case that block fail.
how come players levels 45+ get 2/3 player adventures that can be much easier obtained than the 36-44 level players, who have to purchase over-inflated priced adventures !!!
not only is m'love easier to obtain than old friends, they can also achieve there quest goals via purchasing loot-spots for both m'love & dark knights at much more reasonable prices ?!
The quest chain is completely impossible for a lev 37 player like me. Even if I did have all my storage full of everything, and I'd blow everything on this quest chain, it'd still be far out of reach. Even if I got incredibly lucky and procced all the loot requirements on first attempts, I'd still not be very optimistic about it.
Maybe if there was no time limit, this might be a fun thing to do at a relaxed pace. (I'm probably not the only player that isn't exactly hardcore about a relatively simple browser game.)
But even without a time limit, there are also rewards that make me consider just abandoning the whole quest chain. Like having to own 500 longbowmen (that I'd have to just get killed afterwards) for 300 brew? Yeah, no.
Hi I totally agree that all the adventures to be done by any level should have been 2 player. I would though point out that Black Knights was not the adventure I had to do with Motherly Love but Surprise Attack. Not available in TO at this time and 500 map fragments from the shop only and it is of course 2 player. Now that i and others have finished our quest we will help others lower that want it or need it and I am sure other guilds are doing the same. These quests are about team work which makes them more fun. Some of our members of lower levels are doing very well on their own. Some have also had incredibly bad luck. Doing Motherly Love 11 times is not cheap or exactly fun. But that is what makes a game interesting.
Don't give up? Well, here's some food for thought from an average lev 37 perspective:
- 10 granite through long treasure search: 24h or 48h? (I forget) for each attempt (% unknown to me and depends on number of scouts ofc). I'd say it's fair to assume this takes a couple of days.
- Produce 100 exotic wood planks: 10 hours with lev 1 exo sawmill, buffed
- Produce 250 longbows: 15 hours with lev 3 longbowmaker, buffed.
(And do I really want to make a longbowmaker for this quest if I'm normally using xbows?)
- Produce 100 gift baskets: 17 hours with lev 3 provision house
- Outlaws with <500 recruits: even with optimal setup from a guide, and assuming I've stockpiled weapons, beer and instant settlers, takes a lot of time to produce the required troops with lev 3 barracks. Depends on generals and how well you do it but easily more than 1d.
(Also takes quite a while to play the adventures repeatedly, assuming you don't know the adventures by heart at lev 37.)
- Bandit nest: again something like 1d+ worth of units, and with 33% chance. It could take 1 day or 10 days.
- Produce 200 settlers without using bread: 50 hours on base 4/hour rate, love potions and village schools help somewhat but still 1d+
- Own 500 longbowmen: ~1d with lev 3 barracks and messes up your population.
(So you need to get 500 other troops killed first, and then get these longbowmen killed once you're done.)
- Old friends: easier adv and 61% chance, but still random.
+ a whole bunch of easier requirements.
So yes it's technically possible if you play optimally, dedicate your life to it (no thanks) and get lucky with loot drops. That's not realistic for most players though. Therefore they can't expect to get the 500 gems, and so they need to judge whether it's wise to do some of the quests (like 500 longbowmen for 300 brew) at all. The other option is to abandon the whole thing at some point when the reward for an individual quest [ Censored ]. And some of them sure do.
Please keep it PEGI7,

If nobody cared to do things better, we'd still poop in the forest and run around in animal skins, sleeping in caves.
Lucky you. I'm now counting TWENTY-ONE adventures in a row dry of granite. Lol!Quote:
FYI so far each adventure that require me to find granite....guess what.....I got granite first time.
Update from me - I eventually got granite on Motherly Love adventure - after 11 attempts
Not bad for whats supposed to be a 33% chance!!!!!!!!
[suspicious thinking]would BB really want to earn their 1250 diamonds back before they are given out?[/suspicious thinking]
On stage 10 of the 46-50 band with a week spare, to all those saying it's not possible... It is. That's even after having to do 8 MLs...
For clarity - it is not that it is impossible, it is that it is down to luck (random chance from reward drops) as to whether it is possible. There is a big difference.
The quest chain is clearly possible IF one is lucky with the reward drops and are prepared to sacrifice the huge amount of resources. The problem is that the quest chain depends on that luck - that is what is wrong. Luck has no part in good game design. The quest chain is simply bad game design.
+1 or What BobLurker Said.
Being at the lower end of a level set makes completing these Quests a great deal more difficult, beyond that, 'luck' should have had the smallest possible role "Crisis" or no.
Absolutely right! Ive now completed 4 bandits nests and no luck so far, the problem is the adventures in the 36-45 are not only single player but are really expensive to obtain, and I dont believe those percentages for granite/exotic logs etc, 33% chance of granite? No chance! And please dont come back and say its even! Your in a minority if thats the case cause everyone I talked to so far has had a 25% or less granite drops from adventures!
And 500 gems would not even buy what's been used up in the quest.
Just seems so wrong ending up buffing Christmas trees and rocks, just to make up the numbers to help a friend achieve a level, can't wait for all the requests for Bandit's Nest to start, betting that the Trade Office has already marked these up by a few thousand percent.
