Steve,
I think 3 is the correct amount, having more would have a negative effect and unbalance the game too much.
So i think i am with billy on this one, it seems that you have not looked at all the pro's and conn's that this would have on the game.
Davey
Devey, what cons? I'm talking about letting us have 3 more, you're saying 6 would mess things up? How? The idea was it would free up three licences, the only con would be we would save pinewood, but how is that a con? Seems like a pro to me.
And Billy, I didn't even see your comment, but if all you can do is make inflamatory remarks I suggest you stop posting here
There are what appear to be strange limitations on numbers of various gem items. I assume that there are reasons for these limitations - the license one is an example - purchase of a stack of licenses and then the building loads would appear to give an unfair advantage, but the person has paid his money! . . . By the time you get to that stage, there isn't a lot of room left on your island so I wouldn't have thought you would be putting loads of recyclers in - there just isn't room to build them!
Personally, I would prefer to see things like granite mines appaer, but of course that would throw the economics side of the game out, and I suppose allowing everyone an extra 3 recyclers would probably do something similar . . .
hi Steve,
you say it would only be 3 licences. What about the pinewood production need to support the coking plants?
So having 3 more recycling plant could actually free up 11 licences.
Therefore would this be too much of an advantage in the game to people that buy gems?
In my opinion, i think it would be. I know people that are still saving gems to get their first recycler never mind their 6th.
BB, have to tread a fine line to keep the balance of the game, yes they need to make money from selling gems and people that buy gems should have an advantage/easier time but also they have to keep the none paying players because they are the bulk of the playing community that keep things, like trade going.
So yes, i do think that up'ing the recyclers to 6 would make a massive difference, and most deffinatly not a good one !
hi Davey -
thanks for your point about how many licenses you need to produce the equivalent recycler - not being a very heavy coal user myself, have never worked out the number! I personally only have 1 and I seem to remember getting it with Christmas presents last December or January!
I think you might be surprised by the numbers of people though who do spend money on gems and the amounts that some spend - but if you compare the hours of entertainment you get from this game compared to the hours you get from buying a trad game, the amount spent on gems / hour play is extremely small !! . . .
Now let's see 1200 gems from leveling max number left for me, will have to rely on getting a vet general, which is 5k gems, + will need at least another 10 licenses, take away 650, mmm could be tight to buy anything else + need somemore nobles . . . goes off muttering . . .
Davey, people who spend money already have a massive advantage when it comes to licences, I have all 335 and I had to buy them, so the extra 11 is not a huge advantage to me, and the choice is yours, if you want the 11 licences you can simply spend money and get them, people who buy gems will always have an advantage, so I don't think your point is valid.
i got max lisences to but i sure would love more resyklers not that am short of lisences now is just they handy and i like them
I did another thread licences - recyclers. Licences are way better than recyclers, 10 licences can actually be equivelant of 2-3 recyclers and are cheaper.
Unless you buy them all, that is the way to go.
After a certain point, licences dont make much difference TBH.
Expensive buildings need huge support, and the whole chain needs to be buffed. high-end buildings even if are a lot, dont have the prime materials needed, which are pretty cheap to buy if you are high level.
I am lvl 39, i have 10 out 235 licences free (+- 3/4 depending on mines that run out).
I have gems to buy more licences, but it will not make a difference, except maybe coal that runs on autopilot.
All other structures need support, refilling, rebuilding.
For example my provision house cannot support more fishers, i will not be able to fill them up.
For a baker i will need farms+mills+water... settlers, a lot of things for a thing that in the end i can just buy.
I would build more weapon makers etc, but i need to buff them all. Unless i buff them (which is costly), materials used cost more than output. Extreme example = gold chain.
Same more or less goes for weapons. Having unbuffed 4 iron weapon makers+ its support costs more in prime materials, than the final output. You could just buy that in the market.
I am in the point that i have to spent for example 7 building licences to get one 2 hardwood sawmill, which would be a really small difference in my output.
well sure id like 10 lisences to id take any thing i went jippi wen we got the free 5 lisences in the fotty event
Why are the Recycling Manufactories not tradable? what's the point on that? i'm not the only one who wants that and i believe its fair from any point of view to have them tradable. It is very frustrating to not have the posibility of getting more than 2 RM!
You have the possibility. In Merchant, under the Arhitect section you can buy further 3, 990 gem/each, if I'm well, and also expected at other events.
The way I see its because you would cut down in a lot of pine cutters and cooking plants if you could get lots of RM. Probably this is not the reason but in fact, you woulld save a lot of licenses if you could get unlimited RM.
No building which has a limited quantity beside it in the gem shop is tradeable. This includes things like the recyclers and village schools.
Things without general caps are tradeable, such as deerstalkers huts and silos. Note that even though some things like deerstalkers huts do have limits when purchased with event items, it's the status of whether they are 'limited' in the shop that's relevant.
During last years Christmas when the deerstalker was only in the event and not in the shop yet, it was not tradeable. It only became tradeable afterwards.
It's unlikely the recycler is going to change at this point.
You do have the possibility of getting more than2. You can get 2 as event rewards and purchase another 3 making 5 in total. Players who have been around for a while could have gotten 2 last year as well making a total of 7. Either way 5 recycling manufactories plus 6 coal mines and a few coking plants should power even the most coal hungry of islands.
Keeping it plain and simple........ can we get more recycle plants in the gem shop, make them tradable if need be, then people who don't buy gems can get their hands on some too through trade.
4 more coming over xmas event...
Well that is a start I suppose, I still want/need more though.
after event will be max 13 recycling i think that is more than enough
recycling always must be limited and non tradable
It depends how often you play, how you play and what you rely on, 13 recycle plants would have been enough before we had to make our own weapons and extra iron bars, steel bars and titanium bars for pvp/e.
13 recycle plants is only 13k coal per 12hrs all at level 5, titanium smelter takes 6.8k alone at level 5, plus 1k per level 5 copper or 2k per bronze sword, 3.3k per iron smelter. which amounts to almost even right there (unbuffed) nevermind dama sword, steel sword, iron sword gold smelters etc.
I don't know if this production week (2 weeks) will stick around longer but if it does then 13 recyclers is certainly not enough, I don't fancy relying on making extra coker chains, I have 8 already.
I would accept a reduction in the cost of coal per metal would also solve the issue.
all buildings must be useful including coking plant, if bb add more recycling coking plant will be worthless
i need 97k coal per 12h now with this 50% faster production
http://prntscr.com/5aquu7
mine is roughly the same maybe more, I couldn't tell you as some are upgrading to lvl 5 for the pvp/e, how many cokers do you have?
I'll take that point you made of them being worthless (like brews and fisheries are now for some), maybe a few extra for gems, not thinking about the event that is bonus, some people haven't got all the event recycles from the past.
If production week happens to become permanent then in my opinion we need several more in shop.
but players don't build a lot brewery and fisherman
coal production use a lot licences.
we got coal refills in loot use them, build coal mine upgrade on lvl 5 and use refills.
also we always got coal in loot now, you can get from loot 5-6k coal
You make it sound easier than it really is, by 6k coal you mean doing tailor adventures?
I have done loads of adventures and get 600-1k refills (not counting the tailors)..... as for level 5 coal mines just to be self sufficient, relying on refills, forget that.
I will see what happens after the 9th of December, get a better perception of what lies ahead.
i play rb, every rb give me 800 coal + in every second rb i got 1x 800 coal refill
we need more coal, but also we got more coal in adventures.
before no one has lvl 5 coal mine, but now a lot players will have lvl 5 coal mine
tradable recycling - never
increase limit from 3 to 5 in gem shop - i will support
ok all that said, let me throw out some numbers, without going into to much detail of what you need to keep your island up and running for your adventures and pvp/e plus your gold production at 97k coal consumption.
coal mines x6 @ 9.6k
recyclers x9 @ 9k
cokers (say you have 13) @ 13k
is 31.6k lets call it 32k, so that is minus 65k coal, now you can buff all coal to make it minus 33k.
I know you turn things on and off to compensate and I know we do overproduce some weapons etc. I agree that an infinite supply of recyclers is not the answer I was just throwing that out there, I'd take it tho in all honesty ha.
I'm glad you support for an extra couple in shop, I would also be happy with that, it would help.... in any case I'm not sure what my consumption is after the 9th December but I hope its nothing like this, I have never run my high end smelters because I never had to only for short bursts on quests.
it lasts for 2 weeks, make the most/worst of it :)
lol fair enough Jolly :-)
Fluff face - No disagreement with anything you say... but no weapons from quests... get used to running the smelters and a whole lot more...
Happy Settling :)
Would be nice if we could upgrade them to lvl6 rather than the improved silo, I've worked out I need 148k granite to upgrade those to lvl6 and gain 8 spaces, not even going there
I think it should be in everyone best interest to be removed the limit for this building. At high level we need more coal prod.
So everything runs with GREEN on my production i need a total of 75.000 coal per 12 hours.
-1 too many limited buildings have become unlimited already - whilst i also always need more coal i dont like this idea :(
And is better to have an unbullanced production then having that limited building?
The idea that coal recycling is giving you 100% free coal, no resource sink here like another buildings that unlimited. Without limit, no more pine logs needed, epic woodyard will become worthless, more space for another chains, means drop in prices and break the economy, so -1 ... I'm suffering with coal as well, but hey it is a challenge, what is the game without a challenge!
Anyway, even if you so short in coal, you can buy them with cheap price from TO, you saying 75K/12 of consuming, I bet you have a good weapon chains, you can sell some for coal :)
Also you have mines, they really very usefull, you have industrial mines, and use refills, they also cheap, you get tons of refills from BKs and RBs, not counting another adventures!.
oh noes: "but that would mean new people can have the same stuff as old people"
if op is correct current situation might create situations where new have something to sell to old. which is good.
or has the situation deteriorated enough that every new gets showered by res from old and only has to show up and send gens?
i see people star moving coal so maybe ask them for it?
oh and why bother with outdated? improved recycler is the thing to want! ;)
-1.
If we can just buy what ever we need instead of work for it, what is the challenge in the game?
We do need to have some challenges in the game, so just leave it as it is.
-1, how would I trade my excess coal?
