Hello, since the anniversary gift versions of these are found to be bugged (see http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/t...tfield-rebuild) what can we expect to happen to those items?
Apologies for linking to a closed topic, but it's a vitally important economic question that might be easily answerable if a BB policy for it already exists.

You have got to be kidding? Vitally important economic question? You are taking this game WAY too seriously...
It's a bug, it'll be fixed when it's fixed. If you invest to exploit a bug, that's your decision and your risk. End of story.
I always take games seriously :p If there's a set policy in place dealing with things like this then it would be good for people to know so that no-one need risk anything.
I'd prefer it for BB to say all these items will be reverted to normal ones, and if that's a known policy then it answers this question. If it's not a known policy then I'll feel so cheated if they later decide that people can keep the ones they have. Sometimes companies do that, and that's the entire point of this thread. If it's a possibly that might happen then I'd sell all my nobles and invest everything I had into them - that's why it's a vital question.
You are wrong, man. I.e. - I hever had these items before, thought they are OK. And later I was sure it's kind of special gift (I never suspect BB can [do it so wrong instead of the f-word] the Birthday gift). So... I think many people were sure it's not a bug, they bought some more fields/wells and now they feel little 'cheated'. There would be no probblem if fields/wells be not-tradeable, but they were, some people spent GC and they just do not like it.Quote:

Ok so that confirms that IF DEPLETED it should vanish but doesnt clarify if demolishing them when not empty will return them to our star menu or wether that bit is also a bug?

Right Dorkan, and it was monday 17:23. And I found first rumors like 'it's a bug' sunday late evening. But before sunday packed fields were about 400gc (little less for wells). And I can imagine if someone bought 10 fields and now feels [you know how].
It's fixed already on the test server so expect it to be fixed on live shortly.
I didn't receive either of them for the anniversary, perhaps that was a bug too?
I am one of those, who didn´t believe it possible for bb to change the programming of an item unintentionally... But hoorah, they managed it, and I´m thoroughly impressed! Kudos to you, who have become cynical enough to expect bugs around every corner, without loosing interest in the game. I guess I´m getting there, one or the other... ;)
Buying 10 fields was not a huge investment, nothing worth crying over. But having spent a day trading, I had managed to get the numbers of fields I had to rebuild every day down to a level that wasn´t painful anymore, as well as solving several placement issues. I was blissfully happy for a day or two, now it all gets taken away. That bugs me.
Bb has answered the massive moaning over endless bugs, errors and misinformation, by sprinkling gem gifts over us since halloween. Not to be ungrateful, but as a player, I want to be rewarded for my actions, not for hanging around waiting for gifts or compensation from the company. Add in this kind of arbitrary rule making on the go, and you have a game that pacifies instead of inspiring to action. (How many are ready to go at the next event after eotw?)

People who've bought wells and fields and do not read these forums. Only to find after Wedesdays maintenance, all their fields are no longer 'gold stared' fields, but normal trade shop ones that don't return to star menu. All that gold investment wasted.
- And I'm sure BB has noticed how many people bother spending 95 gems on these fields.... apart from 2-3 naieve newbies, NONE. Tells you how useful they are doesn't it? :) I know this won't change anything. But at least if they were re-usable if demolished before exhausting, then people might get them (even then they are not worth the gems to everyone). Right - items description is realy poor in TSO. Looks like made to misslead newbies and suck more money.
Item description is poor in places, but I don't think it's intentional. I mean, just look at BHG - it doesn't list the most important feature which is that he fights twice as fast.Quote:

Bug, is when some functionality is not working as it should be, like history of the TO. Mistake, but definitely not a bug, is when some1 sent you gift, that is misconfigurated item(intentionally or not). What if banking employee enter my 1000 euro deposit into the banking software as 100 Paraguayan guarani? Software bug or mistake?
I, as a developer, can imagine how this could happen:
BB's programmer made separate application that send mass in-game messages to specific players(the test of the application was performed on test server multiple times days before... a lots of messages with gems was received by me). Each message contain items and this items configurations are hardcoded into the "application", because the "application" is not part of the game and therefore can't get directly the configuration of the field/well (e.g. the desired ones). Somewhere between the copy/paste of the configuration into the app, some1 make a mistake and now we have fields/wells that are "buggy".
I understand that BB have to keep balance between player's interest and their own and I'm sure it's not a easy task, but if my imginary scenario is (close to) the truth... "bug" is not the word.

Problem is that it's BB's mistake, and players should not loose out because of BB's mistake. But players WILL loose out, and there will be no compensation for loss of gold/resources used to purchase the 'mistaken' gift BB sent. You'll just log in to find your field is a normal Trade Shop one, and will not return to star menu. Goodbye.
Nobody is going to lose out except idiots who tried to take advantage and are now crying foul.
Everyone who accepted the gift in good faith, and maybe used the exploit a couple of time to good effect, has gained from it.
I suggest this thread be closed. It's just an excuse for people to rant about their own errors of judgement.
This game is full of mistakes and haphazard implementation of bugged concepts and items. (It's supposedly BETA still after all). And those 'idiots' you speak of have been finding ways to use what is dealt them by the developers to benefit them for a long time. And often to great effect.Quote:

Never was it mentioned, until just recently, that the items BB gifted were meant to be anything other than what they are. And it's only been commented on by Moderators, and not confirmed at all by BB.
This is not the first time BB has introduced things to the game that don't fit with other parts of the game. And some of those things were intended as they were. So it's not a far leap for people to assume this 'gift' from BB was intentional. BB have still not said it isn't. BB have not said anything at all, they never do. All we've heard is comments from Moderators, who themselves have said they do not represent BB, but only work for them in the capacity of Moderators, not developers/imperilmentors.
As is always the case, players are left in the dark, guessing as to what they are meant to do with what they are given without any information.
So hop off your pedestal, stop the insults and name-calling, and post something remotely constructive, or at least true/accurate.
