I have bought a floating residence but my max population is unchanged? any ideas
Have you fully built it (taken it from star menu, placed in available spot in water and finished construction)?
If so, maybe try demolishing it and rebuilding. If that still does not work, send a ticket to support.

I've placed all 5 floating residences, upgraded them all to Lv 3, and my population has gone up from 5,210 to 5,510 as I'd expect...
There's therefore nothing wrong with mine, so Floaty's do work generally. As an addition to Tripi's suggestions above, you could also try a refresh, which can often fix problems with wrong numbers...

Just to put some more rumours into the mill: I heard from someone that the first floater they built worked just fine, the second only added 10 population. Don't know if refreshing solved that problem.

Moved to bugs, seems like a better location for this! dorkan are you able to let us know if a refresh fixed the issue?
I had the same problem, but after all were upgraded to lv3 and at least one refresh, the pop cap was as expected
Steps to reproduce this bug:
- Start construction of the floating residence.
- Visit a friend's island.
- Return to the home island.
The floating residence appears to be fully built yet still has a long time to finish.
I think also the annoying longbowmaker quest caused it to appear fully built too, but I wasn't able to confirm this as I wasn't looking out for it when I suspect it happened the first time.
It's definitly only a visual bug, no need to rebuild it.
