I also have this problem. The longbows quest is gone from the quest book.

Same issue here. Tooltip on 'other islands' quest only mentions that Longbows must be completed.
Apparently there's a second condition not mentioned in the tooltip?

Have problem with this quest too...I've done what's been asked in the "other islands"-quest, but can't pay the resources...when I click the button nothing happens...however I get the reward for the main quest "ranged units"...and now I'm stucked with the "other islands"-quest

I have "Longbows" task but it is after "other islands" quest. I cannot unlock "longbows" quest although I have lvl25+ and a longbowmaker. "other islands" quest depends upon "longbows" but cannot unlock "longbows" quest as it is higher in the chain.
What can I do? Wait for devs to update the database or ... something else?
Let's start by having the devs to become more responsive. Currently not even a clue if someone is having a look at it, while everybody is blocked by it.
Same issue for me... Only just realized the problem. Geez that was 12 lvls ago!! And it was reported about two months ago?!?
I am a little concerned that there STILL is no solution yet. Must be a tough one as there is almost no response AT ALL.
I sent tickets to admins and got response that they are working on it...
You sent a ticket to the admins or did you buy yourself a ticket for the Bahamas? Second seems more useful to me.
This bug - not a minor one - outstanding now for 6 months. If this ain't solved, that what does get solved?

For a long time the "Longbows" quest did not appear in my quest book. I contacted support about this and another quest issue (concerning "Militia" - which has recently been fixed) only to be told all they could do was pass the issue on to the Devs.Quote:

Since when is the Longbows quest the problem? For me its the Other Islands quest that was not unlocked after completing the longbows quest.

MrBranch thanks for notifying me by thread, couldn't find the thread back when I wanted to respond, so doing it here.
The "quest doesn't unlock" issue has been around for a while now, and doesn't only affect "Ranged Units". I've added this thread in my overview of reported issues thread under nr 3 of "quest doesn't unlock"-issue.
I'm afraid I can't do much more then collect it and hope it will be seen by the devs.

Why did I never notice?!
The fourth sub quest is "Other Islands". It unlocks when you finished the "Longbows" quest.
The fifth sub quest is "Longbows". It unlocks if you are "level 25", have a "longbow maker" and finished the "Other Islands" quest.
Dumbest thing ever. And it takes BB already many months to figure out why it's not working? At least that's the biggest joke ever :)
the quest "Join the army" doesn't unlock for ages although all requirements are met, I wouldn't worry, but it promises two Improved drill plans, which goes well in the market :)
I don't see what "join the army" has to do with it or why I should not worry. The worrying is gone long time now by the way. In the meanwhile I accept that BB is not very willing in solving bugs.
August 2013 and i got the same bug, met criteria, but no unlock for "Longbows". Ticket to support I guess.
Yes, raise another ticket. Who knows....who knows....perhaps they'll pay attention to you...
there is a stuck quest chain on my island.
main quest chain - quest chain-the battle-sub quest - complete the `` join the army `` quest.
any suggestions....??

It seems some bugs have been solved via latest maintenance. Nice...were on the right track. However, priorities keep amazing me. I would have guessed this one to be among the top 3 priorities.
Any fix coming for this chain quest? Is a fix at least planned?

Official announcement that the beta-phase is coming to an end.
What am I not understanding here? This thread is still reporting that one of the main quest paths cannot be finished.
What official announcement ? Yes we have received the goods for it via mail, but nothing said in the forums or the front page. For all we know those mails could have been sent out by accident, or the result of a bug.

The end of the beta-phase is not related to the creation of the "Verified Bugs" section. The announcement was on the homepage (beneath the submarine post) around August 20 16:00 BST (maybe somewhat earlier)
There is indeed a thread for this issue in the newly created "Verified Bugs" section. This section was created to have a better way for players to see what is currently not working as intended (and some other issues that come up often enough).
This main quest can be finished as long as you do so before reaching level 26 and thus most players have no problem with this issue. It's still an annoying issue for those that didn't manage to finish the quest in time and that's why it's now in the "Verified Bugs" section.
