No chat server is available

I have no chat, only news. Keeps trying to connect and then failing. All since maintenance ended, as usual!

Edit: Also no green dots on online friends.

Same here, but mail seems to work fine, only chat seems to be down for now...

Think chat server forgot to change its login id to an e-mail and cant log into u-play anymore. Serves it right for not reading spam mail in game :P

Not sure if anyone noticed this or if it has been mentioned yet, but it appears that the Chat Server is down. I'm unsure if this is a new functionality in order to ensure PEGI-7 compliance, or a late April Fools joke, or perhaps something in between.

I suspect it is an undocumented feature that was recently introduced by the easter bunny. It would be good to understand if this is the future direction, or we should expect a change in chat related functionality in the near future.

yep same prob here too, very anoying yet again a BB ploop, No Chat Global-1 :mad:, No Guild Chat :mad: , No Trade Chat :(, No Green light for friends or guild memebers :mad: !

I think the chatserver was delayed in coming back online after maintenance. I have no problems with chat anymore. I didn't have chat this morning, but after logging off and then logging back on again, all chat was working like it's supposed to

EDIT: a post further down (or up if you changed your sorting ;)) informed me the problem is with the Newfoundland server. Still I had the problem this morning, and do not have it now.

i still have the problem but except that,the most annoying thing is that noone from bb came here to say few words about that..
they will send after 5 eggs to everyone and they will believe that everything its ok..
so rude..

Hey guys, BB are aware of the issue and are trying to resolve now

peck_ed, your post is very much appreciated. However, it has taken around three and a half hours from the first post in this thread for any response, and then when that response comes, it is from a forum moderator, and not from BB. I certainly don't think that taken on it's own this particular incident is anything other than a minor irritant for the vast majority of players, but I do think the response (or lack thereof) from BB is symptomatic of a wider problem, and one that is far more serious - and that is the way that BB handles its contact with players .

Why wasn't a message put on the homepage telling people that BB were aware of the problem and are doing everything they can to fix it? Why didn't someone from BB come onto this thread and explain the situation. Why hasn't anyone from BB made an announcement on the forums?

I wouldn't dream of quitting the game over a little incident like this. But as more incidents occur, and BB continue to mismanage the way they handle them, it can only lead to increased dissatisfaction with the game. And surely that isn't a good thing, is it?
