There may be an issue with visiting certain players' islands. I tried to visit one particular player and got stuck with a 'loading map' notice. The only way out of the screen was to refresh. I tried refreshing/relogging to see if that worked, but still got the same issue with the island in question. I was also able to type in the 'loading map' notice.

Hey geassword, can you help us with some extra information on the problem?
Is this when going to a certain user? If so can others get to that person? Can that person get to other people? Are they offline or online and can you access their island when they change that?
its with multiple users, but other people can go to his/her island.
i tried it when he/she was online and offline and couldnt connect on both instances.
so i think the problem lies with me
I have the same issue visiting a friend's Island (Tonisoprano). Several in the guild cannot visit him but at least one can. I can visit other people.
My regular buffing partner can not visit my island.
Others can visit me.
She can visit others.
I can visit and buff her.
We have tried with me online, offline, downstairs making tea etc......
This only kicked in late afternoon - we buffed each other at least twice today before any problem developed.
Other people can visit me and buff me.
Same issue here ...

But Toni can visit me ...
6 months down the line and this is still an issue. I can't visit my buff partner either, but he can buff me.
Just been testing this a bit more. I cleared cache yesterday, so my browser shouldn't be too clogged up (using Chrome). I can visit friends who are online quickly with no problems. For the ones that are offline I get a message about loading the map, which I can type letters into, however I do arrive at the islands within about a minute.

I can visit some but not others, I promise to buff someone have their basket's then can't do it as it won't load!
I have the same problem. Could visit some of my friends and some could not. Also it seems the problem shifted, those I could not visit yestarday are accessible today and those who were accessible yestarday are not today... Very strange. I tried different browsers even different providers and PCs with no success at all.
I have the same problem,
1 person on my guild I cannot visit their island without getting the same problem "loading map" (need to reload settlers online to fix), they are online, and recently sent me a trade which i accepted and I was trying to travel to their island to place buffs.
Every other person on my guild I can visit without a problem.
Interesting - She is using chrome and frequently visits my island. I will ask if I can clear her cache (and whether she can remember her passwords!!) and give it a go.
Who else experiencing this problem is using Chrome?
have the same problems they cant visit me and i cant visit them a real pain when trying to buff each others
Since the new version, a lot of people now can't visit me. I remember this happened once before with an error message. This time it just gets stuck on loading forever on their screen.
On my screen, I see my friends portraits disappear and re-appear quickly.
Edit #1 Chrome's latest flash version is different to others. See here.
However, for me its not just chrome people are having the problem with. Firefox, IE, Chrome have been used also.
I'm not sure what could be causing it, I haven't changed anything on my isle, I don't have any of the new buildings yet...odd.
Yes of course, we have tried clearing cache of flash, browsers etc.
You can even type in the loading map box lol

Yes, Chrome here as well. Tried clearing cache etc and can also type in the loading map box. Not quite as well as the above example, but still having problems.

I report the same issue. I have tried several times trying to proceed with daily buff rutine...No access..."Loading map" for hours...
I usually use Mozilla Firefox. I am going to check with Opera...
Okay this seems to have just fixed for my friend, not sure what I did different.
Try using a program called ccleaner to remove your flash cache, then clear it in all the browsers you use (right click>settings on a flash object). Flash versions are different between Chrome and other browsers so be sure to do it in both.
You can also try what I did, allowing max storage and all settings too allow for the settlersonline here.
Bare in mind you need to goto applications in ccleaner and then in each browser delete all adobe flash cache, thats adobe flash, NOT browser cache which won't affect the game.
CCleaner doesn't work for me...I did it and nothing...
Neither Ms Raspberry nor me can visit our friend Mechanix to do dailly buffing!!!
I have adventure in progress (Nords) and I can go there, but somehow Mechanix is locked with "loading map" message...
Web browser change did not help...
It's getting worth. More and more of my friends and I cant visit each other. Same bug than first post. Cleared the cache refreshed few times after being stuck.
well,...I confirm I can visit my friends, but they can not visit me...AGRRRR....
Yup happened to me too. Bought from player baskets and when he wanted to buff me he was stuck on loading screen, but I could visit him normally. His avatar was showing to be on my map but he is in loading part then. Hope this gets fixed soon :S
I have the same issue. Some people cannot visit me anymore and I cannot visit some friends of mine.
I have the same issue. It happend roughly three hours ago.
And now I have it too - or more precisely 3 guildies can't visit my island - but I can visit theirs.... was fine last night.

I tried several different computer, Networks, Browser, Reset Browser, praying, shouting and so on.
I havent checked with others but my regular buffing partner is not able to visit me anymore, trading, whisper and I visit her still works as usual. This started yesterday late afternoon.
Please fix this.

today my Buff Buddy was again able to visit my Island. I hope it remains like that.
I have same problem, started friday afternoon, i can visit people but they cannot visit me to buff my island

Have you all logged tickets? My daughter (Caitlin02) has this problem. She cannot visit my island or any other friends' islands, which has been a problem for her completing guild quest to buff. We both use the same browser and same machine, and I do not have the problem. I have tried in Firefox, IE and Chrome. She gets the same problem that everyone else describes. It sounds like it is all only since the last maintenance. Is that right? We are both on Sandycove.
Been having the same problem for 2 days have contacted support.
I have been told, from others if you leave your guild it will sort it....it doesn't.
I have also been told, from others, that players who have experienced this BB have to reset the persons account, similar to this :

can people warn others to Screen shot their island and store in case something happens and they need to retrieve (from BB) what resources (and buildings) they have lost.
I cant confirm this, like i said i heard it thought the grape vine, BUT it's better to take a precaution, of sorts.
I have had some players who can visit but no one below level 50
I haven't yet heard of someone's account being reset due to an island visiting issue, I believe that's due to Server Zone Crashes.
it would be nice to have some feedback from BB on this... I have not contacted support, as I consider that by reporting a bug in this section, the developers have been made aware of the fact that a problem exists.
If this is a bug that is likely to be fixed, I am content to wait (I understand that it might take months).
If the developers are not working on fixing the issue, and the only option is to reset the account back to level 1, I would like to know this in advance.
Do we actually know anyone that has actually had their account reset to fix the problem? Or had that suggested from Support?
