anybody having problems with the test server?
Yes not been able to get on today, although I'm not playing much on there until they correct the pre built island like we were promised, if I can't get to the new content....I can't test it. No gems this time so the island barely has a lvl 30 economy,, 15 mins and I've used up the resources for another day!

This is [ rubbish ] i can not log in either...and of course is the weekend so that mean if something unexpected happen forget about until Monday...
The server has been down for at least 6 hours.

Can't access the test server or the test forum. Obviously something has happened to them.
This is unacceptable... The server or an unexpected error happening i understand and empathyse with all you and your had work, but at lease give us an update...
In ALL major online games the community manager ALWAYS releases information about the unfortunate and unexpected events... I am not asking for you to predict the future just a heads up on that x y z is down for unknown time and you are working on it to fix it is what you should be focusing on providing you customers...
This is just bad service... You always do that with early acquaintances, problems logging in, pages down...
Also if you ever want to make money and keep customers playing maybe you should hire an off shore team that actually takes cares of issues while you are sleeping... What happened with the balloon event was annoying the 1st time but by the third time it was just a sign of BB not caring enough for their customers...

I can get on the live sever , but the test server has disappeared altogether from my computer
This is a free to play game, and I suspect if BB had to have a team available 24/7, there might be significantly fewer free to play elements and quite a lot more paid options. Yes, it would be nice to have 24/7 support and communication, but there are still many online sites that do office hours. It is the test server that is down - I think there would be a different response for live servers being down. Test is just for people to help BB try out new content, etc.Quote:

I believe this is only temporary, the development team will get it back online as soon as possible :).

I've tried Evony and didn't like it much - it's got even more pay for stupid stuff than TSO, even more players that can't seem to read the instructions and a lot of male players that seem to have been duped into playing via some 'interesting' adverts. It may work as a f2p with high churn and low expectations of the players, but it's not necessarily a model that BB should be considering. How about treating players like intelligent human beings that can work out the odd bit of strategy and will buy gems for useful objects. The high-churn/low expectation f2p model is based on players being fools and easily duped into parting with their money. Therefore the calibre of players in the game tends to sink to the lowest common denominator and the game ends up being just another trite pvp game in a sea of pvp games.Quote:

There's no point comparing Evony with this game, both games are aimed at different gaming demographics.
That both server and forums are down point to something more serious than a simple failure the nature of which I refuse to speculate on. One thing is for sure BB if they have any common sense will be launching an investigation into what happened and asking themselves how can we prevent the same happening to the live servers. This will not because of how they feel about us but because such an event here will kill the money supply from gem sales, their investors will not be happy about that.
Due to the nature of the failure even when they get it fixed it could take upto 72 hours for the DNS servers across the web to become aware that the site is back up, so don't expect to be able to log back in as soon as it's fixed.
This is the second day we've been unable to reach TSO. I appreciate there may not be 24/7 support but some sort of notice would have been appreciated, a simple common courtesy certainly not beyond BB.

It would be nice if this information could be passed on to all forums, instead of leaving us to search the German forum. However, at least BB did manage to make an announcement somewhere. Obviously it is a major problem and I hope they can get it resolved without too much loss of data.Quote:
