Well, the first thing that went wrong is communication with the community.. And it's no good to have a maintenance page and not update it when things do not go according to plan...

I heard a nasty rumour that they lost all the data and are trying to retrieve it off of off-site backups! But the most recent one they have is 3 months ago!
(I am of course, starting this nasty rumour as I am bored and have no brew).

it isnt that strange that they overrun

They are pushing a big content patch to live servers- which always has a risk of glitches and then overruns

big patch= 90% chance of running over time if other games can be used as a benchmark :P

same re high ends and cant buff or turn off and going to work soon that will be all day no buffs and mine down cheers

For those who are worried about buffs/mines: Remember, the maintenances are always planned, so always plan for it to go wrong :P Just shut everything down and play as if it will be down for a day.

For BB: Since it is now beyond the 'scheduled' maintenance window, it would be appropriate to update the news on the front page to indicate a new time, or just put a note *Scheduled maintenance still in progress, ETA 1h/2h/Soon

Me, I think they are looking for some backup tapes to restore the backup from 6 months ago, but the DBA misplaced the key to the closet, so they have to call him from his summer holidays to fly back in and open it.

hi , maintenance ends thursday 0600+1h, lol. i can fully understand that there may be probs with maintenance and it might take longer, BUT, wouldnt it be nice if those in power bothered to let us know on the frontpage just how long, if at all, it will be till settlers comes back.

well of to illyriad for a couple of days if this is the way the devs bother to run the site and dont even try to keep us updated... and they want us to spend money on this, there haveing a laugh eh.
