So many people have asked the question in various threads, but I havent seen a single official answer to it.. All we have done is make suppositions as players.
Please BB_Alpaca, can we have a direct answer as to why they were pulled from the epic store, and will the devs be bringing them back in any shape or form in the not-too-distant future?
I'm sure there are many others who want the same question answered, whether they liked the generals or not.

So far BB have failed to prove me wrong, I said when they chose star coins over new levels it would be a total bust.
Why is it a total bust? at least when a raised level cap everyone that's been 50 doesn't automatically go from level 50 to level 60 in 1 day because they had completed 50 million in experience once they was level 50 over a year ago, new level cap would give no enjoyment to players that wish to continue on collecting new experience to reach 60 slowly once a cap raise arrived? at least the star coins have controlled the experience everyone's accumulated since reaching level 50 and then BB can add a level raise when they are ready to and the friendly competition of leveling up again can be enjoyed server wide.Quote:

I always maintained that rise in level cap would not solve anything as players who had accumulated exp would reach that new cap in no time at all. Now level 50 players have new goals and targets they still find something to moan about, just because an item they had been expecting has been delayed for an indefinite period of time. At least with an additional wait more level 50 players and those who are close to level 50 will have a bit more time to make sure they have enough star coins for new content when it is rolled out to the live servers.
Star coins are a total bust because:-
-A few items in the shop do not equate to actual gameplay and do nothing to extend the games life.
-Most of the items are either overpriced or useless or useless because they are overpriced.
-The new star coin generals that were meant to be the top items were a total failure and have been removed, do we really need a fourth Vet or a general that is useless on attacks, useless for blocks and useless for transport? The fact that BB implemented these even on test was just lazy and sloppy work.
-The game is already saturated with plenty of store items to save up for, even for people that have been level 50 for a considerable time.
-Star coins are not stopping level 50s quitting.
-Fairy Tale adventures which most 50s play don't even give star coins.
As for new levels:-
-I'd again love to be proved wrong but I don't see BB introducing new levels in the future now. The Fairy Tale Adventures would have surely been the time if they were to - new adventures offering larger amounts of XP and all the references to L50s as End Gamers.
-I'd have quite happily forgoed any XP earned whilst I was L50 for new levels and I'm sure everybody else would given the choice. Nobody actually ever earned any XP since level 50 and nobody was really expecting to get it back apart from the odd few that thought for some reason they could store it in their mailbox.
-Do you really believe that all of the gameplay, enjoyment and sense of accomplishment completing the first 50 levels is equivalent to being able to buy a few tailor adventures etc with star coins? You'd happily give that up again for some shop items?
-Levels act as a distinguisher between players. Now more than half my medium sized guild are level 50 and it would be even more but for all of the people that stopped playing when they found BB considers them 'End Gamers' after all of the time and money they have invested. Maybe when everybody is level 50 they could just scrap levels all together?
-Even if the +50 levels were massive, I'd still rather be levelling albeit slowly than sitting at the same level permanently.
-New levels have been massively overdue for a long time and consistently one of the most requested new features yet BB just makes promises that never arrive and delivers stuff that nobody asked for or wanted.
-Nothing that BB have added in the last year even comes remotely close to what adding another set of levels would achieve.
-New levels would not be difficult to implement and could be added very quickly. I believe that BB is not adding extra levels for pure commercial reasons. They don't want players to play long term, they want a regular turnover of new players who buy all of the store items then play for a year or so and then quit at which point they are no longer consuming the resources of the datacentre so not costing BB further money.
As for the new 'Epic Raids' - they're already stale imo, a small number of new adventures to play ad nauseum. It took a couple of months of half-hearted gameplay to get everything worthwhile from the new store items.
So, what now? Had there been new levels to go with these new adventures, there'd be no level 50s 'moaning'... Try walking a mile in somebody else's shoes first.
Can someone of the "we need more levels" side of the argument please explain what we'd get from these new levels other than... hmm let's see, new buildings, new options in combat, possibilities for bigger islands / larger population?
Level 51 is just a number for those desperate to be competitive in a non-competitve game.
I, for one, think the new content is great. Some of it perhaps needs refinement but I for applaud BB for several steps in the right direction. Keep it coming.
Back to the original post though. I had my eyes on a legendary vet and look forward to an official statement as to whether we will be able to buy one in the future.

51+ level wise is just a number to me not that important. As what happens say when we all get to level 60 then people be wanting more levels again so there's no point in my eyes to make more as it will never be high enough for some people.
Some are useless and over priced but some are fine its just a balancing act, same as some stuff with gems are worth it and some aren't. all you need to do it get what you want if you so wish.Quote:

Almost a year ago to this day BB again repeated that the level cap would be raised.

On the subject of accomplishment - yes, I got a buzz doing my first epic. I got a kick getting my FT castle. Getting the MG was a kodak moment too. The sense of progression and accomplishment is still there. And no - it's not just epic item. Science system is a great innovation. I look forward to upgrading my generals. Collectibles is a nice diversion too - not to everyone's taste - fair enough - take it or leave it.
BB have broken many promises. I guess they have lots to learn about communication. No argument there. If I recall the announcement about the deleting unclaimed loots caused such an uproar that they rethought things. Can't have it both ways.
The problem with adding more levels is it will lead to an expectation that progression is infinite. when we reach lv60 what then? Will I really have to get 20 million xp to unlock a new building. Star coins offer different choices depending on your gameplay. Yes, I agree much is fluff or badly priced, but ranged attacks and potions are very useful. Those choosing not to pay have a new gem option too. By introducing new content without restricting it to level, I think BB are keeping the game fresh and providing variety. I expect a new round of epic adventures will be released next year.
Overall what I am trying to say is that star coins were in my opinion the final nail in the coffin for new levels and so far it's very poor.
To be fair to BB, there are some good things coming through like the rock removal (hurry up!) and there are still some things for me to personally strive for to improve my game. I'm sticking around still in the hope that a game changer does happen, maybe PVP?

As i know I use my knowledge etc to help others i don't personally play the game to expect respect or a medal or something, i do it for fun and to help others where i can. My island is balanced has been for ages so don't need it to work better most things i trade in i give to guildies anyhow as i don't need it with my balance production. all i'm doing at the moment is slowly upgrading the last i dunno 10-20 buildings to level 5 to match the rest of my island buildings.
I don't play the game to take or expect anything from it all the time, i play for fun and to help others.
I give away a lot, I'm an officer in my guild and chat a lot, I recruited well over 50% of my guild, I help out in help channel and help out friends and new players. All of which are great but they complement rather than replace gameplay imo. There's less fun to be had when there's little to do. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
