[OPEN] Timer restarts: Bookbinder takes longer the specified

Short description:
The bookbinder takes a long long time before it finishes the book it's producing. The timer seems to progress normally but seems to reset somewhere. It can do this multiple times.

• Make sure you don't have collectibles waiting to pick up (check Mayor's House)
• Make sure you are not upgrading your Mayor's House

This is a copy/paste of what I have just sent to support:

Yesterday a somewhere between 20:00-21:00 CET I set my bookbinder lvl 5 to make a tome. I work night shift so I checked it again before my shift ended and it said that it had 11 hours left to finish. I found this strange since a tome at lvl 5 should only take 16 hours+ to make. After I had my breakfast I checked again and it then said 12 hours. After 6 hours sleep it tells me 8 hours left and now more than 8 hours after it should have been completed it tells me that it has more than 9 hours to go.

Anyone else have this problem?

If they respond , it will probably be in the form of a "Letter from Auntie Strudel-Gerta" with a free bookbinder glue.

Come on people join in the wailing choir. It will be totally ignored, but at least we'll have the chance to blow of some steam.

Get this version to work or give us back beta. The customer is always right, because he is the one who pays your salary and he can stop doing that, unlike your boss whose salary he also pay, for no reason whatsoever.

No, that's not the problem. It seems as if the timer has restarted every time I have cleared my cache and gone offline for a longer period than 5 min. Except for this time. Maybe it has had something to do with the mayors house being upgraded. Now that it's finished the timer on the bookbinder hasn't restarted...yet.

Got a similar bookbinder bug. I also have my mayors house upgrading, used a resin on my L5 BB, and since then the BB timer keeps backtracking. Buff stopped this morning(but reset hasn't), back to 11hr 17 of a 12 hour cycle it started at 2pm (5 hours ago) :(

Hope I don't have to wait 4 days for the mayors house to finish before normal service resumes...

The upgrading of the mayors house seems to have been the issue. No restarts of the timers after the upgrade finished. So now, only 36 hours after it was supposed to have been finished, I have a tome. Funny that manuscripts wasn't affected by it. I have produced several of those with no problems.

OK, mine's resetting while making a manuscript right now... odd how an upgrade on one building should have any effect on another, but that does seem to be a common thread...

seems it started when the collectibles were added to mayors?

would be my guess too...

Seeing the other posts here I'm wondering if you are upgrading buildings (and did that upgrade start about two days ago) I mean any buildings, but specifically BookBinder, Mayor House, Provision House, Barracks).
Also wondering if you have the bookbinder buffed (or one of the other buildings I mentioned above)

bookbinder I raised a few months ago to l5, not two days ago when the problems started, making the book every day so I know what I'm talking about, thank you

I also have the problem with bookbinder. I think loop started at Saturday 05 October. Didn't upgraded any of my buildings and didn't buffed a bookbinder. Last night a clock was set for 13h and some minutes to finish and this morning when I logged in it was again on 17 h and something till the end.

@Rogac Where you making one of those new buffs from collectibles when this happened? Just curious.

I can confirm this is happening to me as well, I am making a tome and it keeps resetting, I have been making a tome for 2days now... I just logged on and noticed it reset again to the start thats why I was looking for a post regarding this.

Is there a solution to this or is MOD and Devs just going to sweep this under the floor?

Same problem. but i have it more than 2 or 3 days. I started upgrading mayors house to lvl5, now its nearly completed. Its seems sometimes producing minute after minute, and think its going to be good, but it reaches some point in hours and then stoping and reseting.. Its sad I lost so much days, could started upgrading that building to lvl5, having known how much time it takes to upgrade to lvl5 from 4..

Here's the last I heard from support yesterday:
[ Removed ] Edit: They thanked me for my additional information, said that others have reported the same problem and that the devs are working on it. The problem is not yet resolved.

So I guess they might be working on it. The additional information was that others that upgraded the mayor's house experienced the same problems. But it is possible that it has something to do with other things, so if you have information that could help them resolve the problem, please let them now.

My problem is the same. Have been upgrading my mayors house and made a tome but when I made manuscript its been making it for days and never finishes. Mayors house is finally finished and bookbinder is down to 4 hours so we shall see if it finally finishes. Support gave up on my complaints and said the devs were working on it but never said when they would be working on.

I have problem too, hopping they will fix tonight with script. I have bookbinder level 5 and last night at 7pm I have started manuscript. Today at 11am it says 30 minutes left, then I have to go out and at 5pm it says 7 hours left. Total disaster, before this maintance that problem did not exist, but from today it seems many players have similar problem :(

I understand that some of you that have had this problem have not upgraded the mayor's house. Have any of you made one of the new buffs from collectibles while you had these problems?

I have had this problem for a few days. Do you think it's because there is something waiting to collect from the Mayor's House?

I have been waiting for a tome to finish for a few days, even with a glue buff on the bookbinder. I also started and finished a buff in the Mayor's House at the start of that time, but didn't collect. I have a feeling that has something to do with it. I think there's shared code somewhere in there with completion of book/collectible buff. They have a similar interface for the countdown.

I've got this too, been making a manuscript for 4 days. My mayors house is currently upgrading to level 5 if that makes a difference.

same issue

I started a manuscript and a bookbinding glue at the same time. The glue has 18 hrs 30 mins left and the manuscript has 9 hrs 6 mins left. They've been going 5.5 hrs, so the manu should only have 4.5 hrs left. 2 days running I've noticed the times jump about, as I check throughout the day. I never had a problem until I started using the glues. Yesterday, the manu took longer with a glue than without.

I have the problem (with reseting of Bookbinder) also, for first time, while I always use glues.
The only difference I noticed is that a buff was "waiting" in my Mayor's house.
It seems that the bookbinder restart the Manuscript when I collect the buff from Mayor's. :(

I have a different situation.

3 weeks ago, I upgraded the bookbinder from 4 to 5. Taking it 7 days.

I did not upgrade mayor house or any other (new) building. Neither produced new items.

Today, I was able to start producing a book. But unfortunately this is hanging too...

As an addition; did not use a buff or other item to speeden up the building or use any buff to speed up barracks...

Your bookbinder won't produce while upgrading so that's normal.

However your bookbinder still upgrading, after 3 weeks have passed, isn't . Did you report the problem to Support?

Yeah I created a ticket now. Thought it had to do with the bug mentioned here. But the bookbinder for sure had to finish more than a week ago :)

BB do something about this pronto, I have had this go on now for 5 days. This is not acceptable.

I've just had this happen to me now with a manuscript... I have a glue buff active. I collected a manuscript and started another one. 6 hours later it is still showing 5h:50m... This is unacceptable... My buff is going to waste while being stuck making 1 manuscript.

I have a similar problem with a manuscript. I am not using buffs on the bookbinder but it is now starting its second day and has 18 hours to complete.

As I wrote to support, this is happening only when you producing collectable buff in Mayor's house. If you don't producing it, or it is done and you didn't pick it up, it looks it resets most of counters (bookbinder, building upgrade time...), most likely when new collectables appear on map. They told me, that they forwarded it to dev team.

Yep, my BB is still doing a self induced reset.For 5 days now.groundhog Day was never one of my favorite films.Have gone through help, with a very polite message, and stopped upgrading any buildings,but it is still doing what the heck it wants.Await my answer from the ever helpful kindhearted staff at support...............................

Hello, mine is also resetting for over 3 days now... I'm producing a tome. I'm not sure if the use of Wilderwood Resin on the Bookbinder is related to that, but this hasn't happened to me before, and it only happened(and still happening) after the use of Wilderwood Resin.

Is better to avoid using any buffs on the binder since our very own customer support will not refund you the buff if you get stuck and have it wasted for nothing...

OK, update: mayors house finished upgrading, no buffs being made, no buffs used on Bookbinder. Still resets (now at 11:35 of a 12 hour cycle it started yesterday afternoon) - most odd.

do you get any message on reset? i ve only had reset 2 times. both times the skunk buff was ready and not claimed for few hours. both times i get the message that something couldnt be started (standard message cant remember the exact wording) and i should contact support. below that is OK button and when i click it it refreshes and goes to homepage.
