May I ask that when will the developers going to start to produce a separated android application?
I d appreciate that on mobile device because these browsers are terrible!
Don't use the default browser that came with the device, I loaded on Firefox and it works fine.
only wht I can say to you is totally NO!
I dont have installed flash on my device and every browser i've just tried are craps! included dolphin what's have built-in flash!!
If i can start the game after 30min i cant control anything...
So...If the developers would be so kind and make an application I think so many people will be happy! Thank you!
HTC One X...performance? Almost the best yet! :)
the game sucks on browser. how would it work on mobile?
nice reply. ty
Any suggestion by mods or the developers? or anyone?
let's go android!
It will increase the number of users too cos now u dont have the hassle of only playing from home
An android app would be great!
Flash is dead ,this game should really dump it
By choosing to make this a browser game BB have avoided the problem of ensuring that the game runs on a particular set up. Just because the game will not run on platform X does not make it their responsibility to fix that. This is a problem for the platforms developers to fix. Your request is on par with a car driver asking Ford to supply petrol because you have run out.
Well i dont agree with your comparison. If you want to compare stuff in the car universe, you could compare it to asking Ford to kindly sell their cars in a city closer to where you live :)
It is ofc BBs choice to say "No we will not support Android or find a more capable platform than flash". And for the record i totally agree that flash is a very dead platform.
I can totally agree with u in that!
Flash always freezing for me in every browser on PC! I can't us it on Phone too and If they want more players or keeo the recent payers they should make the application son...
In other online games they starting to make the app! after the simple online internet publication they are starting to make the app...so the coders should begin to think about the new work!
Check out who choosed the "No" answer in the poll...one of them is a MOD...thank you.
You should process the paradox that to avoid flash with an android/any else app for TSO would be flash inside. It is your responsibility grooming *your* device.
And Mods are players just like the rest of us. Their opinions matter just as much.
You still don't seem able to grasp the salient point here. The game (unfortunately) was created in Flash, it needs Flash to run, you can't avoid it. Perhaps your time would be better spent finding out why your phone doesn't work properly!
it wont happen
non of on my any device worked the TSO properly!! i have 3 android phone...maybe this not my devices fault...
I also voted No.
Otherwise what about all those iPhone owners or Win8 Mobiles or Blackberry etc etc etc
Oh and whilst you're at it BB, I have an mp3 player, can you make it work on that as well........?
Hold on, my tv connects to the internet and has a pretty good screen on the front, when will you also make it work on that?
I suppose what I object to most in this thread is the assumption that BB will do this and therefore only asks 'when will' it be made available and the assumption that its wrong for a MOD to respond in a poll in a negative way. I mean I don't have an android device so why would it be useful to me...... Maybe they are in similar position.
I voted YES.
I have a pretty good android tablet but I can't play this game on it. But I'll definitely play it, if I could! It's pretty ease to see the advantages of playing on a mobile device.
Yeah I agree, I would love to play TSO on my iPad, I use a browser that enables flash but the play is terrible, a application would be brilliant, also it would extend the TSO community alot.. alot of people have iphones and other androids.
I would love to have this on my tablet or phone, as I'm so often away from home, or an accessible computer.
I think asking for an application for the complete game is a lot to ask. Flash runs on a variety of devices, but is a different game when running on a phone or tablet compared to computer. For a start you have to take in different flash player versions based upon different cpu architectures , let alone having to make it compatible to run on so many different platforms.
Without some kind of improvement altogether on how flash runs on each device, I can't see this happening. I think even Adobe have ceased development of flash for android alone, leaving it up to the browser to bundle its own version within. Not good news for compatibility.
I do however think something such as world of warcrafts app could be implemented. A small app with access to Trade Office, Guild Chat, Perhaps even Explorers or Geologists. Would be nice to have a list of buildings with the ability to buff them, but thats dreaming really.
I was just about to buy an android tab, glad I read this first, it loads on my samsung galaxy s3 but crashes before I can do anything, thought a tab would be better, I guess not
Also need a tape-loading app for my C-64 to run it too.
If you don't have anything relevant to say then say nothing
The whole thread is irrelevant.
It's a browser game, you play it in a browser.
No amount of demands for an 'app' for device x, y, or z is going to change that. The browser is your 'app'.
dont think they will be able to keep up with thousands of ppl registering in a short space of time and multi accounting to the hills lol
Ok I understand as its a flash game it would be a nightmare to redesign it on mobile download but how about they rerelease an earlier version of the game to download like settlers 2 for example. I'm sure people would pay to have a classic game on there modern device. Then when you have the luxury of being at a pc you can play the flash new game. :)
What's GOG?
I have to say I'd much rather the game developers were working on getting the bugs out of the browser version, that spending their time working on a new game client that panders to the desires of a new, much smaller demographic than the one they currently work hard to please.
Maybe when all the bugs are gone, and the game is out of Beta, they could work on it, but until then, my answer to this poll is a resounding No!
And yes, I do have an Android phone, and I would love to play Settlers on it, but it's simply not an efficient use of the developers time...
You're asking the wrong people. It's not BlueBytes responsibility to cater for every handheld device out there, it's the device manufacturers responsibility to make their device compatible for the market.
Settlers runs under Flash on any compatible browser. If your handheld device doesn't handle flash or a browser, then find one that does.
You wouldn't expect a ZX Spectrum to play World of Warcraft, so why buy a handheld device that doesn't fulfill your requirements.
My device does run flash and a browser, but this game won't run on it, maybe a low res version would work? I've seen other browser games that have the option of low res for less powerful devices, and if BB want to increase the amount of people playing its in their interest to make it compatible for as many mobile devices as they can, I'm not talking about a new app, just something to help.
Your argument about an obsolete computer is not valid, people are asking for a solution on new devices such as tablets, not something that belongs in a museum.
I see you missed the last important part, so I'll repeat it here
so why buy a handheld device that doesn't fulfill your requirements?
Precisely, I bought a cheap no-name tablet, and it runs fine on that.
And Steve, your argument is invalid, the C-64 is still the best-selling home computer ever, so by your previous arguments, BB should support it!
Stop talking rubbish!
