Using the new Defensive General (Master of defense)

Current usage for blocking generals

Actually slow generals are used usually (in few guides I have seen veteran general in some blocks). When using slow generals the main target to make a good blocking is to use the general in a simulation where you win the 100% of times. Why? because the destruction of the camp give you 1 extra turn... if the blocking time is 5-8 (7.33), it will act as 6-9 (8.33).

What is happening with the new general?

Blocking with new general (Master of defense) is different.. why?

You need to use another aproach for combats with him. The main feature of this general is a very high life, and a small hit. In combats, general is the last unit killed. With this in mind, to raise the number of rounds to the max we will need to destroy the max number of troops, but we will search combats where we lose the 100% of the times. Defensive general will need a lot of rounds to be killed (few enemy troops = small damage).

Lets see a fast example in horse back.

In first campament A1 (70 nomads and 40 lance riders) we would have with normal general and 48E

4-10(5.66), with 99.00 win %.. that means 5-11 (6.66) rounds.

With the new general, assigning 42E, we get 11-23 (17.55) rounds

Just by setting 1E more .. 43E, it just drops to 6-22 (17.03) rounds, still a nice average but the min rounds dropped to just 6 (dangerous). This is because we win at least one of combats in simulations (my sim does 10k simulations).

The important thing to remember is that we get the extra rounds where the general is alone against a small number of enemies.

VERY IMPORTANT: The new general is a fast general, this means that rounds last for 10 seconds instead of 20, keep this in mind.. because we will need at least 2x times the number of rounds for a longer blocking attack.

he's a lootspot gen at best atm, and even then beware the enemy

on top landing on RB 1R will kill lanceriders

yet against militia on BK hes useless with 1R

he is not a blocker, not a ls general !
with 50dmg he might not even kill one unit! (instead of a fix 120!)

He is almost worthless.

I dont know if trully devoted players will come up with a special block, that cannot be done now, and will be possible with him... but i highly doubt it

I have already figured out how to use him for my final blocks on both BN and BK, which allows me to send slow gens home earlier.
I am sure I shall find more uses for him in time.... so he's pretty far from worthless to me.

+1 also works on a number of other blocks, decent general for me. Only problem I have is options are limited with just one of them, and a second is 5k+ gems on test atm

Another possible use for this general is to make 1R blocks longer than 1 round... that would allow in certain guides to skip a camp where we cant actually

In reality, he can only be used on rather weak camps.
Against camps with stronger units, or larger amounts of units, he doesn't provide any advantage as a blocker at all.

I've added him as an option for the blocks in DP, the first block in IotP and the first block in WotS (which rarely onyone needs).

I disagree, noone is forcing you to buy the Master of Def general. This general is great for people who like variety and do adventures with their own guides or at least guides optimized by themselves. So buy at your own risk, you can do stuf without him so if you feel that the general is rubbish don't buy it.

Being greedy is introducing a general with 300 units, making it cost 10k eggs and you can only farm 5k with event. Making a must buy 5k eggs with gem/$ idea which clearly they are not doing.

Odd and useless gen. So with 25-50dmg it's not even good replacement for bhg? Doh!

5000hp seems much to anyone used to kill 11000hp Chuck in bn? Meh!

It looks like the general is a left over from some scraped scheme for pve right now. However we still yet about to see skill trees for combat and economy of island, so getting one MoD "just in case" for lv50 player seems ok. Maybe with 10 manuals, 10 tomes and 11 codexes this MoD will get dmg around 120 like bhg and become useful at least at taking lootspots... So right now it is just an expensive and unique decoration for the island? Oh well.

@inyi was just pointing out that general might be of interest to people that wish to try out new/different stuff.

@lashy, read my comment again plz. I was just trying to point out that rip-off would require for players to must get this general which isn't the case now, or is it? ;).
