[Feedback] New Event Resources

A [Feedback] thread specific to this post: [Dev Blog] New Event resources seems long overdue.

When the Blog was released and again now posts are directed to [Feedback] Easter Event 2015 which is a bit confusing and not terribly intuitive and it's fairly clear some parts of that thread were never read all that carefully. The earlier posts addressing "New Event Resources" were largely lost in the Easter shuffle and now, the conversation has little if anything to do with Easter 2015.

Clarity and tidiness (and consistency) are still worthwhile goals, they often make things a bit easier all round.

I guess the most popular question on most peoples lips:

Will those who have, for example 3 MMA's, be able to get a 4th?

And indeed, if we have already got the max buildings etc from previous events, are we to be excluded from this summer event because of this?

+1 Spot on. I'm at the edge of me chair waiting in excitement for a reply from BB.

What will also happen with the old pumpkin fields (some still have them) can we still use the old easter/xmas adventures and what will be the rewards.

if you are a gambler you could keep the pumpkin fields and hope that they will be converted to produce new pumpkins at next Halloween event..

Does anyone know the starting date for this mid-summer event? june, july, august?? :D

Midsummer is usually celebrated around June 21 so I would assume it starts before that

what will happen with balloons ppl still have ???

accordin to test they cant be converted

Event window says those will be auto converted to coins when event ends. Would not make any sense to allow conversion to tokens since they had no value and you could create thousands per day.

IN sweden midsummer's eve will be celebrated friday 19th of june this year so I hope the even starts at least 1 week ahead of that (12th of june).

Am I the only one concerned that this will be a trade-only event?
It seems that it would have been nice if there were other ways to get tokens (explorers, adventures, etc).
Otherwise what you did is reward the already rich that hoarded a lot of old event resources, to go on and fill on additional buildings/resources (the obscene trades going on right now for old event resource prove it).

I have the same concerns. So in its present format it solves nothing really the rich get richer. A missed opportunity I think and very strange to have an event just really for the rich and long term players.

If you look on test, there is another way to get these tokens; buy them for gems :)

If many who have these old event resources have already got the maximum amount of items from the merchant, then its pretty useless for those people as well. (unless we learn otherwise about the limits).

But tbh, BB didnt have to re-open the stores for this; they could have just said nope, we are going to give everyone a silly gcs exchange rate and be done with it.

For most people it will be a non-event. Nothing to do, and prices far too high to bother trading to get anything.

I am against fourth MMA on this way.
1. Chance was given to everybody to get a first MMA 2 years ago, then to buy another for gems and third one during last Easter event. Doesn't matter how many eggs player has collected.
2. Players who were active in guild helping other low lvl players to get items from the shop during any other event gave away thousands of eggs, presents, footballs... They are out of the run for MMA number 4.
Just to mention one more time, no matter how many eggs player collects, buy, trade... it was always 3 MMA in last 2 years.
Why to make a difference?

I understand some of you wish there was another way to get tokens and cool items, but the event's goal is to rebalance the economy in a way that is satisfactory to the players who have been saving different event resources during the last years.

Well, then the item limits shouldn't be from last events, but be raised/reset/renewed..

But are you rebalancing here? The rich players who have saved huge amount event resources from previous events already have all the "cool items", otherwise they would have used the leftover event resources to get more cool items.
Also, even if there was another way to gaining the tokens to newer players, the rich players would still have a huge advantage.

Now, I understand that this is a way to compensate these players, and by allowing the resource conversions, you are already doing this. The only thing that you will be "robbing" them is the opportunity to get obscene amount of resources through trade (assuming they already had what they wanted from previous events), thus making the rich - richer.

This is your decision to make. but I have to say it's a little disappointing.

And what of those people who paid resources for those leftover event items then? Are they to be penalised instead? BB have struck the balance the only real way they could, and thats by giving the people with the event items a chance to sell them on and recoup, and by giving those who didnt get all the items they wanted the chance to get them by buying the sellers items. BB do NOT dictate the trade office prices and therefore what they have done here is the only fair way to remove event resources.

I personally don't mind whether I can buy yet another set of cool stuff or not - I can spend half of my tokens to get more grout and the other half on guildmates in need - BUT if BB would like to gain as much as possible out of this, they shouldn't keep the limits from last events.. Reset the limits, and gems would be bought and spent a lot.

Also, I don't follow the argument how a 4th MoMA would do further damage to the economy. The only thing that a 4th MoMA could do (compared to the other 3) is to save a little time. It's not like you can do yet another adventure and gain more loot for free - troops need to be trained.
The value of resources doesn't matter that much. What really damage the economy is a shrinking market because of a decreasing player base.

Personally just calling it an Event and then finding its really 3 shops that you need a special currency (perhaps bought with gems) in order to buy anything is creating disinterest, disappointment and a feeling of some large section of players being completely ignored.

When i first saw the word 'Event' I realised immediately the main purpose and that is indeed very fair and nice of BB rather than just converting all old items for a gold coin. BUT 'event' also brings to mind a contest something for all. I was not expecting anything really huge maybe a quest chain and co-op adventures dropping tokens.

BB make it quite clear what the purpose of the midsummer shop was, it's there in black and white in the first announcement about it. Most of this thread is down to players failing to comprehend what was wrote.

I comprehend very well thank you. I just thought it would be nicer, if it was a real event and not just a trade-week.
Of course BB are the developers and owners of the game and they have every right of not doing this as an event. They could have not done anything at all, and it would have been a legitimate decision as well. Just stating that some players get the shorter end of the stick due to this decision.

Have to agree with this if players had a 4th MMA it might reduce your barracks queue slightly on a FT and could possibly knock 5 minutes off a regular adventure but not much else. certain parts of the economy were ruined with poorly thought out changes like the amount of settlers in loot killing bread for instance.

I was rather hoping there would be some sort of event or crisis quest in the summer, game is stale at the moment not many friends or guild mates logging in for long these days.

I wonder if BB would consider adding random amounts of event resources to the adventure loots during the event by way of compromise?

This would allow lower level players a chance to collect them and maybe buy a building here and there. If not, they could make gcs by selling theirs on the trade office.

At least this would mean nobody would be excluded from the event if they didn't want to be.

Nice idea but I fear it's now too late for this to be tested before the shop goes live.

Where is the rebalancing? Rich will get richer while new player will just sit this one out and look.
Where is the balance in old player with million of coin stashed? How anyone can compete with that?
If any of them would had been using those coin to help the new players get a reward in that event I could had said...there is gonna be a balance but we all know this is not gonna be the case for most of them (there is a reason after all if those players got so much gold coin stash).
