Experimenting, trying to solve it
Clicked the colapsed mine (with depo) and demo'd the mine, deposit stayed, but still doesnt allow me to build on top of it...
Possible solution, demo all colapsed mines before sending out your geo, this way it cant find a depo on a colapsed mine..... (havent tried this one yet)
Refreshed after demolishing the colapsed mine, made it possible to build the mine....
Some wierd stuff happening with deposits too...
Had something similar. Had collapsed copper mines, which I refound with geo no problem. Built my copper mines on top, but the deposit symbol stayed:

Also had the problem with marble, showing an empty depo on top of a colapsed pit.
I demolished the pit first so only the empty depo was left, then send out my geo to refind it.
Vilius, try to demo the pit, then refresh....

Thank you for your reports! They have been passed on and the issue has been inserted into our database.
Later edit: Once the mine has been demolished and you refreshed the game, the issue should not happen again for the same deposit. Please let me know if this is the case or if the same deposit continues to exhibit the same issue.
Played with this some. It appears it can be worked around in the short term.
1) Ore location discovered with existing mine depleted/collapsed. Was able to destroy the collapsed mine and build a new one.
2) Ore location discovered with no existing mine, but location would not mouse-over and couldn't build. Went to friends island, came back, and was able to build.
3) Marble location was showing depleted, but marble was there and settler was working it - deleted depleted anyway just for looks. Nothing changed, site still being worked.
4) Floating 'eye' on ore locations after the mine had been built. Visiting a friend and returning clears this up. So does leveling up it appears. (corrected - leveling up does not remove "the eye")
Are there other issues? So far I can deal with these for now...
Iron and marble deposits in particular.
When a new deposit is found the graphic still shows a depleted mine. Only by hovering over the deposit can you tell if it has any resource in it.
A built mine still shows as a depleted mine. Refresh fixes these problems except on the top middle marble mine (for me). Again the old bug of geos reporting having not found a deposit because you already have the maximum number of this deposit type, is happening when there is still a deposit to be found (no, not the extra deposits that require a geo skill to find) and again it takes a refresh for the game to show that the geo actually did find that deposit.
Can we do something about this please as it really is making it hard work to do my daily deposit rebuild. Thank you.
I've seen that too - came with the latest update. The quarry can still be used. You can destroy the old site to get rid of the image and message if it bugs you.
This is the second new problem I've encountered since the game update last Monday. If my jolly geologist manages to find 2 iron mines with the "Two iron in one" skill, or 2 marbles with the "Two marble in one," one of the mines shows up correctly while the other displays an exhausted mine icon with the marble symbol and the # superimposed over it. It works fine, it's just the wrong graphic.
I'm just wondering if it is depleted or if there is an amount of marble left? ;-) Maybe next maintenance will fix that and give us another confusing feature.
Ravel, this still happens on deposits/mines that have been demolished and then a refresh performed.
I have sent Geos found copper mines but will not let me build on them when click copper mine to place gets nothing tried refresh got to a friends base reloaded game tried all i know
Marble deposits that has been found with "Two Marble in One" -skill are still (after 29.7. maintenance) showing exhausted deposit graphics and text.
Had Jolly find 2 iron mines today at same time . Could build one mine but not the other had to log out then back in then was allowed to build other iron mine
Thank you for the reports! It was thanks to your comments we were able to figure out the issue is now happening when the "Two Marble in One" and "Two Iron in One" skills are activated. Now it is only present on the 2nd deposit found by a geologist using the skills above.
I've seen the same problem with the two-in-one skill on iron mines. On two occasions the 2nd mine shows up but nothing shows on mouse-over and you can't build on it until refreshing or leaving the island and returning.
I am still unable to build a mine when I find a new deposit without refreshing first!
This should be fixed soon (so I've heard). If it helps, going to a friends island then coming back seems to take care of it too (and it's faster than a full refresh). Hope that helps.
If you have an iron mine is found as a second mine with an explorer with "2 in 1" skill, it still shows as exhausted. Sometimes doing a refresh or visiting a friends island will fix it, but sometimes it will then show as exhausted but has resource. Anyone else seeing this?

Quite a few, yes. I also had my first three jollies yesterday find iron but the onscreen message and news reports said they hadn't as `I had too many deposits in the claimed sectors' ( All bar one was depleted ) However this seemed to be a one off as all the rest of their searches came back with both the deposits and the correct message.

This issue is still continuing even after recent maintenance. Can we have something done about it please.
Maintenance is not the same as deployment. Bugs are fixed during deployments and deployments do happen during the maintenance time slot, but please don't expect deployments every maintenance.
Best way to figure out if a maintenance will be used to deploy a new version is to check the maintenance post. A link to the corresponding Change Log will be linked at the bottom of the post if we are getting a new version and you can read all about the bug fixes 1 week in advance.
That being said, this will be fixed with the next game version. Change Log will become available soon.
this is serius and happen to me also. must send 2 times the geologist for tha fake ironmine and marble deposit
I haven't seen any problems with this since the last update.
Had bugged marble mines a couple days ago again...
I had this bug with a coal deposit found with "2in1" skill. The deposit text said [3000 coal in group:26] and no skill popup. After refresh the mine could be built on it and the skill popup showed "Tendentious geologist" and "Two Coal in One" skills.
Not sure its connected but I had a mouse over glitch yesterday, I moused over one marble deposit freshly found and the deposit quantity appeared on the neighbouring deposit...gave me a chuckle.
This problem seems to be back.
