Conscientious Geologist

My Conscientious Geologist has upgraded following upgrades: Natural Copper Vein 3/3 and Quality Copper Mineshafts 3/3
but one of the veins gets normal production time,
seems like there's a bug with the 2n vein (presumably) since the first works like it should,
both gets the Natural Copper Vein but only one got the Quality Copper Mineshafts EVEN if the tooltip says both have it production time on one of them is as a normal geologist or as if Quality Copper Mineshafts isn't there,
if i understand the Conscientious Geologist's ability correctly it finds an extra deposit if possible with the same "upgs" as the first.
(should there be two equal deposits found or is it rolled sepetrely?)

Deposit runs as expected (takes 3ore and produces 6 with gift basket) BUT the bugged one runs @ normal speed instead of fast as the rest of the mines, if it shows up again i'll make a new post (with more information if possible).

just send the new Geo 3 times for the extra marble deposit but 3 times he couldn´t find it. is it a joke?
and he is very slow!

Please note where it says (wherever possible). He will not find the extra deposit every time.

if he finds an additional deposit on every search it means he has to find it if its possible and in my case - it is possble

Fast mine is not fast.....

Yes, I have had this problem today. Was surprised to find 1 copper deposit still at half from lunch time. It was discovered by new geo, so I guess that geo will not be used. He is too slow as a 5 min geo for copper anyway.

I'm confused - are we talking about mines found by a geologist (not the new one) that has the skill to find faster mines, the new geologist without any skills added, or the new geologist with the skill that should allow faster mines?

It happens with coal and gold deposits too. Fast mines are not working on the 2nd mine found. It happens always the same.

If you are talking about the "2 in 1" skill, it's documented (and even shown as text in the skill) that additional bonuses for the mine do not apply to the 2nd mine found. This is consistent across all geologists as far as I understand it.

Not really, all the other bonuses work, its just that the extra speed its the only not working...and its a bug because sometimes its says you have it and other times it dont says that, but speed its the same in both scenarios.

Xibor, the whole point though is that the dialogue boxes on the mine say it is a fast deposit. If the geo that finds two deposits does not find two identical deposits, then what exactly is the point of the geologist?

A compete waste of pumpkins for a really ill-conceived specialist by the looks.

When initially built fast mines can look like normal mines until they have completed the first cycle.

The biggest advantage to me is that I can find the mines faster. Very important when I'm getting things going before going to work.

Ok then - so what exactly is the question/issue? I've lost track

its that the 2nd mine found it is not fast even if it says so. The others atributes are fine, those 2nd mines are bigger, but not the fast one.

Ah - I see then. That indeed sounds like a bug. To be honest I haven't paid that much attention to that detail - as long as I have all of them running I'm not that fussed with the details of the attributes. They are going to collapse sooner or later anyway.

New geologist has the ability to find one more resource of the same type. Does this new resource benefit from all other abilities that geologist may have, or is it exactly like "two marble/iron/coal in one", where the second deposit does not benefit from other abilities?

If the ability does not go along with other abilities do devs recognize this as a problem that will be solved in the future? Most concerned about copper deposits, because I need them fast and big.

Same problem here with the gold depos. Text clearly marks the mine as a fast, but the cycle is 12 minutes, not 6.

Unlike the "Improved farm" issue, which actually helped players and made the farm useful, this one will probably never be fixed.

Me and my guild mates are wondering exactly the same: do the skills of finding "second deposit" result for this geo in finding more than two? Or will it ALWAYS be just two?

About those fast deposits. Issue really are those "tooltips" that appear unlike other geodudes.

Other geodudes will not show that tooltip on failed searches.

So for some reason Conscientious Geologist shows that tooltip midway and others do not. Every geodude shows success at top of the list.

I just found three marble deposits with one search using the "Two Marble in One" skill on my Conscientious Geologist.

Agree - it is "possible" to find an 11th marble deposit because a skilled geo can find it.
So this geo should find it if it hasn't already been found.

The precedent was set with the Lucky Explorer, who effectively has the "find a nice buff" skill built in. It's natural to think the new geologist has the "Lucky Find" skill built in - especially when reading his description. If "Lucky find" can find one more than the maximum (which in itself is impossible since a maximum is a hard limit), then the new geo should find one more "when possible".

Considering BB are happy to change specification after a new feature goes live and is in use (for instance changing a level 5 improved farm to use 5 wheat deposits per cycle when it was originally 1 per cycle no matter what the level) then I'm sure they'll receive no complaints if they change the new geo. Well, ok, they'll receive complaints, someone always complains about a change, but it still needs to be changed.

If it helps, I can confirm that my ConGeo found an extra deposit which enabled me to complete the "Lay of the Land" achievement.
None of my geos have the Lucky Find skill.

Are you sure you didn't find the first iron deposit on the new islands along with the rest of the old deposits. This gave me the "Lay of the Land"

I got that achievement as soon as I purchased the first gem Island, none of my geo have lucky find and i used jolly geo

Very sure. The two archipelago iron mines I can access were already up and running.
I can't remember what I was searching for (though I have a faint memory that it was stone??)...
Remind me, which deposits have the possibility of an extra (on the main island)?

lol dud(ett)e, then you can find 1 over the requirement of the achievement without finding any extra on the main island.

We now have to ask the question is the achievement working as intended or have BB fallen back into their old ways ?

Finally recieved a reply to this problem after 2 weeks and missed mail, re-submitted a ticket because the reply was beyond belief. When I send a ticket in I half expect someone to actually investigate the problem and maybe put in motion steps to fix it.

Definition of this geologist is wrong. I have another geologist with ability to find extra iron, marble, stone. So I have more "wherever possible" deposits. Also there is one marble, one stone and one iron deposit which can be found, but it doesn't count in his profile. His description is miss-leading players (like me).

Hello everybody,

First of all, let me explain the basics to understand this post:

• Conscientious Geologist: This is the geologist that was available during Halloween.
• Conscientious: is a passive ability from Conscientious Geologist that will find an additional deposit on every search whenever is possible.
• Quality Mineshafts: there are 3 Mineshafts that you can get in talent tree (Copper, Coal and Gold). Each point give you 15% to get a mine that can be mined faster (which means 50% of original production time).

The problem here is the combination of Quality Mineshafts and Conscientious, for all arguments let’s consider having 3/3 in Mineshafts (which gives a 45% chance to get it):

1 – Searching for a Mine with Mineshaft and Conscientious:
A normal search, without Conscientious, would do: Search roll a percentile dice, which means rolling from 1 to 100 and if you get between 1 and 45 the mine will be Mineshaft, 46 to 100 not mineshaft.
However, with conscientious you will either get 2 mines with Mineshaft or 2 mines without, you can’t get 1 with mineshaft and other without it… which means that theoretically there are 45% to get mineshaft on BOTH mines (mathematically the chance to get both should be much less).
Probably it shouldn't be working like this...

2 – Mineshaft Bug:
When you find two mines with Mineshaft, only one gets the bonus production but both shows the icon saying it reduced, see pics below:

Coal Normal Production Time: 00:01:30
Coal Mineshaft Production Time: 00:00:45
Copper Normal Production Time: 00:03:00
Copper Mineshaft Production Time: 00:01:30

The skill quality copper mineshafts of conscientious geollgist it doesnot work on the other deposit.

I believe that since this geologist was introduced (or perhaps when it was 'fixed') that the skills to find 2 in 1 are no longer working for other Geos (Jolly and tavern bought).

Before we got the new Geo, I used to regularly wake up to my marble deposits being empty (all 10) and would send out my 4 skilled Geo's to find Marble. Usually in 2 searches, they would find the 10 deposits (4x2)+2 bonus due to the skills. For the last while, I have noticed that when I send 2 sets of 4 Geo's out to find marble, they regularly find 8 deposits leaving me to believe that the 2 in 1 skill is no longer working. (I realize there is a % change that I have just been unlucky and that there is a chance that I just haven't found the extra deposit, but the more times this happens the less likely it seems to me that it is just random chance).

No problems with the 2 in 1 skill here when looking for Marble.
