A Second Elite Barracks please.

The speed of the Elite Barracks really is an issue - I'd +1 a second (but highly doubt we will get it) or as mentioned in several posts a 24 hour x 3 or 4 buff for both normal and Elite Barracks.
The expansion was designed to keep you playing for between 2 and about a 1000 years don't hold your breath on getting another barracks.
Show me a convincing argument that your islands infrastructure can support a 2nd Elite Barracks.

I use 2 skunks a day and make just mounted swords and knight with a few swords, this gives me 1200 elite troop a day. My plat chains, weapon and elite horse all run a surplus. I dont see a need for a second elite barracks as i cant find the ywc fast enough to support a second elite barracks even though my islands infrastructure can.
I have to admit, having just built one, I did do a second take at the quest when it said `have at least one elite barracks on your island'. The inference being that building more was a distinct possibility, but then I remembered quest wordings were never what they seemed ;)
-1 the game is meant to be a nice slow plod along, not a race to be first.
my island can easily support a second barracks. Did you make a mess of yours?
And if you want slow, don't build the second barracks :)

Shouldnt be a problem for anyone who bothered to swap some farms/ watermills to the new ones.
The only point where it really becomes an issue is if you want to run 2x elite barracks on x3 buffs at all time and want to use regular lvl6 barracks on buffs too - thats where the bread production for population would start consuming too much water and wheat.
Personally producing population to make troops in the Elite barracks involves 0 bread, 1K+ pop a day from mayors and schools unbuffed makes bread production a non issue here. Those using breadmen are long used to producing the troops to run fairy tales are also not going to have a bread issue either. Obviously with the current drop rate of horses from adventures with the exception of quests calling for horse production our stables are asleep.
The first issue is obtaining the adventures in the first place, there is no point in producing twice as many troops than you can commit to a adventure. However the big issue is having the weapons production capacity, do you have the licences and free space to build all the weapon chain buildings a 2nd Elite barracks would call for.
Having thought about this a little more I would prefer an Improved Elite barracks and a Improved Barracks available through Gems and possibly incorporated free in some later event say Easter next year, giving people the option to buy now and the prospect of those who want it free to get it. This would give those who desire more troops the ability to get them, would alleviate the need for buffs if your more casual and generate some short term income for BB.
For those who keep going on about this should be a slow game, it's as slow as you make it, you have the mechanics to slow it down those who want to speed it up any further than is already possible cannot. They can however still get tons of xp from mini quest drops from ls, some might feel they want to achieve 75 just from their own efforts and improving their troop production would be key to that.
is there any plans for a second E/barracks Or allow normal Barracks to produce elite troops
other suggestion is allow ALL barracks to produce PvP/normal/elite troops
Brilliant idea! Every barracks producing ALL troop type would give so much more capacity and flexibility!!
Also save that rusting junk bucket of an acadamy becoming an eyesore.
How about an epic workyard to combine all 3 troop types in 1 building? 3 production queues in 1 extra building similar to ewy and efy..
Bit of space issue with epic workyards but might be worthwhile..
Been proposed already on some of the other language versions.
Generally a good idea allowing for flexible unit production. The thing I dont like about it though is that production times in epic workyards are usually set arbitrarily by BB and not always make sense (while second E Barracks simply doubles your production). That and the fact that workyard buff is x2 while we already have x3 and x4 barrack buffs (although one can argue that soup is way more accessible).
Could perhaps be linked to the idea about jack & the beanstalk adventure chain that has been proposed... to unlock production in epic barracks similar to the other epics.
I want 5 elite barracks and 5 bookbinders. Maybe at least 3 rarity provision houses would be nice too.
:)
yep Xibor there has to be a line of course. Since i made the first post many things have changed.
With COA gens saving troops, and i guess gen skills saving some more, combined with recruit guide buffs . Maybe not needed so much. Certainly i find i can easily run 2 x woodcutters / day without running out of troops. As long as i keep skunks running most of the time.
I have seen suggestions for buffs, rather than a whole new building. Might be a better idea in particular if its using stuff you have plenty of at lvl 70 + . Such as granite, grout, beans, exo wood, plat ore (7 mill in star and counting)
Just to echo off what Xibor said - while I think it's important to be realistic when it comes suggestion and feature requests, it's OK to just lay it all down on the table. The devs do read this forum, and sometimes all it takes is a little bit of inspiration to get something started.
Woodcutters are not a good measure simply because they are one of (along with CR) the most optimized and abused adventures in game. Another thing is that doing 1-2 of them a day is nothing spectacular if you consider the exp requirements for higher levels, and doing any of their alternatives actually makes you reach the bottleneck that is barrack production much easier.
Other things to consider that people generally tend to ignore :
- more production means less reliance on barracks buffs that are becoming expensive and/ or hard to get if people quit because of boredom (because noone can really get plenty of those by themselves without relying on trade)
- more production means making better use of elite buildings and resources (which is currently completely imbalanced - because of the design choice of units needing only 1 weapon instead of 10 you can fit the entire production on a single screen, no reason to build more infrastructure)
- decreasing the value of a single unit (that is now inflated by the production time) means more incentive to do high loss adventures - everyone would be much more eager doing more adventures if the time they need to be idle waiting for units to produce was a day instead of three
- realistically, something has to be done about the levelling process if BB wants to add more content for higher levels and production increase is the simplest and least invasive way to address it
Not really struggling with barracks queue anymore since the introduction of recruitment guides but do at some point see a problem obtaining skunks for a large proportion of the community. The problem could be tackled in numerous ways and most have been suggested somewhere on the forums.
A few different ways to approach this could be any of the following.
1. Increase collectibles on home island, say from around 20 to around 30.
2. put drill sergeant skunk / training overtime into the loot table of either adventures or artefact search.
3. add an altogether new buff recipe into Christmas event, maybe sell it beforehand like the grilled steak recipe.
4. add a new combined barracks to a new quest chain with upgrade recipes as suggested in the beanstalk thread.
5. make all existing barracks multi-purpose
6. put collectible bundles in gem shop
7. put working overtime in gem shop
I really feel like both Elite and regular Barracks should be unique buildings, meaning that one can't own more than one of each. Simply adding another building of the same type seems a bit lame and unpolished.
I remember someone in another thread previously suggested adding a lvl 7 upgrade to Barracks as a reward for completing a (difficult) quest chain. It's one possibility to help with troop production and I think it could be looked into once again.
Other ideas that have been brought up about buffs/collectables/production sound reasonable as well.
Just a huge -1 for another identical (Elite) Barracks.

Play something else than Ali Baba's as in-between.
I seldom need to buff my barracks to keep occupied, time is most often my constraint.
-1 for another elite barracks, or making both barracks able to train all troop types. But a level 7 option is a good idea.
You should be able to train enough troops with current set up, without the need for a second elite barracks.
Current set up is enough for elite players to be in reach of lvl 75, averaging up to 2 million xp per day and multiple daily alibaba adventures. Overhaul of buffs and/or upgrade to level 7 yes, but I cant see why a second elite barracks would be needed. Just be more clever about how you play, rather than simply demand more at this stage - in my option anyway...
I would rather see more new buffs and more stuff in loot in regards of improving recruitment speed. Second barracks or shared build queues feel kinda overkill and the consequences would be that the value of multiple things gained from elite adventures loot would drop a lot. The actual resource cost of making elite troops is already basically zero compared to regular units and the time is the only effective limiting factor.
lots of thoughts on this matter. i guess if u dont want a 2nd barracks then dont build it. as for the other guys, i can;t help wondering how much time u spend daily playing settlers!
