for those of us who dislike the ship's childish and garish graphics, perhaps there's a chance that BB could release a skin we could buy that is more in-keeping with the rest of our island?
I know people will ask why should we have to buy it, but I'd happily pay say 100 gems to do so :)

I think the building style is an important part of the attraction of this game but the excelsior doesn't fit with the styling of the other buildings.
+1 Id also buy a skin in a style more suited to the other island buildings - I'd also pay to buy a skin for my ugly Easter egg house :D

As much as you guys might have a point, if BB were to make skins for stuff some don't like they would have no rest. So for better or worse just learn to live with it. There will never be something that everyone agrees on.

what about them who have made their island look the way THEY want it with decorations? Maybe it totally spoils their ideal. So at least give players the option to have a kids toy or a fitting shipQuote:

There were already so many complaints about it's design on test, they asked for our feedback, (which was, for the most part, tone it down) and yet this was ignored. You can also go visit other forums like the German one to see how similar our feedback has been, but yet again, ignored...
The ship is really a slot machine - has it been made bright, toy-like and bouncing like a castle for the pegi-7 kids to get Mum and Dad to spend more pocket money on? Probably not, but when feedback has been ignored, it makes one wonder...
Call me cynical, but for so much feedback to have been blatantly ignored, one wonders at BB's marketing tactics. At least the skin suggestion is giving them another marketing idea..
Count me in on support of changing the design to better fit in the game. :) The whole Excelsior expansion is too good to be downgraded by this childish design. :)
Yes please, a different skin! I just hide it with the chat window so far, but if we could buy a new skin it would just jump to the top of my shopping list.

i looked at both pics posted by Iolanthe and I;ve got no idea what he/she is on about, both pics looks exactly like my ship! I went to german server to check it out but didn't understand a word.
as for bb spending all their time making skins. YES, why not, good way to get ppl to spend gems :)

This is another 'Might want to sit down.'
It looks like BB are actively considering options for the Excelsior visuals. No timeline yet, nor anything more specific than essentially 'working on it', but the word is out and someday (here's hoping Soon-ish) the Big Bouncy Purple Balloon Issue should (fingers crossed) be addressed. In some sort of way. That should make more people happy.
Hey Fanfas :) I understand the idea of adapting and often it's worthwhile or even necessary, in real life and in-game, but in the world of TSO when things shift from test to live and more people see them that's another window to make a point. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but sometimes (like in real life) you just gotta try. :D
Looks more like something from a facebook game, maybe there is a connection there as to why BB is pushing it's Fb page down our throats.
Why the animation?, the game already suffers from serious lag most of the time and takes longer to load than most Commodore 64 games did 30+ years ago.
The colour scheme would be more suited to a jar of jelly beans.

The exelsior is very ugly indeed.
Yes, thank you Devs, and not forgetting to change it on ventures shows a much more rounded approach to these updates, nice job :)
once you change it, your stuck with it for 2 weeks.... too bad if its still ugly. there should be an "undo" option..... please
i cant see any real difference, sry bb but what is the point of a skin that's so insanely similar to the pile of vomit inspired original?
which is old and which is new ? - I cant see much difference. If I wanted it changed then why would I do it for 2 weeks only.
It is ugly as it is now and with buff. I want it to be changed into something in style and colour with rest of map.
