Since we can now get 50 gems very easily from Excelsior quests, how about doing away with the 7 day gem bonus and giving us a larger amount of crystals?
All in all I'm loving excelsior and now I'm slightly disappointed on gem day! Who'd have thought?!

I'd be happy with say 10 crystals on the 7th day :D
Also the ali adventures don't have collectibles, perhaps they could include crystals there too?

You can always use the gems in the Excelsior so no change needed.

3 spins on the slot machine for 87 gems won't get much, but 15 crystals would probably get you 2 mini quests with a bunch of xp, some refillers, cool zone buffs and gems anyway...

Not everyone can afford to buy a significant amount of gems. I would rather have the gems.
Crystals can only be used in the Excelsior Forge, whereas Gems can be used both in the forge (albeit not as efficiently), and elsewhere in the game. Having the end reward remain gems allows players to fund other activities outside of Excelsior, which is still an important part of the game. We like this balance as opposed to having one or the other.
The day BB gets rid of the 100 gems for these awful crystals will be my last day. I just wish I could sink this Excelsior and leave it at the bottom of the sea.
I think the option to have either gems or crystals on day 7 sounds cool, but I do appreciate most save their gems for buying vital items like generals etc. Maybe give that as a choice at some point?
As for Excelsior itself, I'm absolutely loving it and all the various options we have and quests to be done. This is so much more preferable as a daily log in and quest to the usual silly amount of copper ore and 2 xbows a week :D
29 gems is 1 crystal so the 100 gems would be changed to 3 (or 4 if we are really lucky) crystals.Quote:

This suggestion is by far the worst I've ever seen on TSO. Please keep gems on the 7th day. :) If OP wants to be creative, please come up with better ideas then removing a gift so vital for so many. The game is not only for havy gem buyers or for those who played from the start and have used all gem pits.
Appart from that, yes, Excelsior is absolutely lovely and crystals instead of previous daily login rewards highly appreciated.
I really don't get the hostility - it's a no from BB anyway so it's moot, but the point was there's gems to be had from excelsior and if the 100 gems was replaced with a 15 crstal reward, you'd probably get 2 mini quests. The odds of getting 100 gems from a couple of easy excelsior quests along with the associated loot and xp seemed better to me than just 100 gems straight. Nevermind. It won't happen.
And the point from the critics is that it's not as easy as you presume. The easy stuff is easy only for established players. You are also forcing ppl to buy into a random mechanic with uncertain results. Basically you are asking to get what you feel benefits you at this time to the detriment of others. Maybe they could add to the shop for star coin, say 25 crystal 1000 star coin and make it limited to one a week like the gems and prem.

Why? Because I do not spend crystals on those things that give 50 gems yet. I spent them on the evil queen which doesn't give gems. So 100 gems every 7 days..? yes please. :D
another alternative would be to give crystals as reward in those adv we get via excelsior only

Got loads of gems myself but a NO from me as the new players use those weekly gems to save up for 1st fast general etc.
this thread seems pointless, if u;d rather have the crystals on day 7 then use the 100 gems in the forge instead and u end up with a few gems left over anyway!
This would only make sense if it were ~75 crystals or more instead of 100 gems, in which case you should theoretically have good odds at getting at least 100 gems back from 2 completed small letters. But due to the gem imbalance in letters, it would be badly skewed for medium/long letters.
Definitely a big NO from me. I echo what mentioned by vigabrand.
