Please use this thread to relay back your feedback specifically about the new Health Bar that was implemented in the latest update.
"A new health bar for enemy camps showing the health points of the camps. The health bar and the enemy units will only appear on mouseover and selection of the camp and will not be shown while selecting the camp as the attack target. The "Battle" and "Demolition" Archive entries have been adjusted accordingly."
I hate the new health bar for enemy camps
- It is stupid
- It is useless
- It serves no purpose
- It is distracting
- It is in the way
- Make it stop
In short I hate it. Remove it or give us an option to turn it off and give us the old rainbow back. Showing how long time is left for a camp to fall is MUCH more important than the camps hp.
oh great, now nothing pops up when you mouse over a camp to attack so you can't see whether you're over the right camp or not either
Just revert todays entire change already.
Yes, silly me, when I read health points I assumed (oops) it was a typo and meant hit points and the fact that they all showed 250 on test was a bug .....
Does the 250 and counting down number represent anything different that the old coloured bar, with each segment of the old bar being equal to about 25 points on the counter.
I guess you could say its digital rather than analog so we are moving forward .........
PS it does flash green and show you the enemies just after you launch the attack, but maybe that's just a distraction as you move the cursor away to send the next attack
I agree what good does the 250 green bar do-- it stays 250 after the camp has been hit--Stupid, why not fix the chat windows , instead of putting extra graphics on
One difference from old bar is that new one is visible if camp will be defeated.
A blocked camp will show if outcome is win or loose ( if leader is not defeated in time ). On tight blocks where outcome depend on blocked camp being defeated or not you will be able to see if it will hold or not.
And new bar has come because players wanted to know how many HP camps had :)
And new bar shows exactly the same as old bar - just more visible, also where old bar could be difficult to see
Bar shows HP of CAMP - not of bandits in camp. Will stay at 250 ( or more for some camps ) untill all bandits are killed.
While I understand you're passionate about the game and seem to dislike this change, there is absolutely no excuse for throwing around insults or inflammatory language when attempting to give feedback. I have removed any such instances from your initial post and have moved the thread to a more appropriate sub-forum. Please note that continuing this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated - consider this a warning.
When giving feedback, you need to let us know not only that you dislike something, but the reasons why. Saying "I don't like this" is next to useless when we try and review critique; "I don't like this because X and I think you should do Y" is infinitely more useful to us.
haha bb, another belated April fools joke. I am looking forward to getting my little progress bar back when attacking camps tho.
I know u had this on test server, but i thought u were joking :(
OK, same logic could be applied to BB introducing this change. Don't say "because we can, we make this game", but give us specifics.
Why someone decided to implent it in the first place?
We've played this game for several years, and yet, we fail to see the reason behind this change, so please, enlighten us.
I don't really see the point in them, everything has 250 health? If you fail to clear a camp, it stays at 250? It doesn't seem to actually be measuring anything useful.
I really do not like that you are unable to see what is in a camp when directing a general to attack something, it now means I need to keep triple checking everything to make sure I am attacking the right target :(
This is a very good point. Seems unnecessary a change, not bringing much improvement if any, function not described properly in change log, and probably subject to lag more then previous knock down bar as it appears to be bugged. Also not seeing troops on attack is certainly not an improvement, plus large bar obstructing nearby camps makes the game more difficult. So yes, BB, bring us some enlightment why you thought we needed this tweak.
not finding the health bar too much of a pain but please bring back being able to see the troops in a camp when you attack
Just dug this up from a 2011 post by Lesson
Building Damage
Bandit camp 250
Watchtower 1000
Reinforced T. 1500
Stone tower 2000
White castle 2000
Witch tower 2000
Bone church 2000
Dark castle 2000
started a BK to check it and the DC does show 2000
I'd just like to second the main problem i have with the new bar is the lack of pop up of troops in the camp when you mouse over to attack the camp. It was always a nice way to double check and the lack of it is a real pain now. Bar itself doesn't bother me although personally i preferred the old style one.
um.. are we changing things on the fly as these posts are going on? I had just gone to Fisherman and checked out the big health bar and made a comment on it. Then I wanted to get more information before making this post. When going back to the adventure now there is no health bar at all.
But it is still the case that when you are targeting an attack you don't see the enemies in that camp and that is terrible. This can be critical information at times. Perhaps less so on spread out general camps but when it's a cluster of camps that may have different bosses it can be 'life or death' making sure you are sending the right attack to the right camp.
Xibor I saw this as well, I think that before your troops arrive you can see the health bar on any enemy camp you hover over, but after the troops arrive you only get it when you attack a certain enemy camp.
For some reason the feedback thread for this has been split here from the Change log post where there was already a lot of mostly negative feedback - I'll copy my post from there -
What ever possessed you BB to change the progress bars on camps being attacked? What perceived problem did you think you were fixing?
Please Please go back to the old progress bars... the new ones are WAY too big, obscuring adjacent camps - which it is now impossible to send an attack to because the awful new bar is in the way!!
Some players play this regularly on mobile devices or laptops with small screens - the new bars are a disaster for them and have rendered adventures on these devices next to impossible.
Please please revert back to the old bars - they were fully fit for purpose.
Surely the simple way round this is for BB to add in the option to revert to the old fashioned bar where players want that option.
l fail to see the need for the new big bar and have seen no explanation from BB as to why it changed.
Maybe someone from BB would like to explain to us all why it was introduced, instead of becoming overly defensive.
Why don't I like it? It serves no function that the old rainbow did not provide, in fact less. It is totally out of keeping with the other adventure features and it's size alone blocks off other camps where I want to be able to send multiple attacks - not blocks, because of course BB don't support blocks despite them suggesting them in the guide to PvP. This stops me being able to kill camps in rapid succession and so hinders my game play. When I play on my phone whilst taking my sons to sports coaching I am now unable to do any adventures because the bar now occupies a disproportionate amount of the screen., meaning I am now able to play less.
So come on BB, explain to us why it is the latest greatest new feature.
Agreed - thanks.
Now that I've done some attacks I have these observations. I only "globally" saw the health bar when my generals had not yet arrived/were still building. Then the health bars went away.
Selecting a camp for an attack no longer shows the enemy units which I've mentioned before but I will augment by saying there have been times that the units showing also interfered with me selecting an attack if my mouse moves over perhaps block camp A to select attack camp B - the troops from camp A get in the way but this is mitigated by moving the mouse properly so that you don't move over the intermediate camp. Therefore I still prefer to see the enemy units.
A failed (first wave) attack does not show the health bar.
An attack that is succeeding does start showing the health bar. I see no great advantage or disadvantage in this but I haven't been in the situation yet where I don't want to send an attack until the previous attack is actually winning the fight (therefore showing the bar now) and the bar possibly being in the way of something.
Overall I see no gain in the change, many have found a loss, if the troops present in the camp when targeting the camp was put back I could live with it all but I'm still left with the question of "why was it done at all?"
If they return troops on attack back and leave the bar the problem with hindering nearby camps will be even greater. Maybe that's why they removed it.
I can live with the new version, just don't see much reason why they ever bothered. As if they didn't have more important things to add.
Probably they had it on their ideas portfolio from fifty years ago and it came it's turn so they did it. Who can understand the mind of a game developer? :)
Maybe I'm seeing something different but I don't see the health bar when targeting/selecting a camp. Therefore it would only be a time where I wanted to target a nearby camp only when the other camp is actually starting to be torn down and honestly I can't remember a situation where that happens.
Regardless, I'm in agreement with the general tone of the posts which is "put it back the way it was". And I also agreed with a post (I think on the general update feedback thread) about the statement that if we are expected to provide why we don't like something (which I agree- any good feedback has reasons why) I also think it's also fair to ask the question "why was it changed to begin with"?
I do appreciate that someone, somewhere, thinks that they improved the game with this change. I appreciate the sentiment, if less so the execution...
However, the main thing that's useless to me now is when sending an attack, I have no idea what camp I'm attacking if I haven't memorized the map. We need to be able to see the enemy troops when hovering over a camp we're prospectively attacking. The green bars take up far too much of the screen, and I have no idea what the "250" is telling me - it's not useful information, at all. Every camp shows 250 on YWC. The number doesn't change. Please reverb back to the way it was - nothing has been improved with this!
Why play, when all you do, is complaining. :p
Now the health bar seems to come and go as it sees fit. I know for certain that at one point on Fisherman it was only displaying when a camp was being torn down. Now after being on the home island for a while it shows up anytime you hover over a camp. It doesn't matter if a general is attacking or not. It wasn't behaving that way a little while ago.
After running a simple block I don't see a big problem because when targeting a camp you don't get enemy display (generally bad) or the bar (definitely good) so I haven't found interference in that respect yet.
That's enough for me on the subject. Final vote is put it back the way it was. Otherwise I'll just adapt the best I can.
when you are sending attacks to 2 camps that are close together (such as the leader and one just in front of it, section 2 of VLT) the green bar on both camps totally blocks out any chance of seeing whats happening... very bad on laptop, cant imagine what its like on large screens.
its yet another stupid change that was totally uncalled for, and unnecessary. why do you at BB feel you have to change things? is it so you can justify your jobs? FAIL!!

How can that be at all helpful to the player?
The idea by itself is not awful, or at least it woudlnt be if it was put in the game from the start.
Whats astonishingly dumb about this one is :
- noone asked for it
- noone ever indicated the existing solution was in any way problematic
- the new solution doesnt bring any valuable information (considering that what really matters is the time needed to destroy the camp, not the HP itself, and we still have no info on the time needed which makes the '250' meaningless)
- outside of some exceptions all of the regular camps, regardless of graphical differences all have THE SAME hp
- anyone with a little grasp of design principles can figure out potential usability problems ( like mentioned issues with the bar covering other objects ) on a conceptual level already, before someone even decides to put any resources into implementation
and most importantly of all, all of the above were already mentioned in the feedback thread on test server, but the decision to implement it was made REGARDLESS.
personaly i dont see the point of it. its to big it covers the generals path if like me you send mutiple attacks at once i now cant see where 2nd gen is to know when to send 3rd etc as the 250 bar covers the walk path of the gen so having to wait til that bars gone to be able to send 2nd and 3rd gen at safe distances between them
if you need it in game maybe make it a little smaller i didnt mind the old rainbow way tbh but that was the right size to be able to know when to send attacks etc
While I'm not a fan of the bar either or don't not need it, those assumptions seem to be incorrect when it comes to the whole TSO userbase. Browsing other region forums for reactions it seems that mostly guide makers have asked for something like these.
- they can now see the camp building hp without digging out game files
- they can see more precise info about tight blocks and calculate demolition time for accurately
- 250 is the most used hp but for example dark castle or witch tower have a higher hp (2000) and take a lot more time to take down. MCC also has various hp for the camp buildings
I used google translate so there may be wrong interpretations in some cases.
as I already mentioned on test forums, demolition time can be measured, so :
- it does not have to be calculated
- even if you want to calculate it, HP itself doesnt give you enough information to do so
- even if you want to calculate it, you will only need to do it once, other than that displaying the numbers simply doesnt make sense
So realistically the only thing you get by seeing the HP numbers is, if you pay attention, you will notice if they ever change.
Which I cannot really comment as I kinda agree and I've also never used camp hp for anything. It was just that people commented along those lines that it's somehow useful to them now. I think the same happened at the test server.
edit: BB replied this at German forum (Google translated)

Cant see any advantages at all in the new update all its done is screw up the graphics.
only thing that seems to be better is the border posts around the volcano stopping collectables spawning there. Apart from that i think we need to go back to how it was before the update.
When sending an attack I can't see what bad guys are in the camps. Who thought this was a game improvement? Please fix this, we need to be able to see camp composition when sending attacks.
