I feel it is a shame the island deeds are Gems and not Bean Stalks for the new 4 Islands, It would be nice to have the building spots but not at that price sadly.
Agree...Even though I understand that you need the gems flowing to fund the game at least two islands could have been for beanstalks and two for gems.
Well lets see - when is this going to happen?
I am very glad we have the opportunity to do an Arabian city with all the beautiful buildings we can get from the adventures; and more glad we will get more saltpeter deposits, we have so many titanium ones, that are less useful as we get titanium bars from treasure search ... and we need more gunpowder since the production of Mountain marksmen need 2 arquebuses ... my only concern is the 20 min needed to build the saltpeter mines (the 25 min for tit mines is insane) it's as if you think we have all the time in the world to play, we have a life as well, you do everything to help us to do adventures more rapidly, which is super great by the way, but nothing for getting our buildings as essential as these more rapidly. It takes more than an hour and a half to build all iron mines every 3 days, same time to build all gold mines every 2 days, it's pretty insane when I think of it ;)
Bit expensive considering how little space some of the islands offer.
Agreed here as well.
Either half for gems and half for beanstalks or perhaps a choice on each. 3000 gems or 300,000 beanstalks or something like that - at least give players an option.
Many will pay the gems regardless (removed) but it is shamefully cash-grabbing...
Did I read this right, all 4 islands will require the gem version of the deed to unlock?
That's 14k gems we have to find, surely some of these should have been for stalks or equivalent.
Yes, I agree that the price of more than 3400 is quite excessive and one would have to think very carefully about acquiring more space....
I feel that a "buff" or some other method to recover forest ground or "desert" ground on the home island wold be more beneficial. That would easily be accommodated and allow for more buildings.
The "Island Expansion" makes no mention of additional building licenses or similar matters.
I think it is very disappointing that they appear to be only available for gems.
Surely it could be made that those with the deposits can be bought with gems but the others purely for space could be bought with beanstalks.
Those who have genuinely run out of space have been loyal players for years and have no doubt contributed in many purchases in the past.
Where were you guys when the sneak peak asked for feedback? Now its set in stone and we'll just have to deal with it..
We were discussing it in global chat with Devs as many were saying they felt purely a gem cost was unreasonable, to be told by a Dev that it wasnt set in stone, and we would have to wait to see what the final decision was.
The following was mentioned in the feedback:-
But we already used 7 sector deeds to open Islands Archipelago. Are you going to make us use 4 x 3,5K gems for this ? The Idea is great, but if it is "you can only go on, if you use more money, than you did already" its just a money scam....
70 Euro for 4 little islands
Currently all 4 islands are for sale only for gems. Wish one would be for Beanstalks. Wish BB would learn the bee hive pattern thats the most effective for storehouse+ production buildings and at least one 1+6 pattern would be available on every island. Imo the islands are only good for buildings that dont need a storehouse and since you have to build a storehouse to be able to build other buildings you will waste 1 spot right away.
In the 1st expansion 7 of the 10 areas were available for stalks but you've gone the gem route for all 4 on this one. very disappointing.
It seems expensive at first, but upon second look it seems OK. Cost of the deed is the same as original 3, so it follows the pattern. As a high end feature, extras of space expansion, I have no problem with gem unlock.
The only thing I'm finding a bit irritating right now is another isolated granite deposit like the one on original North-East gem island. Would prefer them both to be incorporated in the general mining pool somehow maybe through a bridge or underwater tunnel or just workers walking across the shallow after paying travel pass or toll or any other fun arrangement.
Apart from that, yeah, bring it on. :)
Im fine with some being for gems, simply because BB have to have the option to make some revenue from the game.
However, they also give gems free as in-game rewards/log in. We all know the game is slow-play with no-pay, so again its make your mind up on what you actually want to spend your FREE gems on.

Time is money ;-)
A big meh for gems, at least half of them from an event of some kind, as a reward.
People quote 70 euro but I doubt very many people make that level of investment outside of a 100% gem sale. So looking at UK prices, for £35.84 I can get 11k gems doubled to 22k gems. I can spend 16k of these on the 4 extra islands plus the additional lucky explorer and still have 6k gems left over.
Alternatively I can spend £17.92 and get 4.8k gems doubled to 9.6k use the excelsior to get a few extra gems (not difficult) and still buy all of the deeds.
I for one am glad this is gem only and my rationale is:
2 years ago many of us thought the game was dying and would cease within months. The reason being, the game had stagnated, trade was non existent, chat and guild activity had slowed down and lots of players leaving.
In the last 18 months or so, theres been a huge amount of additional content and the game is again feeling like there is new stuff to do.
All of the additional effort already delivered and yet to be delivered comes at a cost to BB. Gem sales is the way they fund this effort.
Many people have been sat on loads of gems having obtained 10 gem pits (sometimes at nil / minimal cost). BB need a way to entice players to use gems.
The recent updates does this and will continue to do so. I'm sure I am not the only way that has paid 98 gems to autocomplete the buff productions needed in some Mountain Clan adventures. I'm definitely not the only person that plans on buying all 4 deeds on day 1 of them being available.
The end result is the game lasts a little longer and maybe even into and beyond 2020 when Adobe Flash disappears.
short letters quests 3 bits each give 50 gems good way to kinda mine gems for free in the game
really oO
That is true...
But at 50 per it takes a lot of crystals to get to the necessary 3500 for an expansion, assuming you have no other use for crystals.
It's certainly achievable with only gems and with 100% free gems. It's a matter of time. But at the given prices, it's a LOT of time. I think the main thing I'm hearing in the thread is not that there is a gem price for them, but that is the only price. There are no options.
That's what I think should be reconsidered.
Except it isn't - if you already have a granite mason on the isolated island in the north, the new deposit can also be mined by him.
Think of it as a backup resource to keep him busy when his primary deposit depletes in the middle of the night. Yeh, he'll have more walking to do, but that's better than him doing nothing for several hours.
It's less than two months and at higher level can do it even in a month. The islands are for 50+ so there are daily shop mini quests for shards and later the Pathfinder crystals. Weekly 1d prem doubles the daily crystals. BB has the game analytics about everything so they probably decided this based on all the info there is. A lot of people have gotten their gem pits just by spamming short letters. I'ts up to the player to decide where to use the crystals.
I also forgot the gifted gems or event gems which Alex mentioned here: https://forum.tsotesting.com/threads...ll=1#post49162
Previous Crisis was over 1k gems at least for me IIRC.
How many Mag Res can we get on these new islands?
At least 3. Maaybe 4th, but got stuff on it on test.
There are big open space onyl on one island.
u can get 50 gems by doing the long letters quest chains. if u have the manuscript recipe u will get 50 gems instead. Prob is those quest chains can be very expensive on res and take awhile to complete. U can also pick up gems from achievements. the arabian nights 1 will give 1001 gems once u do all the arabian nights addy once each.
So there is a few ways to get gems without having to buy too many. But its nice to buy gems when u can afford it to help pay the running costs of the game.
For us its just fun but someone has to pay the wages of the staff to keep bringing us new things and deal with any probs that might come up.
Will we have to send explorers out to find these islands?
shame , only gems, so that's me out, of the expansion.
Not sure how this is an issue since it only takes 2-3 mins of an explorer's time to uncover a fog covered island, but yes, you'll likely be expected to send out an explorer to find the new islands.
I am more concerned about the islands with additional deposits. It seems the BB logic is that it's additional spawn locations, not a raised cap of mines according to this post over on testserver. A clarification would be nice. Since it's a gem purchase only, I would much prefer a raised cap of mines able to be built, than a new spawn location...
I play on two different servers.
On one account I have bought the 3 gem islands we got originally and I have two additional gold deposits as well as one each of iron and granite deposits.
I also have additional saltpetre and titanium spawn locations compared to the account where I have not bought any of those 3 islands, but am only able to find four (each) of titanium and saltpeter at any given time on both accounts.
I would expect the new islands to follow suit.
CORRECTION:
A friend pointed out an error in my statement concerning titanium deposits:
While getting the original three gem islands does not increase the number of saltpetre deposits you can have simultaneously beyond the four you can have available without them, it does increase the number of simultaneous titanium ore deposits to six.
However, the number of places that salt and titanium deposits can be found are both increased (to five and seven respectively), so when you deplete a mine you don't necessarily get a deposit back in the same place from a subsequent geologist search. This can get somewhat annoying and is certainly a minor disadvantage of spending gems to unlock these islands.
