Hello,
We, customers, are suffering from your choices.
How are you going to compensate us ? Like nices compagnies do to their beloved customers :-)
It's a real thing to get trust back.

It's a real thing to get trust back.
I'd say we'd have to be "beloved" at first...
hotfix to fix the xmas event they didnt decativate right lol. they have had nearly 2 months to sort that out and they decide to do it right after the start of another event.
What would be best would be to stop implementing event, after event, after new additions and fix EVERY issue there is JUST NOW with the game and get a stable platform again to build upon.
You are just compounding the problems until the game won't work and everyone will just end up leaving
think the plan is to get players to quit to justify closing the game so they dont have to worry about finding a solution to the flash withdrawl next year.
Other games r switching to HTML5 or webassembly.
1 play is switching to HTML5 next month. Their not as big as BB so if they can do it why not BB? maybe cause they cant even get the game right using flash let alone porting to HTML5 lol
I agree with this game is becoming a joke. One fix after another and one problem after another. I have played for several years but maybe it is time to look for another game to play.
This is worse than the final months of Anno-online, no-one at BB appears to talk to anyone else.
No HTML5 version of the game is planned.
However, we do not ignore the Flash situation and are working on solutions. Even if the browsers stop running Flash, the standalone game client (the so-called Slim Browser) will still work and it will be possible to play.
Is there a repair on the gemshop included in the hotfix?
Lots of countries are unavailable.
Tried several times today (including one before the hotfix) but still no possibility of getting into the dutch gemshop.
New Event stopped by 'hotfix' of an event that ended near 2 months ago.
NOW, Happy Hour isn't working properly.
So much fun.
shame standalone client is rubbish, needs to be able to have multi tabs for guides and other usefull stuff most player switch between when using a standard browser. plus the fact i rarely got the standalone version to work as vlc kept trying to load the flash elements, so all i ended up when clicking play was a traffic cone icon in window, and what happens when windows update uninstall all versions of flash which i think will happen next year, slimbrowser wont work
I can't say it seems very professional to start a hotfix right after the start of an event and during a happy hour. Both service and commercial wise not really smart.
If there was no rush to do a resource conversion earlier, then why specificly right now and not after the current event?
Only reason to do it right now, would be it messes up the current event. But if that is the case, then again unprofessional planning on your part as you should have done that before this event then.
So to summarize this... Unprofessional!
Also, on a side note, the stand alone client is Windows only. Do you keep in mind you have Mac and Linux customers aswel?
You can find a link for it on front page "Help & Support" the FAQ, second last item. Slim browser download.
It uses Flash. Your choice of Google or Adobe version. Sometimes swapping between the two sorts lags and stuff for me.
Playing via Steam effectively uses the slim line browser and it's been my observation it's stabler than web version (no random browser updates messing with it). However you can't switch between web/slimline and Steam versions, even though latter two are basically the same. And in Steam you can't have multiple accounts (AFAICT) since you only have 1 SteamID. It's not going to be as seamless as online where you can just pick world and login credentials.
I have to access the forum via the ingame browser and it's not as convenient as in browser tabs. For those whining it's in different window than browser, it's my experience that makes it easier to have guides and game open at same time. Effectively it's like moving game into it's own tab, which most have to do anyway to get any stability. It jsut get an very independent process from browser. And it's own logo down in taskbar which I like so alway know when am swappign back into game. Whenever I try to read guides and play on testserver I get the tabs mixed up.
You can't switch over from Steam to web or vice versa (Steam login is independent form BB/UBI login, which means whenever UBI servers are out I still have game), unless you really twist the arms of technical support because of gross technical issues. Never heard of anyone migrating TO Steam yet. It's easier to take it over to BB/UBIs own system than sending it out.
I tried downloading the slim browser after we were told in global that it has files that got round the flash issue within it so does not require flash. This is the message I get

I use Opera and an uptodate version of Chrome.
Please submit a ticket to the Support Team. Include the screenshot and information that you have an up-to-date Chrome installed.

Remember the subject of this thread.
So YOU forgot to renew the Security Certificate,
So WE can't connect during this night... We lost again a lot -(for ppl like me who play usualy after midnight)...
NOW get back the subject :
What will be the compensation ?
At least some little excuses will be appreciated... Even if it's not your usual behavior...
As a compensation you got another opportunity to pay BB for some gems to make up for what you can't get by playing cause the game is constantly broken with scores of bugs chasing one after another. :)
Beyond ridiculous this game has become, really. :)
yeah i also want to know if there will be a compensation for i couldnt login this morning... i mean i couldnt even contact support or forum cause nothing was secured !
That was not my point though , as I do run flash and use chrome which has flash . The screenshot was to show the message I get despite this.
I should not really have posted that here but I automatically followed some previous posts which mentioned flash and the slim browser and how it is more stable.
I forgot the thread is actually about compensation for issues with the game since the hot fix. Apologies.
Back to the Thread topic
Maybe compensation should not always be across the board as some have had more issues than others. I have had very few apart from the obvious hotfix time and I am happy with the compensation for that.
I have enormous sympathy for players that plan their time to do these events only for timings to change etc and spend gems only for things not to work as expected and I get the feeling that BB just do not understand the frustration and knock on effect that has on real life.
That´s no problem. It seems we are approaching EOL of tso.
No flash,no tso stands.
You can install the slim-browser,but you still need a flash-plugin.
Might be difficult to get next year after Adobe stopped "development"(security patches once a while) and distribution of it.
the so called slim browser is chrome without any security on it at all.
When flash is removed from adobes website no websites still using flash will work.
No workaround for it. so its either switch to HTML5 or webassembly or close the game simple.
Its why BB r not bothering fixing the bugs. they know the game is closing down.
Why do u think we r getting so much new stuff in the game that needs gems to buy? they r milking us for every penny they can get before closing the game.
I asked if this game was heading the same way as ''anno-online'' @ https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/...the-info-below and didn't receive a reply from staff about that question ( or even a comment ) so I already believe they have no intention to keep it running, BUT, like Anno-Online, keep selling gems right up to the last minute.
However , if they sell the highest package of gems to someone and they close the game before a user could use the gems, would they fall foul of any consumer protection rules in the EU.
is there any chance the merchant is going to be fixed so i can at least give this valentines quest a try? 4 support tickets later you still haven't resolved the problem. i try and place another support ticket and get an auto response saying ive replied to a closed ticket
bb are working on "solutions" no1 has said its the slim browser or nothing!
however, even suggesting we use something that doesn't work very often and wont work in the future is typical of bb and their mods
can we have saqui back?
Didn't you read the mail? it had a short story that referred the troubles of "last night" or similar
Incorrect info. Adobe removing flash means the download is removed and auto-updates no longer work. Browsers also remove the support but it does not mean custom browsers can't support it. Slim browser is a BB's custom fork of chromium which has support for it's own builtin Flash version and own code.
BB has said the Slim browser is the current solution here and at the German forums.
simply put...
if slim browser has its own built in flash? how come u have to install chrome to make it work?
what u gonna do in future when u reinstall windows and flash is nowhere to be found?
a year after flash closes and there is no support for it at all and bb needs it to communicate with other software whats going to happen then?
and right now, take a poll and see how many players can actually get the slim browser to work!
i know the answers and there are many other reasons that makes me think this is not a viable solution. no need for technical replies, i've almost 40 yrs in the IT trade!
