Same, just barely logged in, got the shut down servers message, got kicked out of the game with lost connection, and now there's standard no server message.
I was in, event lasted 8 min. Then "Shut down for maintenance.".
new record...not even ten minutes since event started and it's offline :(
yup Xmas is over, back to work chaps :)
This must have been a world record, even for BB this is BAD!!

same here, got an in game 'server maint' message before it kicked me out to the now 'connection failed'
managed to get in, but then kicked out.

Even accessing the forum is extremely slow... One can only hope BB asked Santa for new servers as the old ones cannot handle what's asked of them...

Simple rule guys - never shut down servers like this without FIRSTLY posting a notice on your own forum that "it has happened because [fill in blank]"
Even if it is generic like "technical problems" - at least we have a thread to check back to throughout the downtime for updates instead of seeing irritated users complaining because we are kept in the dark.
I feel sorry for the hundreds of users who have probably activated premium time and prestigious friend buffs in anticipation of this event.
Was thinking of joining the game asking what bugs where found so far..... but seems i dont have to, cant even log in.
We had some bugs with events, but this one beats all the former :D
As usual ... event starts with errors.
Seems the game is loading again, lets see how long it will last :)
